Did you have a problem with my post? Did anyone have a problem with your post? Not to my knowledge, but then again no one else quoted me and then told me they weren't talking to me, they wanted to see if their sister saw my post, with no other explanation. So it's a fair question on my part. I'm still interested in the research, btw, and looking forward to seeing the HBO program about Henrietta Lacks. Are you going to watch it? I'm asking in light of your thread about her some months ago. I think it will be really good, especially when discussing the ethics of research.

So when you asked if I had a problem with your post you had hoped I would recount a personal conversation with my sister? I guess it's fair for you to wonder and or ask just like it's fair for me to decline to provide any further explanation as to why I wanted my sister to see the quoted portion of your commentary. I will be watching the HBO special. How awesome would it be if right after there was a short 30 min film about the man America coined the father of gynecology? The torturous research on enslaved black women combined with Lacks' immortal cells and I am still more likely to die from cervical cancer than a white woman.

No, I didn't ask for or "hope for" details of your conversation with your sister. I wanted to know why you quoted me and if you had a problem with my post. So I asked. Done and done.

When you inquired I shared why I quoted you without hesitation. It would seem your added "Did you have a problem" was more of a pokey question meant to force me to engage with you though its clear I'd prefer chatting with my sister instead. Done is right. Have a nice night.

I was diagnosed with Stage 2b cervical cancer in December 2007. My pap smear in November 2007 came back normal. The only reason it was caught was the nurse practitioner took a sample from a growth she could see inside my cervix that didn't look normal. Get your pap yearly!
