Also, last week Trump tweted that the NYT is losing hundreds of thousands of subscribers. The NYT had to put out a statement denying subscriptions are down. Well, I just subscribed for the first time ever. I'm guessing I'm not the only one. Where are these "hundreds of thousands" who are cancelling subscriptions? The people of NYC don't really like Trump, so probably not them. Oh, wait...it's just another thing that His Orangeness pulled out of his ass and tweeted without any sort of data or proof to back it up.

I read in NYT last night that they've received 41,000 new subscriptions since the election.

I got this from Dan Rather's FB...here's the latest tweets and the media slamming: AND read the NYtimes response!!!
Donald Trump cancels his scheduled meeting with the The New York Times today, announcing it in a series of early morning tweets saying:
I cancelled today's meeting with the failing @nytimes when the terms and conditions of the meeting were changed at the last moment. Not nice.
Perhaps a new meeting will be set up with the @nytimes. In the meantime they continue to cover me inaccurately and with a nasty tone!
The failing @nytimes just announced that complaints about them are at a 15 year high. I can fully understand that - but why announce?
The New York Times responded saying: "We were unaware that the meeting was cancelled until we saw the President Elect's tweet this morning. We did not change the ground rules and made no attempt to. They tried to yesterday — asking for a private meeting and no on-the-record segment, which we refused to agree to. In the end, we concluded with them that we would go back to the original plan of a small off-the-record session and a larger on-the-record session with reporters and columnists."
This guy is a pathological liar! Tony Swartz had him pegged so right!
I think it's particularly telling that Trump is baffled by the NYT announcing criticism against them. It's called transparency. The Times has an ombudsman who regularly reviews complaints, writes about them in his column, and actually criticizes the newspaper himself. And significantly, the complaints about the Times election coverage include many criticisms that HRC was not covered fairly. And not for nothing, the complaints can come from anybody who claims to be a reader. Even Mr. Trump and his campaign. Also, last week Trump tweted that the NYT is losing hundreds of thousands of subscribers. The NYT had to put out a statement denying subscriptions are down. Trump is trying to undermine and destroy our free press. I hope that the NYT and other reputable media will continue to pushback on his nonsense. He doesn't get to control the press in this country and the sooner he accepts that, the better for the whole nation-him included. Save

I subscribed recently, and have more than a few friends and family IRL that have done the same. Same goes for WaPo.

But gmcwife1 isn't a conservative, or at least, she isn't a Republican. She's independent and voted third party. So she's kind of neutral. I truly don't understand how she or anyone could read @lynlam 's post, read our responses (well, mine ... I already don't remember what the others said) and complain that WE are the ones who don't want a serious discussion. Look at the totality of the thread Forget lynlam's post - does the thread in it's entirety say 'We really want to talk to you and understand this'. To me it doesn't, to me it's a bunch of like minded people talking to each other and patting each other on the back saying 'see, this is what they did and now we are all screwed'. Which we are, but that doesn't really leave it up for discussion because it's placing blame and people don't want to talk when they are being blamed for the downfall of their country. And thank you - no I'm not a conservative, I'm very much in the middle. Though I have to say I probably defend the underdog way too much, so that is probably why it seems I'm defending them. I'm used to being the buffer between employees and management. I don't think this particular thread was meant to be a back and forth of opinions. I'm not sure anyone actually would or could defend Trump's obvious conflicts of interest. I am willing to discuss differing opinions when appropriate, but it is apparent that Trump voters for the most part don't care to be disagreed with. I guess you can say the same for Hillary voters, but it certainly isn't limited to us, and that seems to be what you said in your first post (and what many Trump voters are complaining about). As far as @lynlam's comments go ... they were nothing more than "but Hillary is a crook, too!" (Unsupported by the evidence, but I guess that's beside the point.) Not a rational discussion point by any stretch of the imagination. That is why I took exception to your agreement with her and further discussion about how Hillary supporters don't want to actually have any back and forth.

Sorry lucyg I saw her say it was hysterical, but did not see her last word of hypocrites. Long 9 hours of auditing and I missed that. Ok, you guys can forget I was here and carry on I didn't realize she called you a name <damn it> Hopefully the next conservative that shows up will do it without the name calling. LOL, it's okay. I barely even noticed the hypocrite comment. @lynlam always livens up the conversation and I just kind of take the insults for granted and don't take it personally.

just wanted to put this here: it's Seth Meyers from The Late Show with Seth Meyers- he talks a bit about Hamilton and Mike Pence, but towards the end there's a quote from Bannon, and some (scary) information about Trump discussing Trump hotels with some potential foreign business partners. Late Show with Seth Meyers- Hamilton and Conflict of Interest

I just don't get how when someone points out a wrongdoing, the supporters of the person perpetuating the wrongdoing always just come out and say "Well, so and so did this!!" If they feel that what THAT person did was wrong, why would then then give the other person a pass. Why can't any Trump supporter just be honest and say, "You know, that IS troublesome." Instead it's this constant defense of him, with the best they can muster as an attack on something Hillary did, which was already cleared.

Surprise, surprise, surprise. Here we go: Twitter briefly went wild on Nov. 21, with a story alleging that president-elect Donald Trump and had pressured Argentinian president Mauricio Macri to push through a stalled project for a Trump Tower in Buenos Aires in a phone call a week earlier.... The story—soon denied by Macri’s office—was poorly sourced, and soon left behind by the news cycle, in favor of Macri’s announcement that Trump’s daughter Ivanka had also been on the call. However, news and reports surrounding the phone call leave a lot of questions, particularly given the widespread concerns around Trump’s conflicts of interest. Three days after the phone call between Trump and Macri on Nov.14, Trump’s associates at Buenos Aires firm YY Development Group announced that the project would go ahead, in an interview with La Nación (Spanish language). The tower’s construction had reportedly been held up for years, for various reasons, YY Development actively restarting construction permit requests when pro-business Macri took over from statist former president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner in Jan. 2016.

He hasn't even been at this two weeks and already he's mixing his kids, his business, and the country's businesses together. He isn't even technically President yet. What's he going to do when he is if he is acting this way now? I asked a question on my FB the other day, I was concerned, and I was told that "he isn't even president yet, so let it go and don think about it". I was shocked because this pres elect is appointing people NOW--when are we supposed to be concerned? After it's all done?

Late Show with Seth Meyers- Hamilton and Conflict of InterestIt's amazing. I do believe those who voted for him really don't care about anything he does as long as he blocks immigration and lets them keep their bullets. What did he say about that? Something like, he could kill someone and they wouldn't care? SaveSave
