I'm not sure what is for dinner. I think I might do PW's chicken tortilla soup. For some reason, nothing comes to mind and the soup will please 2 out of 3 people in this house. Picky eater loves this soup and non-picky eater doesn't like it. Go figure. What's on your menu? Have a great Thursday. I get the Raley's Chicken Tortilla soup on occasion and I have to water my portion down and it still brings tears to my eyes. Cleans out the sinuses that's for sure!

Hubs worked away from home tonight, so dd had a crazy sandwich (her bread with peanut butter, bananas and honey) with 2 tangerines on the side; ds had frozen pizza; I turned leftover roast chicken into a backed chimichanga, which is also what hubs and I had for lunch.
If dh leaves his business dinner at a decent hour, he'll bring home a few sushi rolls which I will have as a midnight snack and the kids say they will eat for breakfast. Keeping our fingers crossed for an early evening.

It does have 1/4 tsp chile powder, but that's it. Honestly, I've never tasted it. So, I'll ask dh to rate it on a spicy level of 1-5.

Tuna sandwiches for the adults and pizza for the kids. They won't even try the tuna. How do you know you won't like something if you have never tasted it?

lucyg , good to see you! If I get a pecan pie from Costco can I freeze it until Thanksgiving and have it defrost and taste normal? Just wrap it well before putting in the freezer and it will be fine. miominmio , when your son won the National Championship, I had mentioned it to my son and we both thought it was quite impressive. What an accomplishment! We both wish him well this year. My ds is a former wrestler and we are well acquainted with making weight, so I told him about the spinach soup. He got knowing look on his face and said, "That's a sad, sad dinner." It absolutely is! It smells like grass, it looks like grass and my bet is that it tastes like grass, too. I have seen him happier at dinner time. I have promised him burgers on Sunday. And thank you, both your DS and you, for your wishes.

I think my mom did too I was terribly picky growing up, and there is still food I would refuse to eat unless I was on the brink of starvation (escargots and octopus being two of them).

Ended up being Broccoli cheddar quiche and a salad My mom used to make this back in the day - it was one of my favorites. Sometimes she'd do a breakfast one. I tried it once when we first got married and the cream didn't set right or I must not have mixed something right cause it never did set up! I was so bummed. The little mini quiches at Costco are some what close when I need that kind of fix!

Egg casserole type things are a mainstay in this house.
