I noticed a Macy's in the mall scene, set in approx 2003. It should have been Foley's. I am confused! Why is this a mistake? Because Macy's (Federated Department Stores) didn't buy out May Department Stores (Foley's, Hechts, Famous Barr, etc) until 2005. So in 2003 it wouldn't have been Macys yet. Just a little nitpick, the rest of the episode was amazing.

Is it because of the particular mall they were at and you personally know it used to be a Foley's? What we are asking is - there were Macy's in malls in 2003. So why is this one a mistake?

When a person is being questioned by the police, and they always seemed to be annoyed. Then they say something like, "Are we done here because I'm busy right now." Who talks to the police like that? If I were being questioned about a homicide, I'm pretty sure it will be all yes sirs and no sirs!

When the walkers make noise constantly, except when the director want them to sneak up on someone (that one may be walking dead specific) Yes! The one scene that really bothered me was when the Alexandria group, covered in guts, were walking through a huge crowd of walkers, they stopped and suddenly there's walkers biting Sam. Like they wouldn't see and hear that coming! Someone mentioned how the bad guys seem to miss every shot from a machine gun or any gun but the good guys are perfect and hit their target in one shot. I hate when shows can't decide if it's day or night. One scene is day time, next scene is night time, then suddenly back to day!

I thought of another one - I'm weirdly obsessed with CSI:Miami but the timing on that show kills me. They characters are always in the same outfit for the episode's entirety which leads me to believe that everything happens in 1 day. Sooooo, the crime happens (sometimes theres a second crime), they collect all that evidence, process all the evidence, and get their killer. All in one day. Riiiiight.

I love crime TV. However, how is it possible that all of he female detectives are not only gorgeous and well dressed but wear killer heels? Seriously, who could spend hours on their feet everyday in those heels? Who could chase down the bad guys in those heels? So crazy.

I miss the Bon, they had the best sales.

A lot of the medical shows I can't watch anymore. Someone is always diagnosed in less than 10min.. They can't even draw an IV that fast! LOL! oh and see the Dr super fast not just the nurse. That's funny about the Chicago Fire one LOL! There was one of those that I watched a while back but I can't remember the name but it was NEVER about the fire. It was all the drama lol! A few of the HGTV shows, everything they redo is modern and white. lol! And sitcoms their kitchens are perfectly clean and set up and everything! Like they don't spend time in there houses just to do the part. The HGTV and any other home show. When they finish a spectacular backyard deck with a kitchen, fireplace, beautiful furniture, etc.. It looks good that day but come back in a month and see what it will look like after it's been rained, snowed, hailed, or just plain stupid high temperature on! And I will be glad when the term "open concept" is done!!!

This is a huge why? We have a couple of stations that run repeats of shows. One: Why do these stations run the same series all day? They have enough shows in their lineup to make a decent schedule of shows. Two: Why don't they ever show the last 5 shows? Then restart the series?

OMG The Night Shift! I watch this show because the research is so bad. The show is set in San Antonio, we lived in San Antonio.
The first season they went on and on and on about how SA Memorial was the only major trauma center for miiiilllleesss. And I'm screaming at the TV "SAMMC! SAMMC is in San Antonio." And there is a bus full of Servicemen that wrecks and they bring them all to SA memorial and NOT SAMMC. And one of them has severe burns that only they can treat, but SAMMC has one of the best burn units in the country. It's just so ridiculous because the premise is these Dr's are also soldiers and this is a big military town, but they couldn't do that little bit of research.
Also, all the Dr's are also surgeons, and they go out to the field in the helicopters and perform surgery in a pasture, and train with the SWAT team and also, every week at least two patients have incredibly rare medical issues. It's just so great. And I know it isn't filmed in SA, but Google maps would tell them that Fredricksburg Rd doesn't ever cross the 281. And only the 10 has an upper and lower deck.
My other pet peeve, every Crime Drama eventually ends up with an evil nemesis story line where the bad guy taunts the investigating team, sometimes kidnapping them, or killing family members, until he is eventually caught, and sometimes he gets away and the cycle repeats.
I don't know about anyone else, but if I'm going to be a bad guy and kill people for fun, I'm going to do my best to not bring the attention of the super sleuths my way. Plus, I don't like ongoing storylines in that kind of show. I want new stories every week.

it cracks me up that they film many exterior scenes for NCIS in the heat of the Santa Clarita, CA area when the scene are supposed to be in the winter of DC. it must kill them to walk around in trench coats when it's sweltering outside.

It also irritates me on family dramas and Sitcoms that everyone including the family enter their house through the front door. IRL don't most of us come into our house through the garage into the kitchen. I will validate you here. Only guests typically come in through the front door where I live, and same with everyone I know.
I loved the Gilmore Girls but a couple of things used to drive me nuts. One, Lorelai and Rory would go the diner or where ever and they always ordered tons of food. THAT was bad enough, since they are both reed-thin, but they NEVER showed them eating a single bite on camera! And the other thing was that it was always light out in the early morning, no matter what time of year it was. Lorelai would go in to wake Rory up at supposedly 5:30 a.m. or something in the winter, and the sun would be streaming through Rory's window when the curtains were pushed aside.

