I view my craft room as one big kit! I don't have scrappy friends anymore so I don't go to crops or things like that. I scrap in my room. I have a good stash but after reading some of these threads I realize it's probably pretty minimal compared to some. Its pretty organized (by my disorganized standards!) and I can find most things quickly. I grab photos then sit down and go through my cardstock and patterned paper and choose. Sometimes I start the page right then and sometimes I'll grab a few more bits and bobs first. The closest I come to kitting anything ahead of time is like GrammaDee I have iris bins for certain themes...Disney, Christmas, etc. Actually, not etc. LOL! Just those 2. I have been to one real crop and packing for it was nearly the end of me! I love my room with everything at hand whenever I need it. That said I do envy people with scrappy friends to scrap with....I would just need them to come to MY house so I didn't have to pick and pack! My fantasy is for my next home to have a room where I can have extra tables for friends to come over and play!

I can't do full kits probably because I don't have a lot of embellishments. Like that roll of washi could be used for other layouts I have planned. Once it's out of sight, it's out of mind. My process is get photos, find sketch, and find paper. Put all in a sheet protector. Look through all of my embellishments and die cuts. Get post it notes and make lots of notes of what I want to add; certain embellishments, manual die cuts, die cuts from the Cricut machine. Put the notes inside the page protector until I'm ready to scrap. Once pages are put together with the basic paper and photos, I work on just the die cuts and embellishments. I don't think I could finish a full page at a crop but could get most of it done and add the fun stuff later. I always take post-its with me to crops, too. I do just what you do, add a note about what I want to add at home. It keeps me from packing everything I own.

I am so happy I have kitted lately. I was able to get two layouts done (one from a kit and one from the bash basket challenge) even in all the chaos of having double the kids here while my friend was in the hospital delivering her third. WOOHOO for kits!

I was able to make three kits last night thanks to myboysnme. She had sent me paper during her rak and I finally had a chance to make up some kits. One of the kits started with a pretty Heidi Swapp floral, one was camping/fall themed and the other was primary colors for a boy kit. I had two large ziplocks full of embellishments and alphas from a LSS yard sale in October that I pulled from. I made sure each kit had alphas and embellishments that coordinated without even leaving The YouTube video I was watching. Most of my stash is kitted up. Most is stored in ziplock bags on bookshelves. I do have large kits stored in Iris containers or similar. They would be more for specific vacation albums, December Documented, etc. I also make kits in ziplock bags that are meant to work in multiple albums. For these I tend to start with the 25 packs of papers from Tuesday Morning and pull eight sheets from each pack. That way I can make eight pages. One for each persons album (mine, my three kids, my sister, her three kids). The pages may start with the same papers, but by the time they are embellished they are all different. Because I scrapbook for so many people I love the 25 packs at Tuesday Morning, but I've learned which ones I'll use the most out of. To these kits I add embellishments and alphas, but I try to add more so I can make plenty of layouts. I have found that I love the process of making kits. I also think it makes scrapbooking super easy. Grab a kit that works with whatever pages you want to make.
