Ripped jeans? While searching ankle booties on pinterest I'm noticing half the outfits show ripped/distressed jeans.
Something you like?

I personally don't care for the look, not because I'm in my 40's. I didn't like it back in the 80's when I was young.

I've never liked ripped jeans, even when I was young.
Well, unless I ripped my favorite jeans then I might have worn them a few more times until they were really ratty.
My DD does really like ripped jeans but when her favorite jeans got rips in the knees she had me sew a contrasting print inside behind the tips. That look I'd like if I were younger.

I've never been a fan of wearing ripped jeans. i just don't like how they feel. It's the difference between where the fabric is covering you and where it isn't that annoys me.

I don't really care for them; however, I have a pair I"m thinking of ripping myself at the knees. I was shopping with my stepdaughter which is probably why I lost my mind and bought skinny jeans. Never mind that I don't like to wear jeans at all. Anyway, I can't return them and they are really tight at the knees so I've thought about ripping them myself to make them work. They've been hanging in my closet for a year so it wouldn't be a loss if it didn't work out.

My denim shorts this summer were all distressed because that's what I could find.
I don't have any regular jeans that are distressed. Personal style preference - I wear dark straight leg jeans or jeggings with no distressing on them.
I have a couple of coworkers in their mid-40s and beyond who are rocking the ripped jeans and looking great.

No, I'm way too fat to pull off that look. It would be flesh bulging from the distressed areas.

No. I'm not a fan of overly faded or dirty looking jeans either.

I don't like ripped jeans. Ripped skinny jeans, slightly rolled above the ankle boots are pretty much the new uniform for anyone 15-45 here.

No I really dislike ripped jeans, I've never understood the attraction. Even when I was younger and skinny I wasn't a fan.

I own and wear distressed jeans, I like them. I'm not however liking the cropped raw hem jeans that are in the shops.

Ripped jeans, like below, no. Distressed jeans though, yes, I do like them and have this pair from Gap that I'm wearing a lot at the moment.

We did that in the 80s ( layered, not bare underneath ). Of course, the rule is that if you did it the first time around, you should avoid it the second time. So now I save my ripped jeans for gardening and yard work.

I'm like gar in that I do not like ripped jeans, but I do wear some that are slightly distressed.

I want to be able to wear my jeans to school on Fridays and ripped ones would never be acceptable for that. Plus, I don't really like the look that much.
Distressed jeans can look good on people, but those still would not be acceptable for school.

Of course, the rule is that if you did it the first time around, you should avoid it the second time. Rules are made to be broken I think the key for me is to adapt...not to take a style and adopt it in it's entirety but to take elements and wear them in a way that's relevant to your age.

I'm not a fan of ripped jeans, and I don't buy them for myself of DD. We both wear jeans a lot, but we can't wear jeans with rips to work or school.

I have a pair that I love, but over time, the rips get bigger and when I spend $200 on a pair, I prefer them to have some longevity. I've been shopping for a new pair of jeans lately, and it was quite a challenge to find ones that aren't distressed. I can't wear ripped jeans to work!

I don't mind slightly distressed jeans, but I'm loving the patchwork jeans.

I'm loving the patchwork jeans. I haven't seen any like the ones Gia posted yet...but I'm thinking it'd be pretty easy to customise some ripped ones myself....

I like them if there's one hole on the knee, not when they are shredded.

Cute pictures. Love the look of skinny jeans with shoe boots.
Don't think I can pull it off as I am always freezing. Already need to wear socks. Midwinter I will be wearing a pair of liners with wool socks over that.
Do people go sockless inside the shoe boots, or just wear a golf shoe liner?

I just feel like this look is too casual for me. I have one pair of ripped jeans and I wear them to paint.

Distressed - YES! Ripped - Depends on where the rip(s) is/are. Shredded - No
