I'm hosting Hockey Pool sign up tonight at my place for a bunch of my family members ... they all play and I run the pool ... sort of like I do for Survivor and Big Brother but it is waaaaay more work We're serving pulled pork on buns, Caesar salad and some sort of dessert that my cousin is bringing Appetizers are spinach dip, veggie tray and crackers, cheese and sausage ... Should be a good time because my family is a lot of fun What's on your menu?

Being discussed right now. Since DS is gone for the weekend, we are thinking it may be steaks, baked potato and some really butter up garlic bread.

It's DH's birthday tomorrow so we're going out for dinner tonight. The restaurant is called The Caribbean Embassy, and the food is really different for here.

According to the kids: nothing Every other year or so, DH craves onions and potatoes.....not as a side, but as dinner. So I chopped onions (and cried....a lot), sliced potatoes, added salt and pepper and waited....and waited.....it takes forever to be sauteed (that's the correct kitchen-term, I think. I'm not exactly a domestic goddess in the making, so what do I know?). It's okay, I guess, but I would prefer some protein in there. The kids had leftovers, so they should have been happy (they loved it yesterday), but they complained.... So now I'm drinking tea and eating chocolate and planning tomorrow's dinner. If I'm lucky, there won't be any complaints (ha!!)

I'm grilling steaks that we'll have with rice and some veggies.
I have to to say that the pork chops I cooked last night were amazing! I brined them for about an hour in cold water with red pepper flakes, kosher salt and some Garlic Garlic (pretty sure this is from Tastefully Simple). I grilled them and they came out perfect! Obviously dh wasn't eating because, well, garlic!!!

We are having leftovers with a salad. Not very resourceful, but DH is asleep in front of the football games, so he won't complain

Hi friends! Our lights keep flickering! Eeks! If the power stays on we will have chicken nuggets and tots. If it goes off it's PB&Js.

DH will be cooking hamburgers after he does the grocery shopping Planned side dish is deli potato salad - and possibly potato chips to make DD10 happy. I'm still not up to cooking so our menu this week is chock full of convenience foods and other easy to cook items that the kids like. I'll be craving vegetables and real food by the time I'm off the crutches for sure.

We are having a campfire and roasting hot dogs and marshmallows tonight. Super healthy! But the kiddos are pumped about it!

linda , I had a knee debridement a few years ago and I wasn't up to doing much for at least a week. It took a couple weeks to feel semi-human. Take your time and relax. Take advantage of the downtime to let others pamper you. Tonight I am making a gourmet spread. NOT! Youngest ds will be at work at a restaurant that seems to have the yummiest looking stuff. He brings home a meal for himself and it always looks really good. So, dh and oldest ds will enjoy some fine leftovers from the fridge. Just so that no one thinks I'm completely lazy, I will gladly supply napkins. Hope everyone is having a great Saturday. leannec, I'm happy that you have a fun family. Makes life so much better.

By request, pot roast for DH. I'm doing it in the IP and will get it started soon. I think I'll have a taco salad with pinto beans. I made some pumpkin bars this afternoon. Very tasty...but I ate a bit too much so I need to go light for dinner.

I'm making ribs in the IP and serving them with baked potatoes and glazed carrots.
Dessert will be pumpkin cheesecake bars. It's a new recipe, so I'm hoping it turns out well.

So, the painting project. Apparently, I got lazy today and didn't do a darn thing that was even remotely productive. I have this spot that hasn't been painted. It is a smallish spot. Probably the size of a standard size door when it is all said and done. But y'all? This spot? It is in a place where I can't reach. It is in front of a built in bookshelf, and up high. Because of the fireplace and the shelf, I can't place the ladder in such a way that I can reach it. I can do the man thing and stand on stuff because the shelf isn't strong enough to hold much of anything much less a middle age fluffy painter without crumbling down and breaking bones. So this spot is mocking me. I can't put my house back together until that spot is done. I can't do it. I don't have any good enough tall friends that I can call to put to work, and my boy won't be home until next weekend. And there it sits. Unpainted. As to the dinner question, my sloth like attitude has stretched to preparing of dinner too. My stomach is growling. I am hungry. I do not want to get off this very comfortable couch to do anything about it. It is times like this I dearly wished I had a partner/husband who would I could convince to do something about it during half time. (Gator game is on...) *sigh* Lazy and hungry. Makes for a conflicted evening.

I made pumpkin and green bean yellow curry, which is one of my low calorie recipes. DSO was disappointed that there was no CHICKEN in the dish, and DS was disappointed because he HATES PUMPKIN, so they went to McDonalds instead. DD was disappointed because there was no RICE to serve with it, so she had pasta instead. Oh well, leftovers for me for the next 2 days!! (Which is what I had planned for anyway.)

Eh, we've been out most of the day running around looking for pumpkins and mums for outside decorating and then doing the decorating. All that fresh air and fall-ness has me craving something fall-ish so it's pasta fagioli soup w/ditalini tossed in and I guess a salad.

Standing in line for movie theatre popcorn right now 😊 Healthy dinner, I know.
They're playing all 8 Harry Potter movies in IMAX this weekend, so I've spent most of the day here.

We are going to a hockey game so will pick up something near the arena. Tacos or a burger are the most likely options.
