My 1st sneak of this kit I was like yes...I like this but the more I see the less I like because of the pink and the curly script....
We are painting the interior of our house and I am officially shades of grey ...so far I've used (all by Benjamin moore) storm, silver half dollar, misty gray and sweatshirt gray , and more bluey constellation. Anyways it got me thinking there are sooooo many paint colours yet in scrapbooking we often see the same colors/combos ...I'm thinking it would be fun to create a thread with color combos we'd like to see but not sure if its been done before?

what the heck with the pineapples--in that grb box from ink road (blech, what a waste of money) i got a ton of glossy pineapple paper. I was like "Oh, thank you, for all my hawaii layouts."

I've subscribed to quite a few kit clubs over the years, and they seem to be less versatile than they used to be. I quit subscribing to them because they weren't enough of my style or it felt like the same old, same old. I got sick of wasting money, so now I just make my own

Although I could do without the pink, the life pages kit at least doesn't seem to have flamingos or pineapples.

There is an unboxing video on YouTube of the April scrapbooking kit. Just search gossamer blue April. T has crate paper oasis in it including the ephemera pack and the new Maggie homes ephemera pack. I liked it as I have a lot of vacation stuff to scrap.

Just saw this sneak on IG of the scrapbook kit. No thank you. Pineapples and flamingos? Can't we just be done with them? There's only one thing I hate more than pineapples in scrapping supplies and that's flamingos. Both are completely useless in New Zealand.

I finally cancelled. Hubby's new job came with a significant pay cut (like 25%) in spite of the union agreement stating they pay year for year on a sliding scale based on experience (so he should have gotten a pay increase). The position he applied for was not the one he got (it was drafted for a specific person, so he wouldn't have gotten it anyway)...the one he got was not budgeted for beyond an entry level person, unfortunately. He loves it there so far and beat out 300+ other applicants...so many things went right that this really is small potatoes compared to where we could have ended up and they have stated they want to move him elsewhere as soon as there are appropriate openings. He even got an admin day gift today and it is only his 8th day there!! He hasn't been this happy at work in 5 years...he can barely wait to tell me about his day, both at lunch and after work. I feel like we have gained more than we have lost so far. TMI, maybe...but not being able to shop as opposed to not shopping by choice makes me want to shop...I need the reminder that the world isn't ending, lol!
To absorb the change, we were able to make 2 (relatively) small changes...one being our allowance...so no more dedicated scrappy budget for me. I have loved GB for the 3 yrs 9 mths I have been with them, but I couldn't justify 2 subs with the changes when I feel more love for one over the other. I am hoping to stalk for $10 kit sales so I can get most of what I miss (just no digis) if we have the money when sales are up and that makes me feel a bit better about it (same kits, less money, more waiting and checking back). I think keeping my Elle's Studio sub will make me happier because I enjoy working with her product so much.

First, I am happy that your hubby has a job that he truly enjoys- boo for the pay cut but you can make it work I have spent times of unemployment due to my disability and I'll tell you first hand not scrappy shopping sucks... At the time, receiving partial disability I was able to put food on the table and a roof over my kids head and that kept me in line..lol I am now on full disability which helps but my fiancee isn't working so that makes it rough. The urge to shop is real, and its hard for me not to, even though I really shouldn't.... For times when I had no budget, or next to none, I made a lot of scrappy embellies myself. I also made page kits out of my stash. I was fortunate enough to have a die cutter, so titles and embellies came from that(BTW, if you don't have one, I could cut you some titles and/or die cuts. Also, there is 2 rak threads, go ahead and check them out. Sometimes a little scrappy mail helps Wishing you the best

I'm sorry that you're not able to shop either...first world problems, but dang, happy mail is called such for a reason, right?! I hope that you are able to find yourself in a better position soon and that your fiancee finds a good job soon! I have plenty of stash to keep me busy for a long, long while...including a Silhouette that I need to use more!! I certainly don't need anything. I've actually really wanted to try doing DIY embellishments, so that's a really good idea on something to try!! Much of my scrappy spending this year has gone to stocking up on adhesives and printer ink thanks to some sales and I feel really good about those purchases, especially now. I'm a sucker for a good sale and just knowing that I'm going to have to restrain myself from most of them makes me a bit sad, but nothing I can't overcome...I know that I'm lucky and there are others who have much bigger worries than mine. I've already worked hard to shop less this year, it's just now that it's necessary instead of being a choice makes me feel a bit stuck. It's not as enjoyable when choice is removed from the equation. I need to work on shifting my thinking from what I can't get into looking forward to being able to use up some of the things I've managed to accumulate over the years...there is so much joy to be had with the things I already own. I just need to adjust.

I'm going to sign up for the scrapbook kit starting in May. Loving the exclusive papers! Does anyone have a referral code they'd like me to use? No referral code needed, just use the name of someone who is subscribed in the notes section when you check out. I'd be more than happy for it to be me, but I don't sub anymore. I'm sure there are others here who would love to have a freebie. I received a full planner kit as my bonus last month...this month is a beautiful 4x6 alpha stamp set exclusive for new subscriptions!

Not kit-related, but does anyone know if GB ever offers free/reduced shipping on their store (non-kit) items? There are a couple things I've considered ordering but the shipping costs as much as the items themselves.

There are a couple things I've considered ordering but the shipping costs as much as the items themselves. Only during kit bundling. So if there is a kit you really like, I suggest subbing and buying it at the same time so you only pay shipping for the kit...but you need to sub during bundling. The code is for free shipoing and 10% off shop items until the 3rd...at noon, I think. I never get addons, so I am not certain on the end time. Then cancel when you get your items. No term commitment.

OH EM GEE. BEST news of the day!! There was a lot of mud slinging going back and forth at my husband's job between the woman who let him go and the second in command. There was a meeting about it that lasted 2 days back in October and nothing was ever done about it. Well, GUESS WHO JUST LOST HER position today after the head of the organization (hubby worked for a local) laid down the law?! That's right!! The person who let him go. And the best part is that the head of the organization is the person who hired him in the first place 16 years ago!!! Not sure where else to post it since I've mentioned it in a few places, but since this is the most recent thread, I'll pop it in here.

Didn't realize Geralyn Sy (In a Creative Bubble) designed the May scrapbook kit with all the exclusives. I often like her work, so maybe that's why I was drawn toward this kit. I know some people don't particularly care for her, though.

Did I hear correctly that GB is going all exclusive products now? Yes. I don't know if it will be forever though. They used to do current retail releases with 12x12 exclusive paper but stopped doing exclusive paper a while back. Then they dabbled last summer in exclusive PL kits that lasted only 3 months before they went back to coordinating with a retail line and including that line's ephemera and a few other retail released items. But they started up with exclusive kits again in February and added a planner kit at the same time. Then last month, they teased May adds a TN kit and EVERY kit will coordinate with each other and be entirely exclusive. So it looks to me that they are doing exclusive so they can choose their own color palette. It was one thing when they had exclusive PL kits and retail curated SB kits, but now that 3 of the kits are heavily products that aren't able to be retail releases, it sounds to me like it just made sense to go all exclusive in order to not have one kit stand out or to have one kit determine the color palette for all 4 kit offerings. Clearly speculation...but just my thoughts.

I am loving the life pages kit sneaks for May.... When is the full reveal? Looks like the past few months' kits are still available so no big rush to sub based off just the sneaks.

Other than the Facebook group, which isn't very active, does Gossamer Blue have an active community of people anywhere?
