No one is disputing what you've said here BUT there are official diplomatic channels to discuss all this and Trump has obviously confirmed that he does not have the experience, judgement or wisdom of how world/foreign politics works. For a man, who, in a few weeks time will be filling a very powerful position, to be so naive is downright dangerous to everyone, not just the US. I can't believe that someone in that position can be so stupid, I really can't. How can someone know so little end up where he is?
Because. Benghazi. Emails. Hillary and Podesta cook and eat babies in the back of a pizza joint. Hillary threatened to kill Bernie Sanders family if he didn't endorse her.
Doesn't matter if any of it's true. It just feels good.
LOCK HER UP!
Yeh I know heather I was talking to myself really not asking a question I keep asking myself the same damn question and I can't find the answer however hard I try...my mind can't fathom any explanation for it.

I agree with your points and if Trump wanted to discuss them in a thoughtful, knowledgeable way that is fine, but he's basically thumping his chest and spouting off in a way that is dangerous. (not that you are defending his TT's, just my general thoughts). Part of my wonders if he is ramping up and trying to find a way to get out of being president. No one can possibly know what’s really going on in his head. However, I don’t think he’s trying to get out of being President. The power and the opportunities afforded by the office are too seductive to turn away from. He loves power too much. Additionally, his position opens up so many avenues to further enrich himself, during and after his tenure, IF that is one of his personal goals. Power and money - that combination alone is probably enough incentive for him. But, it’s all speculation on my part. As to what he can or cannot get away with remains to be seen. That’s why I believe it’s terribly important for people to continuously talk/discuss/debate issues and for forums like this to continue with vigor, especially with this presidency. At the very least, it makes people aware of what’s really going on so they can use their rights via their senators and reps to insist on accountability.

I'm just sitting here waiting for America to be great again. Will someone let me know when that happens? Just make sure you finish that bag of popcorn first!

I wonder what those dumbasses will say when he pisses China off just enough to call in our debt? It's only $1.157 TRILLION, no biggie. He will just put the US in bankruptcy, because that is how he rows. Make America great again like all of the bankrupt Trump businesses are so great now.

At this point we have to have faith in our diplomats. That's what I'm telling myself anyway. My dh is one of those diplomats, who at this moment is in Sri Lanka. Right this minute he's probably getting ready to go out to dinner with some Sri Lankans and others from our embassy. His visit is unrelated to Trump but since diplomats are "on" all the time there is always an opportunity to represent us well. We have to hope that my dh's counterparts in China, and China's version of my dh here, are doing just that. ugh. Please thank your dh for us

You know..I have been thinking a lot about what Tony Schwartz had written about Trump, his ego and his sociopathic tendencies. I can't stop thinking that Trump ran because Obama and Seth Myers teased him. I can't stop thinking that at that moment in time, Trump vowed to get even. His pea brain told him that he MUST make them pay for what they said. Trump, after all, is the greatest human being in the free world. He is the richest and most prolific businessman and a celebrity to boot.
I can't help but think, this will be Trump's revenge. His own crazy, psycho revenge on the Office of the President.
It's not about the job, oh no, it's about proving Obama wrong and he will take everyone down with him just to boost his own ego. He was made fun of and now they will pay. He will show them!
It's the only thing I can think of that makes any sense of all this.

Oh my God, that orange buffoon...I can't believe anyone can defend him. An exact quote from my Trump supporting family member: "Finally getting a president who's not a pussy and will stand up to China and call them out on their shit instead of sucking their dick like the Democrats." I do hope this person is in the military and ready to put his life on the line for this sentiment. Cripes we live in terrifying times!

I just wouldn't want to be either Lorne Michael's or Alec Baldwin (or NBC's CEO, Jeff Zucker for that matter) after the election. With all the fake news during the election, I wouldn't be surprised to read about; Lorne Michael the pedophile or Alec Baldwin the Devil worshipper, in the future. Free speech be damned. If you piss off the man, I do believe he will find a way to come after you.

It's the only thing I can think of that makes any sense of all this. He had a presidential campaign back in 2000 (?), and was actually entertaining the idea of running in the late ‘80s. I read the book, “The Making of Donald Trump,” and I believe that’s where I got the info from. It was a library copy so I no longer have it to reference. No, I don’t think his run is related to any Obama slight, although I agree that he is vindictive. Other reputable authors apart from David Cay Johnston have chronicled that behavior.

