I had no idea that he was in Dallas at the time of the Kennedy assassination and was in a picture being held above the crowd that day.

If you want a Bill Paxton cheese, so bad it's good movie, hunt down "Pass the Ammo". This is a swipe at TV evangelist in a Robin Hood type way. I saw this ages ago (probably shortly after it came out). There are lots of big name stars from the 1980-1990's (Tim Curry, Annie Potts, Linda Kozlowski, Anthony Geary) and all the acting is hilarious.

I loved him in Big Love and in real life had no friends who watched it so I would always rush to the Peas to discuss the latest episode. He will be missed.

He was one of those actors who just showed up in so many things and I always had that "Oh good, I like this guy!" feeling when he appeared. Really sad.

Sad to hear this. I finally got a chance to watch the first episode of Training Day and really like it. I hope, when the time comes, they can cast it with somebody as good.

Really loved him as an actor. He had such talent. Could do comedy as well as serious drama and that is rare. I watched "Frailty" in the past which is a movie he directed and starred in. It isn't well known but is an excellent film and in it he play a violent father. During the movie I hated his character so much it was impossible for me to believe it was Bill Paxton. Much the same way in "True Lies" it's hard for many folks to realize that bumbling idiot is Bill Paxton. That's the sign of a great actor.
This is such sad news today.

Haven't read all the posts but was just watching The Talk and he was on several weeks ago and apparently shared backstage that he had the same condition as Allan Thicke and was going into have surgery for it but he wasn't sure they could repair it.
So sad and I had forgotten he was in The Titanic

Dang! Good talent gone so young. Prayers for his family and friends as they grieve.
