Thanks to your young man for standing up to bullies especially after suffering himself. I have noticed that the young people of today seem more accepting of human differences than my own generation were when I was growing up and trying to "fit in" as a disabled teenager and adult. I fostered teenagers a few years ago and they are most definitely my favourite humans/aliens

Congratulations on an amazing son! So often we doubt our parenting and do they ever listen to us and then it's times like this that it confirms we done good!

So often people chose not to get involved. It takes courage to stand up against bullies, especially at his age & in those circumstances. He did the right thing! I'm discouraged, however, that it seems others didn't join him to protect the disabled man.

I know, but he told me this was at the back of the bus and most of the other passengers were sitting in front, not noticing. The bus driver caught on though, so maybe others should have too.

Given other passengers didn't have a rear view mirror like the driver, I can understand how they may not have been aware of the heckling in the rear of the bus. It also highlights your son's bravery to address the bullies alone! Hope the teens learned a lesson from him & will not engage in future harassment.

You should be proud of him, he is a hero to that man on the bus. I HATE bullies, they are just cowards trying to prove something. Makes me sick. Congratulations mom!

That was an amazing thing that your son did. Isn't it crazy how we get so weighed down with things and then something like what your son did happens--it's always a good thing to get those reality checks about the more important things in life!
