Here's a tip:
If you *really* like it, and it's dirt cheap, buy two.
I'm talking foil paper from Target's dollar spot last Thanksgiving, but it applies to nearly every situation.

I keep a recycle trash bin as well as a regular trash bin in my scrap room. It serves as my upstairs recycle bin so I don't have to go downstairs to throw it in the recycling bin. I have both a regular trash bin and recycle trash bin in my scrap room also!! Very convenient!!

I have a tip to share! I actually came across this one from the original 2Peas board, a gazillion years ago, so credit definitely does not belong with me. 😜
After you finish a layout, use the scraps of paper and embellishments left on your desk to make a card or two. You already know it coordinates, or at least, you like the way it all looks together, and if the pieces of paper are small enough, they may normally just end up in the recycle bin anyway, so you aren't using up "fresh paper" and supplies for a card.
Same goes for the end of a kit. Once you've done all the pages you're going to do with the kit, use up the last bits making cards.
Effortless way to build a card stash!

So here is a tip for those of that kit. As soon as your paper comes in from your online or box orders/shopping put it in a large ziploc bag or stiffer page sorter envelope, pull some coordinating embellishments and file it. That way all you have to do is pull it and find some pictures. I find this has helped me a great deal lately, as time is short for scrapping but being able to pull a bag or envie where most of it is already coordinated helps immensely!

You can use your hexagon punch to make tags.
Cut a strip of paper very slightly narrower than the width of your punch. Slip the paper halfway into the punch. Pull the end that's in the punch up and through the punch, pulling it to the length you want your tag to be. Punch. And there you have a tag with a three sided top.
You can also do this with other punches to get different shaped tops.

Keep a tiny basket on your desk, to throw solid white etc cs in there, that way you don't cut into a new piece every time you need journaling strips!
I also just organized all my bits and pieces (die cuts etc) by color and it made a HUGE difference. I also put them in a container right by me and have noticed I am using them a ton more!

I have gathered scraps in a large butterfly clip batching them in different sizes then I just put them in a "scraps" cropper hopper...when I need a certain sized scrap I reach in and have them together. really helped me use a lot of them

So many great ideas! Mine are a little different.
Not sure if everyone already does this, but it makes travel albums so much easier for me when I finally sit down months later to work on putting the photos and memories in the album. I take photos of signs (restaurant, stores, traffic) so I know the where and can tie it back to the when.
Second thing we always do while traveling is at night while unwinding and getting ready for bed, I ask each kiddo what was their favorite and least favorite thing from that day. I write them in an email that I send to myself so I can't lose them. It is amazing what they come up with and how their impressions are so different than an adult. Also reading it back months later there are so many small details that could easily be forgotten.

I keep a travel journal while I'm on holidays and always put a top highlights of today list at the end for both me and my SO. The different perspective can be helpful for including more than just my view in the album and, like you, sometimes it's the easy to overlook things that make the list.

There have been many times when I have been thankful afterwards that I remembered to photograph a sign or similar. I also sometimes use photos of the name of a museum or other place as a page title.

I'm another who photographs signs. While I don't print them, I do refer to them on my computer to refresh my memory as to where I was, what I was looking at, etc. throughout the trip. As a matter of fact, I did it just yesterday. I was even able to use some of the information on the sign in my journaling.
City maps make lovely background or layering paper; so do restaurant carryout menus.

When I'm making something. I go to my scrap box first before cutting into new paper.

When we take a beach vacation, I write the destination and year in the sand. I take a picture for the beginning of the album. I then take a picture after the waves have slightly hit it and use it at the end of the album.

My tip has to do with PL cards. I have so many of them. More than I could probably use in a lifetime I'm sure..lol..
But I printed off in color the card reference sheets from Becky's site and I put them in a binder. When I'm looking for a card, I just flip open my book and have a look for the right color or saying that I want and then I can go to that collection and pull out the card(s).
It's so much faster than having to look through all my cards trying to find the right one that I want. It has saved me sooo much time and I find I am using up my collection of PL cards.
I also don't always use the whole card. If I'm just wanting to use a portion of the card, say as an embellishment on a a 12x12 page, I just cut that portion off and put the rest of the card back with the collection. I may be able to use it down the road as an embellishment on another layout.

I take photos of signs, so I know where we were later on. I've even taken a photo of a note I wrote to identify which glacier we were at. It's hard to remember a month or more later.
