Not this chick.... I checked online at 7 this morning, our local Walmart (smaller town) had them in stock. So I went there at 8 - they were gone by 7:05. SO I changed my plans to go to EB Games for 9:30, and went right away. I stood in line from about 8:36 in the freezing cold with my coffee and chatted with the others in line for over an hour when staff started handing out slips. I was FOURTEENTH in line - they got NINE. So the Walmart got 18, but the actual gaming store? NINE My legs are still trying to thaw But the store did say they were told more would be coming. Maybe not in time for Christmas, but more would come. Sigh.....I had planned to waste my day rescuing Princess Peach.

No, and DH really, really wants one. I work full time, so getting up and going early in the morning was not in the cards for me! There are several assholes selling them on ebay for hundreds of dollars, which just pisses me right off!

I still have the original Nintendo classic and tons of games. My girls got it from Santa in elementary school. They are now 33 & 35.

When the Wii came out, there were drawings. I happened to get up at 4 am in January to go to a drawing for 20 Wii's and there were 19 people in line... it might take a while but you'll get one eventually!
DH actually got me a NES/Super NES/Sega thing (I can't remember the name) for my birthday latst month. It doesn't come with games though, I have to find the cartridges on e-bay.

I wish, ds was out this morning on his day off said a local Walmart didn't know what he was talking about The Gamestop nearby had a line out the door and he wasn't standing in it for me, lol. I checked out another Walmart and they had no idea what it was. ds had been in one local to his work yesterday and the clerk was talking to him about it so i'd guess they had some. I was hoping to get one, but guess it's not going to happen.

My son was first in line at his walmart this morning and he got 2 of them. One for him and one for his brother. Now I find out my son-in-law would like one, so we're hoping to find another one before Christmas.

None for me. I tried. I failed. I'll keep trying, though in case stores keep getting them in.

For once I can say ME!!!
Went to Target at 7:30, was about 12th in line. Guy came out and said they got 4 in.
Walked right next door to Best Buy and was 2nd in line. They came and handed out tickets at 9:30. They received 21.
Didn't luck out on an extra controller, but did get a joystick and extension cable.
Felt like Black Friday!

I still have the original Nintendo classic and tons of games. My girls got it from Santa in elementary school. They are now 33 & 35. Me too, and the Super Nintendo which I prefer. We got it when I was around 8 or 9, I'm now 32. People can pry the consoles and games from my cold, dead hands. A few years ago I bought Retro Duo system for $50 that was capable of playing the old Nintendo games. It was even styled similarly to a Nintendo. So I'm not sure why this new Nintendo system is such a big deal, maybe just because the games are pre-loaded?

I did. I first went to Target and was the 22nd in line, but they only had 16. I went directly afterwards to Toys R Us and I was 8th in line and they had 10. They took others names and phone numbers for a future release. Neither place had controllers. I pre-ordered extension cords online with Game Stop.
I originally planned to sleep in due to being zapped with super bad allergies, and I guess I still did waking up at 7:15 am. But knowing it was high on my son's Christmas wish list made me throw on clothes and leave without eating breakfast to get to the store. I ended up having fun conversation with the guys in front and back of me at both locations, seeing a couple from my Target excursion who were animatedly waving at me at Toys R Us from the end of the line. In a way it was a fun excursion and my teen was super appreciative. I was also impressed how both stores had it very orderly. Now to hunt down one more controller.

I didn't, but I also have the original, and it works, and it's mine. I want to get two, though, one for each of my boys. My youngest is on the Nintendo 64 right now. It's fun listening to his friend that has never played the N64 or any of the games.

My 23 year old mentioned it and then went on to act like he didn't want one. So whether he wants one or not, I'm getting it!!!!

I had a email reminder for the ones Amazon got and then totally forgot to go in Amazon at 4pm that day. I was sitting in the couch watching tv when I remembered at 415pm. Of course they were sold out in seconds. Wanted to kick myself. Now they're going for $4000 on eBay! Fuckers

I downloaded Super Mario Bros from the Nintendo app store on our Wii so we can play the classic game. I think they had Zelda too.

They do it for marketing purposes. Higher demand created by the buzz of not being able to get one. Guarantees they'll Sell out every time. Bastards.

My husband never gets rid of anything, so we have the original from way back. He also has the whole Atari setup. Every now and again my son gets it out and plays with them.

Fuckers Oh, it wouldn't have mattered, I left work early so I would be home at 5ET (the time of that sale was BS if you live in the Eastern time zone). DS and I were sitting there ready to go with 3 different devices and never even got close to getting one. The whole thing is crap. Nintendo knew that the item would be in high demand, but purposely didn't produce enough, Amazon is currently letting people who purchased one for $59.99 sell them for hundreds of dollars on their website. People are douche - if you want one, buy one. If you don't, then leave it for someone who does.

It was like this when they were originally released in the 80s. At least where I live, it was. It was next to impossible to get one, and when a store got some in, it was just a few, and they were sold within minutes.

Wow. I have one from the mid 1990s I'm pretty sure. I know I had it before my kids. It still works as I played with them off and on over the years.
Who knew it would be popular again.
I did love it!

I still have an 8 bit NES and a ton of games. I don't know if it still works. I actually have 3 of them. I had one, it quit working. I bought a replacement on ebay and it didn't work so the seller said to keep it and sent me another. I think in the meantime, the original one started working again.

I still had my original from 1988 until a few years ago. It finally quit working. Had the guns and about 25 games. I only ever played Mario Bros though.

We did not. I really want one. My husband really wants one. Everyone I know from the 80s really wants one! Can't help but be seriously annoyed at Nintendo for under producing these. We figure we'll get one for Easter.

And it just sold out again on Walmart. In less than a second. I had it on my laptop and iPhone. Refreshed right at 4pm, hit add to cart on both and then hang time and epic fail. Sold out.
