We go to the beach too, and I have a lot of complaints about people at the beach! But my biggest one is we seem to attract the smokers. It is a smoke free beach, and they have smoking areas right where the beach starts. But they sit near us, and the smoke makes us so mad.

Lucky you and I'm so happy for you! I haven't been to Hawaii yet, but DH and I are planning to visit Kauai and The Big Island when we go. We are interested in The Big Island because of Volcano's National Park-well DH is interested in that, I'm okay with it. Are you planning to see that while you are there?

I'm not sure if I'll get to visit Volcanos Park or go see the lava show this time. I want to, it never gets old, but with the animals, especially the dogs so dependent on me, I'm not sure if I can swing it. I'd have to go to the other side of the island, doable, but it would be a really long day away from the dogs, and one would be late for her medicine. But you absolutely must go! It's magnificent!! Kauai and Big Iskand are my two favorite islands. You can't go wrong. Big island has a higher percentage of actual Hawaiians, and has a true feeling of the culture. No worries, talk story, ohana ( family), real aloha. At least in the circles I move in. Kauai has a laid back, hippieish, rugged feeling. Amazing beaches!!!! And both these places are great for vegans!! Fruit everywhere 😀😀 lots of little stands and farmers markets where you can buy fresh local. |
