I'm not because honestly I really don't like to include bad/sad memories and/or events in my scrapbooks so I rarely do.

Even though I'm not American the election still received quite a lot of coverage here and sparked a lot of conversations both at home and at work (I work for an American company and we have some American staff who were closely following the count) and I'll be including it in my PL. The mood in my office is one I've never experienced for our own politics and regardless of how his term pans out I'd like to record my thoughts about the day.

non-US peas can feel free to make a "I'm sick of hearing about the US election" layout Does this mean I have to move out of the country if I want to make an "I'm sick of hearing about our election" layout? Just checking. If I ever do decide to, I want to know now so I can add it to my "Rules I Like To Break" list.

@amayalylac - I'm not on this side of the site all that often, but I'm really glad I got to read your posts on this thread. It sounds like you are creating a book that will be wonderful to read in future years.

Except if you move to London, then the world will literally be your oyster card. #badLondonpuns I can relate though: I've got a nagging feeling I'll be so done with our own presidential election by the time we get to vote spring next year. Living in the most attractive region of France, we have the highest senior migration rates and largest senior population and biggest extreme right wing party following and highest extreme right wing voting numbers of the whole country *hangs head in shame*. Oh how much fun it'll be when they start volunteering to campaign for the extreme right wing party and constantly stop me in the street to "have an honest discussion about the current state of France". My wine and curse word consumption is going to go up by at least a full 100% for the next five months, I can already tell...

Commercials are annoying, but they're a whole lot easier to walk away from than little old men and women.

On a somewhat related note, I'm so grateful for all of you here on the GS board. It's a real sh*t storm over on the NSBR. I really can't take it any more, and blocked a few peas for the very first time ever. I normally spend most of my time on NSBR, but I am only going there for one thread a day now. I am spending more time on another MB, where most of the forums I read ban politics, so you really have to search to find it. It is not that I want to live in ignorance, but the emotions are just too much right now. sleepingbooty - we have elections here next year too, though we don't vote directly for the president; it is for the parliament. I think I am going to either pretend not to speak German, or just outright tell people that I'm not a citizen, so no use trying to convince me as I can't vote.

Hopefully it will be today's entry in my 30 Days of Thankful project. Oops, looks likes that didn't work out.

I'll be including information about the election in my PL spreads. The kiddos and I stayed up late watching the election results because we have an extended family member who works as a political analyst on television and I want to document that story. Also, our family had plenty of discussions about the election and I want to record our thoughts and feelings. The failure of a local referendum that would have had a major impact on our family is another memory I want to record. And if I'm being 100% honest, I am really excited to use KPs election stamp set. We live in a state that mails ballots so there are no cute "I Voted" stickers for my scrapbooking.

I will be doing a layout on my feelings on election night and the incredible moment in the history of my country. Absolutely!
