for it.
It was suggested that if you do a lot of texting that using Google Voice is an easier way to do it. The woman who suggested it said that she texts through her computer using it.
I can type at my keyboard a lot faster than I can text on my phone, so I was thinking about looking into it. Does anyone have any first hand experience with it?
I've Googled and it looks like it's a free service. I just want to know if there are any down sides to it. I want to use it to contact my Mary Kay clients and was thinking that GM might be a more efficient way of texting.

I'm surprised that no one here has heard of it. Bumping just in case someone is familiar with it.

I am not 100% sure, but I think Google Voice is being discontinued fairly soon.
I've used it for quite a while and it's fine. No big complaints, no great love for it either.

I tried it when I wanted a local telephone number (cell area code is from previous home). I didn't like it since it said something like "now being connected to google voice number please hold). I've never used it for text though.
