I've been using the Finish Tabs with the powerball for a long time now. They just don't seem to be getting the job done anymore. We just replaced our dishwasher and would like to try something new.

I use finish powerball tabs. The one with the removable wrapper. When I'm washing anything nonstick I use finish powder because I've read that it's easier on nonstick (I think it's the lack of bleach or something).

I use Finish; I've been with them since they were Electrosol. The first time I'd ever used a dishwasher was when I moved into my first apartment and used Cascade. I complained that the dishwasher didn't work well. My former mother-in-law told me the problem was my detergent just like a commercial. She was right.

Almat tablets from Aldi, we found them to be better than the Finish ones.

I went back to powder because I realized it took all of 5 seconds to pour it in and the cost savings is a lot. A box lasts forever. I've been using Finish and it worked fine. Then I decided to try really cheap and bought Walmart's Great Value powder. Seems to work just as well, maybe better. And just now I found this article . So it might not be my cheapskate imagination. lainey do you remember the cost of Aldi's tabs? I never saw them there... if they are inexpensive enough I could be persuaded. Convenience works if it competitive.

I use the Finish Powerball All in 1 and love it. I understand the kind in the pods like detergent are not good for your washer though I think you are already using what I use.

I use Finish Powerball tabs ... when things start to look a little grungy I use some Jet Dry rinse and then we are good to go

Hmmm...we use Cascade Complete and it works well. I also set my dishwasher to use extra hot water and that made all the difference in the world. I also learned to scrap food off the plates instead of rinsing. That is key!! Otherwise your dishwasher thinks your dishes are already clean.

I have used Finish Powder for some time now, and recently(thanks to the Peas) started adding Lemoniny Shine along with the Finish. However, my latest purchase was Trader Joe's powder, and that plus the Lemoniny Shine works just as well as the Finish powder.

Finish the orange pod kind because that's what our dishwasher manual recommended and my kids who load the dishwasher don't have to measure anything.

I switched to the Cascade Platinum Action Pacs about a year ago. Totally made a difference.

I stopped using Finish because the red part of the tab was staining anything white that I put in the dishwasher. I use Cascade Complete now.

Cascade Liquid with power of Dawn.
We used to use the tabs by Finish and Cascade. Ruined our dishwasher. The plastic casing never really disolved and caused a horrible clog that could not be fixed.

Usually Finish powerball tabs.
Someone gave me a recommendation for Kroger powder b/c it's very cheap and supposed to get the job done just as well, but I haven't made it to Kroger since then.
Honestly, I think JetDry makes more of a difference than the brand of detergent in my machine.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will pick up some Cascade Complete or next time I'm at Aldi try their brand. I cannot stand box detergent for a completely crazy reason. The sound the metal spout makes when you pull it out gives me the heebie jebbies!

Our dishwasher just bit the dust (to be fair it was a 1992 rollaway style and we were the third household in the family to use it) and we used Kirkland brand and it was awesome! I never scraped or overly rinsed the dishes.

Almat tablets from Aldi, we found them to be better than the Finish ones. Same here lainey - are you sure we're not sisters? 😁 I also snap them in half if the dishes aren't particularly dirty/greasy

Finish tabs..
I will never ever use the pods again, was halfway through a pack of pods and the dishwasher stopped draning, we were fixing to buy a new drain pump and replace that--figuring the pump was bad-- and my 18yr old took the drain hose off and discovered that it was cloggedup.. with undissolved plastic crap from the pod things..seems they dont always fully dissolve, and yes can somehow manage to get past the filter screen and into the drain hose. so nope. not again. Also will not use them in laundry.

Shaklee 'Get Clean' dishwasher powder. I started using it probably 8-10ish years ago on the recommendation of my sis when all my dishes were getting that cloudy/etching stuff due to the change in dw formulation. I use only one of the tiny scoops ( instructions say to use 2) and find it works wonderfully!
