So it's lunch time on a Sunday and I'm sitting here with my phone flicking between this, Facebook and Pinterest. My house needs cleaning, washing to put away, donations to drop off, craft projects to finish. I desperately need some motivation. And I've already got the music on, the windows open and the dish drainer emptied.
Tell me about how awesome it feels to have a clean kitchen floor, or that extra space in the front hallway, or to have finally posted that wedding present from last December. Extra points for pictures of your immaculately made bed or the latest recipe you tried that turned out great.
Please...
Edited to correct fish drainer to dish drainer. My fish drainer is obviously still full.

I've just gotten over an illness, and the house felt like it had fallen apart. Floors needed a deep mopping, stairs were neglected, no kitchen towels clean. I was a little overwhelmed as to where to start, so I googled cleaning ckecklist and found this customizable cleaning list. I kept my list simple. I only used 1/2 the lines in each area on average. I just started on whatever day I printed it out on, and kept at it each day. I love having a routine now, instead of just "a little of every room everyday." I used hers as a rough guide, but toned it down a lot. For example, my bath mats don't need washing every week. Maybe every 2 weeks. So I wrote "Wash bathmats if needed" I hope this helps you!

Extra points for pictures of your immaculately made bed or the latest recipe you tried that turned out great. That's what I use Pinterest for! Great motivation to finish crafts and make my bed, even though I've made it twice already. Darn beagle and kids...

My house isn't spotless, but today I made Christmas gifts for my classroom kids. THAT feels great to be so far ahead of the game. Oh, my laundry is done and it is only Saturday. That I am happy about.
When I come home from work I am exhausted. I make myself do 7 things every day. It can be as simple as putting dog toys away or paying bills. Oftentimes seven turns into ten. It is a motivator. By Saturday, I have done 25 things that I don't have to do on the weekends, and I can hang out longer on Pinterest or wherever.

My house was a horrible mess when I woke up today. DD and I had been sick earlier in the week and the week before I had had a rummage sale so still had boxes of stuff sitting around waiting to be dealt with. This morning, I called up some friends and invited them for pizza and movies tonight. Totally great motivator. My house is not perfect but it gave me the push I needed to get things straightened.

Have your mother call to tell you she going to be in town and wants to know if you want to go to lunch. Oh, and by the way, she's bringing her friend that used to babysit you when you were little. That got my house cleaned fast yesterday.

Lol guys, you have me laughing. Thanks PrettyInPeank that list looks great! 950nancy I like that. Seven things is achievable. (and measurable and realistic and all those other things that they say a S.M.A.R.T goal should be. Thank you! It appears I need to invite some people over (does the real estate agent during an inspection at the end of the week count) and get myself one of those procrastinator super hero costumes like msliz has in her avatar and I might just conquer this.
