NOOOOOO lol! I mean that since the calls weren't taped, it may not be enough to get him canned.
I definitely believe Mika & Joe. Oh thank goodness! I thought you were defending him saying that we don't know who to believe. Glad that was the case...sorry for my misinterpretation of what you meant. No worries, I'm not real good at expressing myself sometimes.

Well, they're reporting that Joe did share contemporaneously with network people that the threats were happening. So there may well be a record of it. Sometimes you don't want to do anything about it at the time, but you start a paper trail "just in case." Maybe you never need it...but maybe you do. I save all my work emails & texts for this reason. As long as my side of the street is clean, why would I need to ever delete? And you never know when you need to prove the most random thing.

THAT is the big story? That the two are in a relationship? I suspect they probably expected some magazine somewhere would print something like that at some stage. People in the media know how it works. There's no way I believe they approached Trump (as he claims) and asked him to 'kill' the story. Well apparently Trump doesn't watch as much news as he claims - that's been out there for months, if not longer.

Supposedly there WAS a story printed in the June 5 Enquirer--that was the story that 45 was offering to kill.

Clicked send too soon--Mika's story of her teenage daughters being stalked is similar to a story I heard Megyn Kelly tell on Fresh Air. He has no compunction about harassing people.

WOW this story just keeps getting crazier. To sum up: - Two TV show anchors constantly criticise Trump
- He doesn't like it and wants them to stop (he thought they were his friends! )
- In order to get them to stop someone from the WH calls both of them & their families saying they have a "big news story" on them and they need to call
Trump and ask (beg) him to stop it from being printed in the National Enquirer
- They say 'screw it' - print it...no big story is printed (ETA: new info that a news story about their "cheating/scandal/relationship" was printed) No-one seems to know this happened except the people involved.
- Trump is pissed off that the plan didn't work, they didn't come and beg him like he wanted, then he sees them once again making fun of him on their show with regard to the fake Time covers, so he tweets bitchy comments about both of them
- Then not happy about the backlash from that tweet, Trump then tweets claiming they asked him to stop a National Enquirer story saying he refused
- Of course no-one knew about this, so now the hosts have to tell their side of the story - making Trump look like a bigger fool than he did before.
He just blew himself out of the water with those two tweets. The general public would not have known the full story if he hadn't got the ball rolling. Those two could have claimed Trump tried to bribe them...but probably a lot of people wouldn't have believed them, but now that Trump himself bought it up in tweets, it gives their side of the story credibility.
He really does believe he can force people to do what he wants and to force positive press through the use of manipulation and abuse of his power. It's still hard to believe that stuff like this is actually happening.
Makes me believe even more that he had Megan Kelly poisoned before the debate.

Dear Mr. Trump:
Old news
Morning Joe Speculation from 2016
June 29, 2016 | 6:39pm
Mika’s hush-hush divorce fuels Joe romance chatter
“Morning Joe” hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough could soon go public as a couple. Page Six has exclusively learned that Brzezinski and her husband of 23 years have quietly divorced.
Popular MSNBC stars Scarborough and Brzezinski are widely rumored to be romantically involved — and there’s plenty of on-air chemistry for all to see. But while Scarborough is also divorced — since 2013 — the TV duo have never confirmed they’re romantically involved.
An NBC insider told us, “Everybody at 30 Rock knows they are a couple . . . They are constantly together, they arrive and leave events together, even on weekends. They are each other’s publicists and finish each other’s sentences. It’s the worst-kept secret in TV.”
Brzezinski, 49, and her ex-husband, WABC Eyewitness News investigative reporter James Hoffer, who married in 1993, have undergone an under-the-radar divorce, which was recently settled, we’re told. They have two teenage daughters.
Scarborough, 53, divorced Susan Waren, a former aide to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, in 2013 after a 12-year marriage. The former couple, who have two children together, separated the previous year.
An MSNBC spokesperson confirmed to Page Six, “Mika’s divorce was finalized in the past year. She’s really grateful that it was done amicably and in private. This has, of course, been a painful time for her family. So right now she is focused on her two teenage daughters, and on continuing to heal.”
The spokesperson declined to comment on the status of her relationship with Scarborough.
A friend of the “Knowing Your Value” author said: “Mika has always been very open — in her books and elsewhere — about her failures and disappointments in life, her struggles with eating disorders, her career, the ups and downs of parenting.”
The friend added, “I’m sure down the road she’ll want to share more about this experience, but right now she thinks it’s best for her family to have some privacy.”

