On average it takes me about 30 minutes to do a layout if I have the basic stuff I will use on the page already gathered up. I can do on average at a 10 hour crop about 20 pages. Of course I take breaks for bathroom and snacking.
Like I said on another thread, I really enjoy having completed layouts and books so I see no reason for me to agonize over it. I have tons of supplies and there is plenty of stuff for me to use to get pages done. Being a theme scrapper makes it easier also.

Maybe 5? I'm pretty slow. I enjoy the process.

It is so varied for me. But like others I really like to finish a layout in one sitting or at least with only a few breaks. I can do 10 layouts in a full day if I am really inspired or have kits I have made up. I have occasionally left a layout out on my desk because it needs something and I just can't figure out what.

If I have a good stretch of uninterrupted time and no guilt from chores that are waiting to be done I can complete 2-3 layouts in a day. I'm not a super fast scrapper and I tend to move things around a bit before I commit to the design and start sticking things down. I really struggle with doing layouts over multiple days so I try to start when I have time to finish in the same sitting.

IF I have time alone to scrap for hours and hours (hahahahaha..... that hasn't happened in years!), I can scrap like a beast. At one point, I could put out 10-15 awesome layouts a night. Now? Still puttering with the one sitting on my desk. Though, I have to brush the dust off of it first. Wait.... Can dust be an embellishment?

For me it totally depends on the photos....if it's a story & photo I am excited about I am faster...if I am working through a bunch of photos....much slower....

It's the TV that affects me: if it's a new show or movie I haven't seen, I barely get anything done. If it's an rerun or something I know well (or can just listen to) it keeps me focussed. If I have nothing on, I tend to get up every 30 minutes and putter around, which slows me down.
Typically - about 2 hours!

I think the most I have done in one day completed fully is 6. These are layouts with lots of layers, sewing etc. I have attended 2 use your own product classes and got 20 lo started needing a few touches to them when I get home. Those classes are great you are given sketches and list of product needed and you do the assembling at the class. The lo aren't maybe as fancy as some I do at a regular crop but I can always fancy them up at home. I have seen ppl post here and other boards saying they get 60 or more done in a 2 or 3 day crop. I've also been to crops where ppl have done that. Personally when I see those lo they look like they are slapped together to me. For me scrapbooking is a creative outlet and a way to relax. I wouldn't be happy with lo I spent 20 mins on. I am more about the process then about trying to get my piles of photos done! When I go to crops I like to visit, connect with other scrappers and look at others work to get inspired! When you do the math and take in eating maybe some shopping etc for me to complete 60 some lo I would be giving myself 20 mins per lo yeah that's not for me but I guess for some it's more about getting stuff done.I've gone to some crops and seem to accomplish little in the way of actual production but instead maybe made new friends, found some new techniques or just recharged my batteries and I am okay with that too! Wow, since I am the one who has posted here in the past about doing 60+ layouts at a scrap weekend (and even more since you posted this) and since you've commented similarly on a past post of mine, this seems to be aimed at me. I get lots of compliments on my layouts at crops and in real life. My ability to do as many as I can do is due pre planning and has nothing to do with it being about "just getting stuff done"- as you claim- although I do enjoy that. Honestly, after reading a post like this, I am less likely to share what I consider *my* accomplishments here in the future and hearing my layouts described as *slapped together* make me not interested in posting them here or in the gallery anymore. In the future I will just stick to posting them on my FB page. Also don't worry-- I recharge and enjoy my weekends away. I am able to simultaneously scrap and visit, I always enjoy a massage, we usually step out to eat as well. This last time we ate in and cooked our own meals they included Pasta Fagioli Soup, Salad and breadsticks and then Chicken Marsala, fried red potatoes and fruit salad and my dinner offering was Filet Mignon, White Sharp Cheddar Mac and Ceasar Salad.

tduby1- I hope you don't stop sharing. I admire you so much for getting so many LO's done. I know your an inspiration to many who are regulars here or just lurker's. I for one really loved your thread about your scrapbook weekend and how many LO's you got done. I use to post at another forum that focused on cardmaking. We were talking about how long it takes to get a card done. I was the slowest. I got scolded and ran down for it. Then the ladies were like "Why don't you show off your creations here?" I would think why would you all give 2 ef's because I am so sloooow my cards are not good enough for your card making process. Point of my story is that I understand your irked. I don't blame you one bit for not wanting to share. I hope you do. Your dinner made me hungry.

