Last year a bunch of us, including maribeth , LisaDV , texasjen , and justjac took part in Calvinball over at the Get It Scrapped Forum What a blast! It is a month long challenge where we all try to rack up the points, and the competitors make up the rules on how to get those points. To register, you need to post in the Stats thread, and then STARTING MARCH FIRST, add your points in that post each time you complete a project. You are asked to post your creations in the Calvinball Gallery, and since contestants can claim points for commenting on others' creations, it is always fun to go back there and check out what people have commented about your work. And going through that busy Gallery, seeing what everyone else is doing is very inspiring. Then each week, you count up your current points total and let the Leaderboard lady know. There is no rule that you can't share your work other places as well, so last year, I displayed some of my Calvinball entries in the 2peas Gallery as well as over there, and I believe other peas did that too. Also, we can use the monthly 2peas challenges to create projects, and then post them both places! Anyway, if you played Calvinball before, please join us again. If you haven't, I hope you will consider taking the plunge. After yesterday's very successful pop up crop, I think we could really rock that Calvinball board. And they even give you points over there for talking CB up over here! Hope you decide to play!

I only got partway through, and then I had to clean up my mess so DD could use the space for a sleepover. I scrap in a family room / playroom space in our finished attic, and DD's bedroom is the only other room up there, so they have the whole floor today. But I can scrap tomorrow I actually made some pretty good progress, and I have a good assessment of what I have and what's still missing. Maybe I can head down to the basement today and hunt for more of my boxes. All my clear stamps are still down there somewhere, and I want them back!

I checked this out last year but never really got myself together and participate. I definitely want to join in this year. The timing is perfect since I am going to a retreat this weekend and I am usually feeling all kinds of inspired when I get home. Will there be a thread here for people participating? Thanks for mentioning it!!

grammadee , can you explain what Calvinball is? I see you have it in your siggy but what is it exactly? It is a month long on line crop on the Get It Scrapped site. (Link is above). They start with a few simple challenges: finish a page, or a card, or some other project, and assign a point value to each. Then in participants start adding their own challenges, and points are assigned to those: use stamps, or embossing, or 3 pieces of cs, or your own handwriting. By by the end of the month, you can rack up a lot of points for each project you finish: say if you created a page where you used stamps AND embossing AND 3 pieces of cs AND your own handwriting... No prizes, but good friendly competition for points. And lots of scrapping being done.

You can give yourself a point now for registering in February. Then starting March 1st, you add your points into that one post, keeping a running total.

I'm new to CB and won't always remember to check there. When you complete something in March, you should go there first. You can upload your project to their Gallery, count up and claim your points for it in the stats thread. You won't get points for just coming here. And each week, you enter your latest total in their leaderboard. Calvinball people get a little crazy in March, so I don't think you will forget to play once you have started. But hey, if a thread here reminds you to get your points on over there, that works too. But coming over here to let us know what you have accomplished along the way--and sharing with the people on this board what you have done--is MORE than OK!

Last post here for me today before leaving for my dgs's 4th bd party...
When the March challenges pop up on this board, you can always use them for something you create for Calvinball and share it both places.
In fact, if you don't get to the February challenges for the next week, and start on them in March, you can use them for inspiration there, too. (or any of the 2peas archived challenges!)
TTYL!

I'm going to sign up, too. I doubt I'll get very far because I haven't even gotten any pics ready to print in ages, but at least I'll start.

Just food for thought, I scrap using photos I just print on plain paper from my computer and then I order the photos after I put the page together. As long as you don't layer a bunch on top of photos this should work. I scrap like this all the time, that way I know exactly what size to order.

Thanks, grammadee for posting this here. It looks like the Peas are totally going to dominate this year! I'm so ready! Pea Participation looks great. That is why I think we should have a similar event here. We need to mix it up a bit as we don't want to copy, but I would love to have something in the Summer.

I'd love something in the summer if I'm available (we may be in the middle of more renovations). But I also don't want it to be CB, just something similar. You are awesome for tackling this. Let me know if you need help, I'll do whatever you need.

For me, May or October would work best for an intense crop. The summer is usually full of gardening and grandkids. And while justjac and I usually get together for a couple of mini crops together in the summer, the dates have to fit in with everyone else's schedules. I think LisaDV is planning on doing something for Christmas in July.
