I can't decide what spring color to paint my nails! What is everyone wearing now?
I don't like the dark colors on my toes for some reason. I keep my toes painted all year, usually a hot pink or red.

Right now I have Zoya Eastyn on my fingernails. I just got it with my recent order and really like it.

Sally Hansen "Black and Blue" (which is a duochrome that shifts from dark teal, to dark blue, to violet) over Sally Hansen "Slate-r Girl" which is a dark charcoal gray. It's got a peacock feather eye vibe to it.

Answer: Zoya Noah, which is a warm taupe that looks like putty or wet cement. I wasn't sure at first, but I've gotten lots of compliments. ( iamkristinl16 , Eastyn is "on deck" for next week. I think it's lovely.) Question: I'm into nail polish again after...well, decades. Back then, there wasn't the variety of colors available now, and I don't remember polish being categorized by season. So these day, is it verboten to wear dark polishes during summer and whites or sheers in winter? If you see somebody doing that, do you consider it faux paus-ish? (Faux polish-ish?) I've really gravitated toward the Zoya Naturels lines, and it seems like the whole idea of those should be season-less...but then I wonder about the browns in summer... Teach me.

(Zoya Noah) Not at all! Wear what color you want any time of year! I just like to wear hot pinks in the summer (I like coral, just not on me) and the browns in the fall and winter. I am a summer person, and the only thing I like about fall is the pretty nail colors! But even within the "seasonal" nail polish collections, you often see more summer like colors in the fall/winter collection, and the dark browns in the summer collection. So it doesn't always match the season.

I tend to wear more browns/brick red in the fall and winter and grey tones in the summer. I think partly because of the weather and partly because of the clothing I wear in each season. I don't wear bright colors much on my fingers, but do wear them on my toes in the summer.

French on fingers. Currently a taupe-y-grey similar to the picture above on toes. I just do toes in whatever catches my eye, because I don't wear open toes to work, so it doesn't matter. Lately I like the neutrals, otherwise bright like bubble gum pink or dark purple.

(Zoya Noah) I do what I want and wear whatever I like, there are no rules! I do feel more drawn to certain colors during certain seasons, though. Jewel tones and nudes in fall, pastels in spring, neons and glitter in summer, and then of course holiday-colored themes that I enjoy doing.

Since we are discussing nail polish, I have a party on Saturday night and am wearing a navy dress. What colour nail polish should I wear? I am wearing gold and silver accessories. The dress is pretty fancy. Opinions?

I don't suppose you have Zoya Tomoko? It's a fabulous neutral gold/silver texture that looks great with everything. Barring that, I'd go with navy or a neutral gold (as opposed to a yellowy gold). Or you could do a deep classic red.

I don't have Zoya Tomoko but I am going to look it up. Thanks!

I have one of my favorites, Zoya Nimue, on my toes. I'm getting ready to change my fingers from Zoya Pepper (a dark burgundy red) to Essie Miss Fancy Pants (a greige).

I have a gel manicure and the polish I have on is an almost exact dupe for OPI Madam President. I have Madam President on my toes.

I have a darker purple on mine right now - darker than I thought it was going to be. I'll live with it for a couple weeks.
I do the dipping powder at the salon, and as far as I know they don't have names - only numbers

I forget the name of it, but it was the Color Me Monthly January color. It's a dark lavender. I'd post a picture, but I hate my cuticles...always red no matter what.

I'm at two weeks with CND Gold VIP Status gel on my fingers and China Glaze Bottoms Up on my toes. My toes will be fine for another two weeks. Not sure what to do with my nails. I've been wearing gel on my fingers for a few months and it keeps them from breaking, but i really get bored with the same color so long. I have no patience to do gels at home, especially removal.

lisacharlotte you can have them do just a clear base and topcoat and then put your own regular nail polish over the top. You can change it up, and the colors will wear much much longer than on their own. I do my own clear gel base so I can use my regular polish on top. Like you, I get way too bored to keep one gel color on for any real length of time. The max I can handle one color is about a week.
