I have what became a very sad situation...I still have a hard time figuring out how I let things get out of control. I was very lucky as I had both a sewing room and a scrapbooking room...upstairs...and our master was downstairs. I got the idea I would switch rooms and started lugging stuff out to the landing that seperated the two rooms. It got totally out of control and I just gave up...for TWO years...the stuff just sat up there like a clutter cloud...I didnt accomplish anything in those two years. DH never complained...why, Im not sure. I finally had a week in the house by myself...I actually took five SUV loads to charity. Im so lucky I finally got organized because a year later we moved across country. I still got rid of a lot then but most of the hard work was done already. I now have a gorgeous well organized craft/sewing room and love it. I think this losing control of two rooms was related to my mom's passing...part of the chaos was that I had had to empty her house and had lugged home a lot from there. My neighbor across the street experienced somewhat of the same...her mom passed and she too lost control of one room...couldnt even walk into it. Decluttering is very freeing. I hope to never get bogged down again. I learned from the tv show Hoarders how often it is associated with a personal loss or tragedy. I'm glad you got a handle on it!

I'm doing a slow purge. I recently rearranged my craft room because of a new used table. I've been making $10 bags of scrap related stuff and posting on my local classifies. Works great. I just recently did an all sticker one. I currently have went through my punches. I use my Cricut a lot but am keeping the boarder punches and some of the corner ones that I still use for card making. I have sold off 2 of my older Cricut machines. I need to go through all my Sizzix related stuff because I have not used any of that stuff for 3 or 4 years now. And I have a lot! I am doing punches right now too. I am packing most of them away. I know where they will be if I need one. I noticed I am using my Cricut more too for creating. I am telling you the punches are kicking my booty. I am like should I keep the circle ones out? No, I can use my Cricut. Should I keep this punch out? No, maybe, I don't know thought process, lol. I was thinking of this thread earlier. I like to set down with my projects I made for the year and write down what supplies I used on them. This gives me a general idea of what tools are important to me now and what can be safely decluttered. I noticed this year I am using my printers, Cameo, Cricut & Xyron sticker makers more. I am using my embossing folders but I really didn't use my dies even though I bought a lot of them. I blame you girls and your Ebay Alibaba obsession that I admit I enabled too, ROFL! The only punches I used were my scallop, circle punches and corner rounders. I hope that helps a little bit.

I have a craft room that has sadly become the catch-all for everyone. I so want and need to get in their and purge but every time I attempt to do so I am overwhelmed. It doesn't help that I not only have my things to purge but everyone (mostly DS) else's too!!
