I am jealous!! I've been wanting, but not needing, a new fridge for a few years. I have a pretty badic model and I'm tired of bending low for the fridge contents. My inlaws had the exact model as we had, and last fall it just died. I talked my dh into saving up for a new fridge so we could replace it with what we wanted and when it was on sale before it was an emergency purchase. The dishwasher was a bonus because the sale was so good, and we had the money. The stove works really well, and so we will be holding off on that for a bit longer, just because the one we want isn't on sale right now, and because we decided we wanted to do the back splash now rather than wait. It's far easier to swap out a stove on an afternoon, but we know that once school starts that back splash project won't happen.

Ok....I'm going to save for a fridge and be ready to buy when there's a smokin' deal. What are the best sales? 30%? 40%? I'm going to find the model I want and start paying attention to sales. I looked a couple years ago and know I want a pricey French door model with the freezer on the bottom. I looked at either Samsung or LG...can't recall.
Anyway...my fridge is only about 8 years old, but the plastic frames around the glass shelves are ALL cracked. I have DUCT TAPE holding them together!! And even that's starting to give way. They started failing within a year, and I do have dome replacement shelves to use....but just a few. (I got them when the shelves started cracking under warranty.). So, yeah, I think I'm due for a new one this year!!
Oh, here's a pic of the duct tape!!

Right now there are a ton of sales, I'm not sure if this is the usual time of year or what. I do know that my dh looked at Samsung and talked to people about them and the consensus was that they make really terrible refrigerators. For whatever reason they are not rated very highly. So we skipped them.

Even compared to local places and online, it was over $300 cheaper there than everywhere else we looked. I think the sale goes until the 9th of July, so if you are in the market *right now*, it's a good time to buy.

I would love new appliances, but we rent so upgrading isn't an option. A nice, new washer and dryer would sure brighten my day though! It's always fun to get new stuff, enjoy it!

Haha, I want a new washer and dryer too, but dang if they aren't Maytag and keep on keeping on. My washing machine was just recently repaired, I was SO hoping he would say it was just a goner, but nooooo. He fixed it. Darn washing machine repair guy! I had to rent a machine while parts were backordered and we had a Whirlpool Cabrio, I almost cried when my "perfectly good" washing machine came back repaired.

I love getting something new and shiny for the house!
We're going through a few changes in our family room. Moving around some things, and we got a new tv last week. Next up is a new couch. I can't wait, as the couch we're replacing is 12 years old! I'll miss the old gal, but I'm looking forward to getting a new look in the room.

Bought a dishwasher today at the Home Depot sale. Ours broke last week so the sale was perfect timing. We also got an additional 10% off bc of a military discount. We got a Frigidaire.

Oooooo...Because of you I spent my afternoon shopping for a new fridge! First I looked in stores and was giddy by all the bells and whistles. Then I came home and took some measurements and remembered why I bought such a simple model last time: my space is too small for a big fridge!
But I kept hunting online, looking at specs and FINALLY found one narrow enough and short enough (BARELY!) that will work! Woohooo! I REALLY wanted the middle pull-out drawer. This is what I'm saving up for:
Dream fridge