Yesterday was a really shitty day to have one more thing I've done criticized. The day started, right off the bat with someone saying my son's senior picture was the oddest senior picture they've ever seen and then go on to point out everything they disliked, which included: the pose, the background (We took it in The Petrified Forest!!) the tilt of his head, his freaking face (!!!), and his trademark red Nike tennis shoes. When she was done nothing was left uninsulted. DH took the photos and a professional is editing them. This was the first sneak peek. It absolutely knocked the wind right out of my sails after having a multitude of people say they loved it. Then to kind of decompress after being upset all day over that I decide to catch up on here and *that* is what I read... So I went to bed upset. Started my day being criticized and ended it in the same exact manner. It still stings. All of it.

I can scrap MAYBE 2-4 layouts in a 12-hour period of time, either 1 or 2-page layouts, start to finish. That's it.
I work in stages; sometimes I enjoy the designing part of the process, sometimes the cutting / pasting, and sometimes the embellishing. I VERY rarely make a layout from start to finish in one sitting.
I take a loooong time to get set up, and it takes me a loooong time to get my creative juices flowing. So I work best over a two or three-day scrapping retreat.
What I have been doing lately with my scrapping is using the Club Scrap method of scrapping, which is similar to SG sketches: I pull groups of coordinating papers together with cutting and page sketch ideas and I'll pre-design pages before finding photos for them. (I don't coordinate my papers exactly with my photos; that's why this process works for me.)
When I feel like doing cutting and pasting, I will trim the papers and design the base pages. When I feel like doing the photo part, I'll pull out a kit that works with my photos and arrange the photos on the pages... then later I'll take out my bling, stickers, etc. and embellish a group of pages all at the same time; then I'll add the journaling. This process seems to work best for me. So I can go for a period of time and have NO finished pages, then I'll finish up a whole bunch at once.
ETA: for me, "scrapbooking" is as much about the process of crafting and scrapping as it is the final product. I'm not as concerned about having the completed pages done and finished; for me, it's the process I find therapeutic.

It really depends for me. Sometimes a layout takes me 30 minutes and sometimes I work on it for five hours. I'd say on average a layout takes me about 1 1/2 hours to complete. On days when I sit down to scrap I'll do 2 or 3 layouts then I'm usually burnt out and ready to do something else.
I have friends on both ends of the spectrum. One spends an average of 20 minutes and the other will often spend 2 or 3 days picking at a layout in between daily life before she considers it done.

I think I've told, you this before but Club Scrap sounds a lot like shimelle's Perfect Collection system, which I've used. Your process sounds a lot like my original kit making process. Over several night I'd set aside 15 mins to a half hour. Night one I'd pull pics and paper for so many kits. Night two I'd choose a different element and add to each kit. Etc. I tend to do it all at once now that ive got a system down but that did help develop my system.

^^^ that sounds like a good way to put together a large number of kits. I'll have to try that (doing them in stages over a number of evenings, I mean.)
Club Scrap puts out a monthly kit that includes papers, embellishments, and page layouts + cutting instructions. I use their page layout ideas + cutting instructions (which are available on their website) with my own papers to make my own 'kit' but I don't add any embellishments or finishing details to my kits when I make them up. I should really do that next time, though- that way I wouldn't have to haul EVERY embellishment I own to the scrap store when I go for a crop! (then again, I do like changing things up, adding twine, stickers, etc. and if I didn't have them available I'd probably get fixated on that ONE thing I wanted but didn't bring, lol)
So far I've only used this process to make layouts for my Hawaii trip album, but I think I'd like to use the same process for much more of my scrapping, so I can avoid waffling over page layout and design decisions.

I also rifle through and pull from this basket when a kit isn't doing it for me. crimsoncat05 where do find the cutting guide on their page?

