Oh my. This was on my news station the other day so I downloaded the app (ibotta). Basically it's like clipping coupons. You pick your stores, pick your rebates, shop, then scan the barcode on your receipt. I got $6 from Wal-Mart this morning then $10 more for being a new customer. So, $16 this morning for something really simple. I am going to like this. Then once you reach $20+, you can have the money sent to your PayPal account or a gift card. Love it! You can join at ibotta.com or get the app. Feel free to use my referral code if you would like. It's: sydpjjq. Hope you like it as much as I do so far.

I have heard about this but I wasn't too sure how it worked. Was it pretty simple to set up?

the last time I tried using ibotta, every coupon required me to watch a video and none of the videos would load. Is it better now?

They just did an update a few weeks ago and it's much better. I earned $18 in May and $6 of that was from bonuses. Some months I find a lot of rebates and some months not much at all. I've earned $290.00 since Nov. 2013 so it's not a fortune but it's some fun money.

My local grocery store said something about downloading the app for savings. If watching videos is required at any time, I am not interested.

Also to Gail about videos: it is much better. A lot fewer videos, mostly just a survey question or doing nothing but clicking on the rebate. My referral code is mnludku I'd love to have more on my team.

Love it! Checkout51 is the same type of app. You'll find rebates for products that are not on Ibotta.

I use it but my store of choice doesn't have a lot of rebates I use. There seems to be a lot of alcohol ones. I've been getting maybe $1 per week.
As for unlocking the rebates, many are just read a quick sentence or two. Others might be a video but I just kept it run the 30 seconds without watching!!

I have been using it for awhile - over $100 in 3 months. It also works to be friends on there for team bonuses too.
My code is hxjkiey if anyone wants to use it.

I've been using it for 4 years when they only had a handful of stuff. Since then, I've earned over $1,100 using it. I'm always looking to add teammates. Since I use it regularly, I unlock the second level in the team bonuses every month, sometimes the third one.
My referral code is: lvp6jq. Or add me on Facebook and make sure your ibotta is linked to your Facebook and we can be teammates.

I used it briefly before I became an Aldi shopper. It worked just fine but I save a lot more money just by going to Aldi so I never use it anymore. Plus it was mostly just for products/brands I don't need or want, maybe that's changed.

Glad some of you have enjoyed it for a while. Yes, you do have to watch a quick video, answer a survey question, or something but only with SOME rebates. I found it super simple and fast really. I can do that to earn a bit of fun money. And yes, you don't have to use PayPal. You can get gift cards too. Think of where you might want to spend that fun money. I figure it's money I was throwing away so why not try it.

I think I'll download it again. Hopefully I can remember my log-in information. We are in such a rural area it's hard to find stores that it works with.

I've been using it for several months. They always have bonuses, too. Like, complete x number of rebates and earn $x.oo bonus. They always have rebates on non-brand items -- like buy any gallon milk, or buy loose apples or bananas.

I have to say that on my son's birthday and my husbands birthdays I had enough money stashed that I could buy gift certificates to the movies. It seems silly, but it's those little things that keep our family less stressed and felling "normal".

At least with Checkout51 you can get a tiny bit for purchasing produce. Still a measly 0.50 is a long way to earning $20.00. I haven't used that app in over a year. I probably lost my $1.50.

Apparently I've lost a few bucks (less than 5) due to inactivity. I'll have to work harder at it this time.

I downloaded it when it was new and it was a pain in the neck. There was a big radio advertising push last summer and I tried it again. In the past year, I've gotten $182.10 back. I also use Checkout51.
I could use more teammates. None of my FB friends seem to be using Ibotta.

They took the produce away. You now have to redeem $2 in order to get that .25 produce "bonus" the next week now. Because of that, I'm close to cashing out and deleting it. I deleted saving star over similar issues. Ibotta is the only one that hasn't given me issues. Although I do wish they'd bring back more "any brand" stuff. I miss the extra .25 on eggs.

I haven't been able to figure out how to add someone to a team. Is your "team" just the people who signed up using your code?

I haven't been able to figure out how to add someone to a team. Is your "team" just the people who signed up using your code? Your team is people that signed up using your referral code, whoever you signed up through if you did, and any of your Facebook friends that linked their FB account to the ibotta account. Your FB account needs to be linked too. Only three of my teammates are actually active so I'm the one doing all of the work.

What does it mean to be part of a team? Do you save collectively? I was wondering the same thing. What is the benefit to being on a team? And if there is a benefit, we should all just get on the same team. Talk about power of the peas.