My biggest vent has always been consistency issues, and now, that shows are streaming online or on netflix and you can watch episodes from multiple seasons all at one time, those issues make me even more crazy. Because while I may have noticed some things during the original runs, I now see even more things when there's not a week or even months between episodes. My dad always asks me, "Did they change anything?" whenever I tell him I'm rewatching a TV show. Sometimes I tell him, yeah -- I may have caught something I missed before.

I hate it when there is a court scene and you see the court reporters. They make so many mistakes. Sometimes they are typing as if it was a typewriter, one finger at a time and lifting them way off the keyboard, which isn't correct, and sometimes they don't even have the paper drawer open or paper loaded. It bugs me because it is such a simple fix. Its as if no one has ever seen a real court reporter working. I thought most of these shows were supposed to have professionals consulting with them to let them know what they are doing wrong in these scenes.
And when I am binge watching anything on Amazon or Netflix, I hate it when they don't give you the option of skipping the intro part to each new episode. I get so sick of seeing the intro time after time that I just jump ahead, probably missing a minute or two of the show just because I can't listen to the intro one more time.
I'm sure there are more, but those are the most annoying things to me right now.

On my mother's side there's a bit more of a mix, as my grandma had black hair and blue eyes (such a pretty combination) Are you familiar with the song The Galway Girl? (the older song, not the Ed Sheeren version) "And I ask you, friend, what's a fella to do "'Cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue "So I took her hand and I gave her a twirl "And I lost my heart to a Galway girl." Galway Girl Okay, sorry for the sidetrack. Carry on.

Eh, tv shows, and their mistakes don't bother me. They are dramas...they want drama. It's not real life, and I don't want to watch a full hour of real life. I watch tv to lose myself in the imaginary.
DH and I do enjoy making fun of mistakes, or silly things we know are not real, or would never happen. Our favorite phrase is, "That's so unrealistic."...and keep on watching.

My husband laughs at me when I say something about how "that" would never happen in real life - like in a courtroom scene and the lawyer questioning the witness gets real close to the witness box and mutters something that supposedly can only be heard by the witness.

Consistency issues bug the crap out of me. Like if a character mentions he has a brother in season one and then in season three somehow he has two sisters instead. Big Bang Theory is bad about this--a whole plotline will revolve around one of Sheldon's "quirks"...next season he's doing the very thing he declared was such a problem.
It also upsets me when a showrunner leaves the show after several seasons, because with a new leader and usually new writing staff, the characters start to behave in ways that aren't in their established character. And the plotlines often become more outlandish. I'm watching it happen with Veep, I watched it happen with Gilmore Girls, and the one that upset me most was Community. In my mind, that show ended after season three, though in reality it limped along for a few more. It's upsetting to me because I get invested in the characters, and it bothers me that the showrunners and writers seem to care less about the world they created than I do. (See also the last season of How I Met Your Mother.) This may be why I don't watch much episodic TV any more!

ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!
Plus, I just binge-watched all 18 seasons of Law & Order SVU...(Not all in one sitting! Took me awhile!)
Years ago, I had stopped watching after Elliott left. Finally decided to start watching again. Olivia Benson really exasperated me! How in the heck did she make Lieutenant and in charge of the squad?!?! I can't pick out any one specific instance, but yeah. She exasperated me.

but now we now it IS possible, but still very unlikely Not that unlikely. Look at the Royals, Kate has green eyes, William has blue and their son George has brown. I suspect most people could tell you the same story about people they know in their lives. One of my school friends has a family photo where everyone has really bright blue eyes except the youngest son. I've had my genetic testing done and based on my genes my predicted eye colour should be "light grey blue" but they are a very definite green. They don't understand how the various genes/alleles interact to determine how the colour is expressed yet. That's why there is no one shade of any colour, blue can range from pale grey to dark violet. So even if your 'main' gene for eye colour is blue there could be several other alleles in different places that determine what shade of blue you end up with - or if your expressed colour ends up being green or brown instead. Now how come I haven't noticed that, about Kate, William and George? Go figure! I stand corrected again, lol!

Talking of inconsistencies, remember that in the pilot of The Cosby Show, Cliff asks Claire why they have four kids, and her response is that they didn't want five, or something like that. Then by episode four they have added Sondra, who was the eldest. Magic!

We watch a rerun of King of Queens most nights after we get in bed. When they show an establishing shot of Doug and Carrie's house, it isn't the same house as the interior scenes. The windows are in the wrong places, and there is no front porch. But in some episodes, there is a scene set on the front porch.
And speaking of windows, why doesn't anyone on tv ever have screens in their windows? Don't bugs exist in tv land?

I used to watch How I Met Your Mother, and it always drove me crazy that they were all fit and in shape, yet they eat bar food and drink at the bar all the time. There's no way they can drink that much and eat that much bar food and still be in shape!

Funny you say that.. my Dh was reading about MASH sceness were filmed like that, but it was because the actors were being buts so it was done in different weather that didn't match. We've started watching the old reruns on WGN and he was reading all the tidbits on line. Some of them were kinda fun.
