I'm about half-way through The Silent Sister by Diane Chamberlain. About a family full of secrets, it's somewhat suspenseful and gripping. I'm enjoying trying to untangle the web of mystery. I enjoyed The Silent Sister. Have you read any other of Chamberlain's books? That was my first and I'd love a recommendation on another. Paige. I have read a few Diane Chamberlain books and I really enjoy her writing! Necessary Lies is one that I gave 5/5 stars to - so good! I also really liked The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes. I've added The Silent Sister to my TBR List.

I'm currently listening to Superficial by Andy Cohen - it's good! I enjoy Andy a great deal so the book is great! I just finished reading Take Me With You by Nina Jones and gave it a 4/5 stars. It's not for the faint of heart, that's for sure but I liked it!

I just finished None of the Above by I.W. Gregorio which was about a girl who finds out that she's intersex. I gave it 5 stars.
Now I'm reading The Patron Saint of Butterflies by Cecilia Galante about two girls who are living in a religious cult. I'm only 30 pages in, but so far it's keeping my attention.

I am going to finish Homegoing tonight. I am really liking it! As many have said it is quite an accomplishment to tell a whole family's story in a chapter per person!
I am almost done with Fantastic Beasts and have started The Sun Is Also A Star and hope to finish those two before the end of the year. That will get me close but not quite to my goal of 60 books (dang Candy Crush!).

I finished an excellent kid lit book called Circus Mirandus.
DD is two books away from finishing all of the state award books for this school year...this one was only my 3rd, lol.
In the adult realm I'm reading David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell. Always enjoy his work.

I finished The Couple Next Door a few days ago. While it was a page turner to a certain extent, I thought it didn't have any real character development or likeable characters...thought about skipping to the end and reading just the end but I did (mostly) read the whole thing (3/5 stars)
Currently reading The Hike. It has been on my library e-book hold list for a while since I read the sample from Amazon and was intrigued. Not my usual type of book..I am a couple chapters in so will let you know.

I didn't actually get a book read this week but I was on Goodreads and found my stats for the year and thought they were pretty cool!
I don't read nearly the amount that some Peas do but I did make my goal for the year.
41 books (40 was my goal) 13,010 pages shortest book- Holidays on Ice at 176 pages longest book- The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair- at 643 pages average length- 325 pages Most popular on Goodreads- The Alchemist Least popular on Goodreads- NPR Funniest Driveway Moments My average rating 3.8 stars Highest rated book on Goodreads that I read this year- When Breath Becomes Air- which happens to be the last book I read this year so far!
If I read one more book (which I am working on) I will have read the exact amount of books I read last year!
Thanks for all the great suggestions over the years Peas!!

I've just started reading The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo, the autobiography (sorry, femoir) by Amy Schumer. I have only read the first couple of chapters. Some of it seems a little self indulgent but overall I am enjoying it so far.
