It's not as bad as some of the ones that you pull the "sleeves" all the way down and expose all of your shoulders, collarbones, etc (the name of the style escapes me at the moment) I don't like it because of how it makes the breast area look--even small boobs with no bra can be unflattering! Well, that's basically what I wore for an evening out with friends Friday night. It wasn't completely off the shoulder, but rather rode right on the top edge of the shoulder. I have smaller boobs, did wear a bra, and got lots of compliments on my outfit thank you very much. I think the ones I sincerely don't like as much are the ones that aren't up by the top of the shoulder but are pulled way way down so the sleeve is halfway down the arm and it looks like if you make one quick move then your boobies will come popping out. Sometimes women kind of push the edge with that and it isn't to my personal taste.

Definitely not. 1., i just don't really like it. 2. More importantly, I spend every outdoor moment making sure I purposely cover my shoulders to try to make up for years of repeated blistering sunburns I used to get on them, so purposely uncovering them for a fashion trend would be silly of me.

It is stupid and is not flattering on anyone but if it is "in style" most women will wear it.

Oh, and before this I only ever heard of them referred to as "open shoulder" or "Peek-a-boo shoulders". I don't like the name "Cold Shoulder" at all. Blech. Maybe they wanted a new name to make people new to style believe it was a new thing?

I was seriously thinking of starting a thread on this before I saw this one. Hate it, and won't be sad when it goes away. I don't care who it's on. I just don't get it. But hey, whatever makes you happy. Go for it.

I can't wear this style. My boobs and belly are big and my shoulders are very narrow. It seems like to get a shirt to fit in the areas I need it to it is too big in the shoulders. They always fall weird on me.

I have a couple that I never wear, because my bra straps seem to hit at the wrong place. I know the young folks would just let their bra straps hang out, but my momma would disapprove.

I haven't bought any mainly because I remember them the first time around and also because I feel the cold and they won't help and finally because I see them everywhere which sometimes puts me off.

I've made several styles so far this year I love when you share photos of the clothes you've made. I stand in awe of your talent. Lol! Sorry, did not mean to offend YOU Oh, it's all in fun. No offense taken. The world is a vastly more interesting place because we all hold different opinions. Whew!!

I'm not a trend follower so i won't be buying. I remember the cold shoulder style from the 90s. Same for me. I don't really follow trends so they aren't something I will be wearing. I'm also odd that one front pocket feels unbalanced on me so cut out shoulders feel like I'm just missing part of my shirt I actually thought this trend was nearing it's end.

ETA: Not sure why there is such an influx of these tops now. I don't think the trend is new. I have had them in my closet for YEARS. Case in point (I am full of photo evidence tonight!) This pic was taken in December 2013 and I certainly did not craft this lovely shirt myself. haha Ok, me and my cold shoulders are out of here! SaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveThis magenta one is so pretty!! I love the ones that have slits like that. lovely couple, too!!! Thanks so much! He's my favorite! SaveSave

Thought I would find and add a picture of my latest cold shoulder dress purchase though I guess this might be considered off the shoulder versus cold shoulder. I like both!

Thought I would find and add a picture of my latest cold shoulder dress purchase. Just got this in the mail last week. I think it's interesting that people are talking about this style in this thread. To me, off the shoulder and cold shoulder are two separate styles and I've never heard them referred to interchangeably like they are on this thread.

I was just editing my post to say that myshelly. You are right this one is more off the shoulder than what I think of as cold shoulder but I like it for the same reasons.

I like them on my young 20-something daughters (both thin and in shape). On my less-than-in-shape arms at 50 something? Nope. Just got back from California and saw a lot of these shirts.... here in Washington, not so much (but maybe later in the Spring/Summer when the weather isn't so wet?)

Not a fan, although they look better on the 20-40 year olds who are in a bar or dancing. When I see a 50+ women wearing one, I cringe (I'm 53).

I love them! I don't really like my arms, but I do like my collarbone and shoulders, so it's a flattering fit on me. I have one that I would consider "off the shoulder" and 2 that are cold shoulder. One short sleeve, one long sleeve. I prefer the could shoulder ones because they don't require a strapless bra!
I always get compliments when I wear them so they must not look terrible. It's an easy way for me to show a little skin that isn't cleavage, and be cooler (temperature wise) but still covered.

I think they're cute and I bought one last week. I'm 57 and yeah I'm gong to wear it. I don't work these arms to death to keep them covered!

To me cold shoulder and off the shoulder are two different styles. Cold shoulder there are cut outs or slits to expose the shoulder. Off the shoulder is the blue dress above.

This look/trend covers so many different styles, some of which I like, some I hate. When we were in the US recently, we saw A LOT of this type of look and Dad kept muttering about it - he isn't a fan!
