My husband has started taking bagged lunches to work a few days a week to curb the effects (and cost!) of restaurant food every day. I usually have Italian bread on hand because I like it for toast, but I want to make healthier sandwiches for him. Do you have a bagged whole grain brand that you like? I'd prefer normal size slices (some brands are huge) and as moist as possible. He hates dry bread.

Dave's
Think about making an extra portion of dinner for his lunch, as sandwiches get tiring.
My husband loves loves loves chicken salad with grapes, apples, walnuts and dried cranberries. Mayo to hold it together.

Daves killer bread is our fav. We like the good seed kind. It's pretty pricey, and not available everywhere. But try it if you can find it!

I like Sara Lee 100% whole wheat Delightful.
They are sliced thinner than usual breads and therefore only 45 calories a slice.
They also have no high fructose corn syrup.

I like Helga's but I don;t know if you can get it there. I also tried an Aldi brand recently and that was really good too. I can't remember what it was called and whether it was the same one that @nicksmom mentioned.

Dave's Killer Bread 21 Whole grains. I can find it in either the larger loaf or the smaller sandwich size.

I love Dave's, but on WW it's too pointy for me. I really like the sprouted breads from Trader Joe's. It comes in wheat, multigrain, and rye. I have a sandwich with it every day. It makes particularly excellent toast and grilled sandwiches.

I agree about Dave's breads. I buy the 60 calorie slice kind....and yes, I like it! However, some of my friends call it "bird seed bread"

Have you tried the bakery breads from your local grocery? That's what I usually buy. The day old rack is my best friend.

I have no suggestion. I just wanted to read about bread since I haven't had any in over a year.

Believe it or not, Aldi's Oat Bran. Their 7 grain bread is good, too.

I buy Dave's Killer bread too. I usually buy the thin sliced 45 calorie kind, but when they are out of it, I buy the 21 whole grain regular size. I cut a slice in half to make a sandwich so I'm not consuming too many calories in bread.
My family complains "you only have hay bread???" They all love their white or wheat enriched bread. I don't think it tastes like hay. Lol I think it tastes great!

We really like Orowheat Healthfull - it's 100% whole grain, not as expensive as Dave's and some of the others, and very tasty. Readily available at most grocery stores that I've been to. It has a smaller slice size than most of their regular breads and I think has 80 cal per slice. I like the nuts and seeds variety but they're all good.

Thanks to this thread I bought a loaf of Dave's Killer Bread this morning. I had a slice toasted with my egg whites and spinach and it's really good!

Another vote for Dave's Killer Bread. My DS3 has only ever had wheat bread, so it's never been an issue in our house of white vs wheat bread.

Ezekiel sprouted bread. You keep it in the freezer and use as needed. (Otherwise ours goes moldy so fast as most in the house don't eat bread!)

Orowheat Health Nut. Readily available in grocery stores, 100 calories a slice. I like it toasted, and it makes a great PB&J.

I don't know if you have a Publix up where you are, but all the multi grain breads from their bakery are great.
