Does anyone know why Randy didn't sing? Is something wrong with him?

I recognized: Brad Paisley Tim McGraw Alan Jackson George Strait Rascal Flatts Martina McBride Carrie Underwood Reba McIntyre Faith Hill Tricia Yearwood Willie Nelson Brooks and Dunn Randy Travis Vince Gill Keith Urban Miranda Lambert Blake Shelton Ronnie Milsap Charley Pride Little Big Town Alabama Darius Rucker Lady Antebellum Who are the younger guys singing alone? And who is the gal with the gigantic bolo tie around her neck who resembles Emily Blunt a little? I thought Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, and Kenny Chesney were sort of conspicuously absent Eric Church, Brett Eldredge and Kacey Musgrave were in the video.

Thanks! I know Eric Church's name, but haven't seen him before. I've never heard those other names.

Thanks! I know Eric Church's name, but haven't seen him before. I've never heard those other names. You are welcome! I love Eric Church and think his music sounds like old country. I wish Gary Allen had been in the video, he has wonderful music but gets over looked. I grew up on Country thanks to my mom and dad, she being a huge Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn fan and my dad being a Ronnie Milsap and Tammy Wynette fan. Luke Bryan was another young guy in the video.

We have a little girl at my school--a first grader-- who LOVES Ronnie Milsap. Like--is OBSESSED with him. Even last year, in kinder, she could sing any one of his songs on demand.

My grandson who is 4 loves Michael Hutchence thanks to me and Gary Allen. I have to play their music every time he comes. Drives my daughter nuts most of time, she is always telling me he talks about them and wants to hear their music at their home too.

I think there are many many artists that could have been included but then the video would have been an hour long! I loved that the video wrapped up with Carrie and Brad and then ended with Dolly. Carrie and Brad are such great hosts. I hope that the 50th CMA's are amazing! I've been a country music lover since I was a little girl. we just had the Canadian Country Music Awards so I've been on a big Canadian artist kick as I was reminded how many talented people we have here too.

I'm stuck in the 90's! I do not like modern country music. I miss my old favorites... Vince, Martina, Faith, Tim, George, Trisha, Reba, Alan, etc. LOVED that video! there's very little of it I like either...
those you've listed are mid country to me. I hardly know any of the young ones.
I also grew up hearing country music. we had some country fans living in the apt over us. the heat vent was encased from the basement up thru our apt to theirs..that encasement had a door on it. when they'd play their music I'd often open that door up so I could hear it better!
I grew up with those like Lefty Frizzell, Hank Sr etc.
anyone watch the Country Reunion show on RFDTV (I get it on directv) on Fri and Sat nights? love that. A lot of their taped shows are now shows of those who have died. they've also done one of the kids of the greats. those 'kids' are now middle age. those like Conway's son, Faron Young's son (Faron is one of my favs), Georgette Jones, Roger Miller's son etc.
in a recent show I watched I think it was 23 out of 30 on the show are now dead. Charlie's been on it. Vince Gill and Blake Shelton have been on too.
glad to hear Randy was there even if not to sing. I've been wondering about him and his health.
any of you heard Mo Pitney sing? that's the most awesome young country singer I've heard in many, many yrs! He often sings with his sister (some have thought it to be his wife).

I'm in Morgantown, WV. John Denver performed Country Roads when our football stadium opened. On game days, you hear it everywhere. My Facebook feed exploded yesterday with this video. I know of three people that bought the mp3 and someone on my street played it 10 times yesterday.

I loved that!! Tears started running down my cheek from the first note. Country Roads holds a very tender spot in my heart. And I Will Always Love You makes me cry like a baby.

I can't say I am a country music fan but I do like it and appreciate the artists. I have listened off and on to country music for way too many years to count being from the south. This just gave me "good feels" and yes, I did get a bit teary eyed. Just seeing so many coming together to do this. We need some nice going around these days!

I heard it for the first time this morning. Surprising that I could tell most of them buy their voices. Wonder where Garth was? I love Martina. Vince Gill was barely recognizable. Love that Randy Travis was in it. And, for the record, new country is definitely growing on me. I love Dierks!

I spent my younger teen years living across from the Grand Old Opry...we would go over and watch all the old timers sing...Porter Wagner, Oak Ridge Boys, etc. Watched Minnie Pearl, Hew Haw get filmed...that said I enjoy the new and old country music...I do wonder why some of the stars weren't on there...esp. Garth..he is usually all over stuff like this.

Holy cow, I turn that album UP in my car and dance. My girls say it looks like I am having a seizure. LOL! So, if you see "seizure woman" coming down the road, it's just me!

I am not much of a country music fan, but you'd have to have lived much of life under a rock to not recognize a lot of those performers.
And isn't Dolly Parton just the cutest thing? She is one person I'd love to sit around and chat with. I love her mind and her wit.