I try to avoid that branch of the family tree as much as I can though, too much drama and instability. He and his wife are a complete dumpster fire. The kind who have "haters" and refuse to take responsibility for any of the reasons why their life sucks. It's always someone else's fault that their behavior has consequences.

Well they got what they wanted, someone who wasn't a professional politician. The problem is is that everyone has to pay the price for his childish and idiotic behavior. Well, when we go to war because of this asshat, I hope all the people who voted for him have go fight on the front lines or send their sons or daughters before anyone else. Because, you know, Trump is the end all be all. Too far. We do not need to wish anyone, nor their families, loss of life just because they chose to vote one way or another. We're all Americans. We're all Humans.

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are reportedly house-hunting in Washington"Future first lady Melania Trump will remain in Manhattan when her husband takes office, but incoming first daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, are reportedly planning to make the move to Washington. They are house-hunting in D.C., CNN reports, a move that underscores Kushner's importance in the Trump White House, where he is expected to take a senior leadership role."

That's all well and good but I'm not going to allow MY children to be sent to fight in some war started by this moronic sociopath. As far as I'm concerned, those that wanted him can carry that burden alone.

Oh my God, that orange buffoon...I can't believe anyone can defend him. Talking about the South China Sea on TWITTER for fucks sake. Twitter. Our President-elect. He has no idea how contentious that area is because he has NO IDEA. Looks like people got exactly what they wanted- a President as ignorant as they are. Congratulations. Perhaps he should sit down and watch an episode of Madame secretary because it's public enough knowledge for the show writers to address lol. So it isn't a state secret that they'd tell him in those briefings he's skipping.

I wonder what his business history with China is. This summer the NY Times reported that he is about $650 million in debt and a large portion of that is to the Bank of China.

Oh I completely understand that, too. It's a sucky situation any way you slice it. But making a blanket statement like that just rubbed me the wrong way. There are plenty of good people who voted for him. And no doubt some assholes too. But nobody's kids need to be punished for their parent' choices. It blows my mind that we as a country should even have to be worrying about this. I'm more angry, I think, at whatever bigwigs in Washington didn't nip this in the bud a year ago, than the collective voters themselves.

I disagree. I don't think anybody wish loss of life on most people. But yeah, I can stand behind sending the children of the people who voted for this dumbass before my child is sent. You (general you), you got him. Now deal with the consequences I agree in general terms as well. All the evidence was there that he was going to be a loose cannon/disaster well and truly for every step of his campaign. People ignored that and still voted for him. So in theory...I agree, if you make a deliberately poor political decision with your vote in the face of overwhelming evidence - then the people who made it should be first to suffer the consequences of that vote. Not really going happen, but "in theory" I agree. It's not like he played Mr Nice guy and fooled everyone and now he's suddenly morphed into some evil villain that no-one could have predicted. He was the ego-centric, self serving, irrational, pussy grabbing villain all along and people still voted for him. A lady I work with has sons aged 14 & 16 and she said that she sat her boys down after the election and told them that she was sorry, but she was going to have to break both their legs if Trump gets the USA (and Aussie allies) into a war. She said she's not sending them off to fight any war this dick creates. We didn't vote for him and my kids aren't paying the price for other people's stupidity. Of course she was joking...but the underlying sentiment is what a lot of people are feeling. This isn't about one political party winning and the other side being pissed off, this is about electing a man with a seriously deficient personality and a volatile temperament into the highest position of power...and we have enough examples in history to show us that never ends well.

There are plenty of good people who voted for him. While they may be "good people" they sure exhibited some exceptionally poor judgement. And they have no excuse for that poor judgement because they had plenty of evidence and examples that told them exactly how this would play out...and they made the bad choice anyway.

I almost want to move away from the DC area and no, I'm not kidding. Is there NO ONE in his inner circle with the small amount of common sense to have a Twitter intervention with him? I sincerely hope that all those he's pissing off via his Twitter ravings don't decide to lock & load financially or otherwise. God forbid. I keep wondering the same thing.
