I completely cut out caffeine and soda many years ago. My anxiety was off the charts! When I cut out soda it became more manageable. I didn't need the caffeine and it does NOTHING for me but fuel anxiety. If I have caffeine, my heart races and my brain freight trains but I get tired. It's not a good combination at all! I have never been a coffee drinker. I drink lots of tea and just switched to decaf tea to avoid the effects of caffeine. I do eat chocolate tho. LOVE the stuff! LOL I find I drink more water too. I like it with a full lemon juiced into a half gallon of water. I like lemon tho! Another side effect is that I dropped about 10 lbs when I cut out the soda! I can't do fake sugar so it was all the sugar and empty calories. Good luck in your journey!

I'm trying to wean myself off of regular pop, so I've been taking caffeine pills. I usually take 1/2 of 1, 200 mg tablet. The daily recommended dosage for adults is 400 mg. I do not get good sleep and it's not changing any time soon. If I've had a very bad night, I do take one. Depending on the day, I might take 1/2 a pill around 3:00 p.m. This is what I did, although 12 hour night shifts helped me fall off the wagon and back into Diet Pepsi pretty quick. I loathe coffee and dislike tea.

I stopped drinking soda regularly a few years ago - I do admit that every once in a while when I take my kids to Sonic for happy hour I will go crazy and get a vanilla coke, just because I love it so much. But that's a very rare treat. I have no desire to cut out coffee - I just have my one dose of Starbucks in the morning and then I'm done for the day. If I were in your position, I would likely start drinking green tea regularly, it has some health benefits along with the caffeine boost.

I don't drink coffee and occasionally drink herbal tea so all of my caffeine came from Diet Coke... a LOT of Diet Coke! I stopped drinking it about a year ago and had a low grade headache for a couple of days, but that passed quickly.

There's a coffee-like drink a friend of mine drinks that's green and caffeine free. Trader Joes might have it in their new section (or did a little bit ago) I think it starts with a K. Reminds me of the word kombucha, but it's not that. And it's not green tea. I've been against diet sodas for a long time now, and I used to be more passionate about sharing the cons of it, but not so much anymore. And I can't have caffeine because it makes my already over-focused awareness go into overdrive and gets very overwhelming and makes me feel extremely anxious. I tried the Thrive sample and loved it but the patch gave me a huge panic attack. It wasn't until after that, that I noticed there was caffeine in the product... no wonder. But to be fair, I had other things going on on the time that were influencing it as well. There are those kind of products out there that don't have caffeine in them and still have a lot of sources of energy and focus. Kyani is one of them, so if you know anyone who is a distributor for that, I highly recommend trying it out. I used to be one, but I've come to find out that sales aren't my thing for this introvert