How many layouts can you scrap in that one day you finally get to actually scrap? So many factors. Are the kids there to bother me? If yes, probably two. A whole day miraculously to myself? Six tops with no prep. With some page planning; more. If it's the family album with no interruptions and lots of prep (I use divided sheet protectors); up to 20. Those pages are very simple.

I've started scrapping in batches. That's how I am too! I don't have a dedicated space. It helps to cut down on the clutter if I'm concentrating on doing one task at a time. I use lots of post-it notes and put the ideas in the sheet protector with the photo. Wow, since I am the one who has posted here in the past about doing 60+ layouts at a scrap weekend (and even more since you posted this) and since you've commented similarly on a past post of mine, this seems to be aimed at me. I love to have completed albums. Depending on the page, I just want the memory preserved (family album with divided sheet protectors). I currently have 11 pages planned. Now, I need the photos printed. I have other themed albums (Christmas, Birthday...) that I add more things to the pages. I like your idea for page kits and I do something similar except I don't have lots of embellishments, so I keep those together and use them last.

tduby1, the monthly kit 'instructions' are under the "How To" link on the Club Scrap website. Here's the direct link: Club Scrap How-To: InstructionsIt's sort of like Scrapbook Generation, except that Scrapbook Generation are more for only making individual 2-page layouts, not an entire kit that would make between four and 8 2-page layouts altogether. The Club Scrap written instructions have cutting guides for the papers and instructions for putting those papers together to make the finished layouts. The instructions are written specifically for their kits (which include exclusive Club Scrap papers and embellishments), but I substitute my own papers and materials. To show you how their kit assembly process works, here's a video showing how one of their kits is assembled: You Tube Constellations kit assembly and here's the written instructions for that particular kit: Club Scrap Constellations Lite Kit instructions (this particular kit makes 8 SB pages total, four 2-pg layouts.) Here's a made-up example explaining how I use their directions: If a Club Scrap kit makes (4) 2-page layouts, the kit instructions might show that you need4 pieces of cardstock and 2 pieces of patterned paper for page bases; 3 pieces of patterned paper and 2 pieces of cardstock to cut for page accents; 8 precut photo mats; and assorted borders, ribbons, and trims. I'll choose a particular kit I want to use by looking at the finished page examples- do I like the page layouts they show (# and size of photos, horizontal vs. vertical, amount of embellishing, etc.)? Do the sizes of photos, the embellishments, and the journaling space work for my photos? If so, I'll pick papers from my stash and try to recreate the kit with my own materials. I will pick papers from my stash that work together to 'fit' the number of papers the kit requires. If it shows a yellow printed paper with sunflowers on in the kit, for example, I'll just use my own yellow patterned paper instead (or some other pattern / color). I don't necessarily even choose the same colors or patterns of paper they show in the kit; I'll just choose papers from my stash that coordinate with each other and that work for the photos I want to scrap. I may make notes on the printed-out instructions to keep track of which papers I'm using for my own 'kit' instead of the papers they show, and I've had to add or change out a few things here and there-- like, for example: If the kit instructions show (3) 1.5 inch square photos on a particular page and I don't have any pictures that small, I'll make those spaces into embellishment spots, or just use a bigger photo in that space if the page layout allows for it. I've only used this 'kit re-creation' process for a couple months now, and it's helped me to make the 15 2-page layouts I have done so far for my Hawaii vacation album. I have about 6 more kits made up to use: a nautical-themed kit for the dinner cruise photos, a patriotic-themed kit for my Pearl Harbor photos, a travel-themed kit for the plane ride to / from Hawaii, a tropical-themed kit for my luau photos, etc. I don't know if I'd use this process for EVERY page I ever scrap, but it's helped me to make layouts for my vacation album without thinking I have to come up with my 'own' page designs for every single layout.

wow, I apologize for writing such a novel, there, lol!! But it's kind of hard to explain (in writing) how I use the Club Scrap kits to do my own scrapbook layouts... using this sort of kit / instructions, or pre-designed sketches (like SG sketches) is pretty much the only way I can be productive, though, since the page design process is difficult for me.
