I watched. I think it's an awesome series. Definitely this years hit for me. He can appear so wish you washy, then pull something off that just shocks everyone and shows his backbone of steal. His wife needs to get onboard with him though, and quite making secret deals behind his back. I laughed about the "going to Canada" plane.

Love this show.
Sutherland is fantastic.
And the timing of this episode turned out to be perfect.

Loved it! It's one of only a few shows that I try not to miss every week.

What happened to the suspected terrorist in the cell? Did he kill himself or did someone kill him? It was dark and hard to tell.
Good episode tho!

Jill I'm pretty sure he was poisoned, did you notice the white foam around his mouth? I don't trust Kimble or MacLeish at all. I think they're working together.

I don't trust Kimble or McLeish either. I don't know if they're working together. I don't think she would have been so helpful about room 105 if they were in on it together.

I'm now wondering if I watch this online? Surely? I'm horrible at remembering when shows come on each week. But I'd kinda like to see this one. Maybe after the first season I'll just binge watch the season...

Why did McLeish turn down Speaker of the House, but accept the possibility of VP? So if something happens to Kirkman, he's now Pres?
Lots of behind the scenes strings being pulled.

Good point but being helpful pointed Hannah right at all the 8 construction workers who died of "natural causes".

I love every episode of this show. This week's was so timely, it really did affect how I was feeling after Tuesday.
I don't think Kimble and MacLeish are in cahoots. I think she is just a typical politician from the opposing side. I think she's politically ambitious and not above dirty politics, but she's not evil. I feel like her purpose is to point out that even the dirtiest politics are no comparison to trying to destroy our country.

One more thing, I love that Kirkman said he was an independent and not with either party. It was important to hear that the show is not specifically taking sides in this difficult time. He may be liberal, but he doesn't have the baggage of the major parties.

And I agree with you that Kimble isn't evil. In fact (so far) I rather like her. She has shown a wide streak of decency I think, but she is definitely not accepting the new President without reservation. And that's how I think it would be in real life. I LOVE the moral character of this President and I'm glad to see a show that doesn't follow the lines of House of Cards which I gave up watching because I couldn't find a single person to like on the show.

Im starting to get annoyed with his speech patterns. Sometimes he whisper-slurs his words. Other times he starts doing the Donald Sutherland thing of over pronouncing everthing.
i see potential but not quite there yet. For me. But I still like the show and will keep watching.

I am trying to figure why the plane was even allowed to come to the USA.
And I really wish they would give us a bit of a clue of what is going on.

In our house we are on the fence over the black man who supervises the investigator woman. We cannot decide if he is in on the plat or if he is a good guy who is concerned. He tells her to keep everything to herself. Is that so she doesn't clue others in in case they have to take her out or is it to protect her and the investigation?

I think he told her to keep everything to herself because they don't know who they can trust at this point. Who didn't know that Mike was going to get shot? I go back and forth on whether he should trust his chief of staff. Seems like he's pushing McLeish awfully hard. We love the show.

I am enjoying it. I thought there were shades of the West Wing with the possible press romance. DH even said "if he does the bloody Jackal I'm never watching this again ". 😀😀
The guy who plays McLeish is an Aussie actor who played an autistic man in a show I watched recently. I am having trouble seeing him in this role as he was so excellent in the other show you would have sworn he wasn't acting.
Sutherland voice has always annoyed me but I am liking him in this show.
Looking forward to seeing how it all pans out.

He used his informant to get info on the Kirkmans that he can use as leverage against them. I think Emily is going to fall hard for him, then find out he's involved somehow.

I think that he expected to be the only survivor. I think he was surprised that there was a designated survivor. I think he is a part of the entire plot. He knew before hand what was going to happen I knew to go to room 105! Love the series! I don't miss an episode. I've got it on record

Well, so far I think Aaron's OK. I think it just took some time to come on board. But I wouldn't put money on that--I could be wrong