This is your President, folks. Given the investigation into Russian interference that keeps getting deeper, and the revelations of FSB/GRU direct hacking into states' voting registries, I'm starting to believe he wasn't freely elected at all. His pre-election screaming of "RIGGED!" was straight out of Putin's handbook, and may be the only time he's ever spoken the truth in public.

Looks like someone kept texts. What did I say above about letting Trump out himself and making Mueller's job as easy as possible (or as easy as it's possible to make it for a Constitutional Crisis situation)? "Kushner told 'Morning Joe' hosts to apologize to Trump or tabloid story would run. President Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, told "Morning Joe" hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski they would need to apologize to Trump in order to avoid the National Enquirer publishing a story about their relationship, New York Magazine reported Friday. The magazine reports that Kushner texted with Scarborough about the tabloid story before it ran in mid-April. Kushner said the story could be stopped if Scarborough and his co-host, who are engaged to be married, apologized to Trump for their negative coverage of his first months in the White House." thehill.com/homenews/administration/340263-kushner-told-morning-joe-hosts-to-apologize-to-trump-or-tabloid-storyGood gravy, no wonder Jared hasn't resolved the Middle East crisis yet. I'm starting to believe he wasn't freely elected at all. ^^^ while it would be nice to think this, I unfortunately think he still *won* ( however it was achieved) and way too many people out there believed- and still believe- the huckster-crap snake oil he was selling them. eta: but I DO believe the tampering with election hardware in the different states contributed to issues with independents / Democrats being able to easily cast their ballots in certain states, which probably led to less votes for Clinton. Because those states were the ones she lost VERY narrowly. (IIRC)

My SO has a theory that the dems are sitting back and waiting before attempting to impeach him. If they start impeachment now there's a chance the dems don't take over the Congress in 2018. The longer they leave him in office the greater the likelihood they take over...they are just waiting until the time is right. I just hope he doesn't do too much damage in the meantime. I'm so disappointed in my friends and family members who continue to defend Donald's actions. So much so that I'm questioning the friendship. At this point there's no excuse for him...NONE! I am beyond thankful to know that I don't know of any friends or family members who ever supported this buffoon, and i can only imagine how heartbreaking it would be to learn that people I love and respect did support him. I, personally, could not continue in my relationships with them in the same way,not even close. I would be cordial if at all possible, but that would be it. Hugs to you and all who suffer in this way, with loved ones.

This is bizarre. And totally off topic - I stood next to Willie Geist and his kids at the deli counter two days ago. but you didn't stop a call to a world leader to say that!

I feel sorry for the people who need jobs and voted for him thinking he would make things better. There are a lot of people who need help in our country, who bought into his song and dance, and they are just going to do worse and worse because this man is truly insane and certainly not helping them. Not me! He has shown all along that he is a con so if they were too stupid to see it, then I hope they get what they voted for...job loss, healthcare loss, financial loss, all of it.

(IIRC) Suppressing turnout is rigging, and since these inquiries are still in the nascent stage, it's not improbable that evidence of further chicanery may surface. That said, I do agree with you that it doesn't lessen the responsibility of voters who cast their ballot for an incompetent, corrupt man-baby who's in the Kremlin's thrall. Putin's everything that Trump is not: he's smart, patient, controlled, and able to think three steps ahead. We're talking about a KGB alum who was trained by the best the Soviet apparatus had to offer. He's utilized those skills on every front to consolidate his power in Russia, fill his pockets and sow fear among the citizenry there. According to our own IC community, he's been studying the US Red State/Blue State divide for years, and found it easy to exploit. His weaponization of Social Media was inspired, frankly. What's disturbing about everything that's emerging is how incredibly easy we made it for him. And that's shameful.

Not me! He has shown all along that he is a con so if they were too stupid to see it, then I hope they get what they voted for...job loss, healthcare loss, financial loss, all of it. It still surprises me how many people to this day buy in to his promises. The people who know him best - those in NYC - overwhelmingly can't stand the guy. The people who have done business with him have so many stories of him stiffing them on the bill. He can't get loans from US banks. All of those things are red flags. Big, huge, Titanic-sized red flags. You may as well have lit up a jumbotron with flashing lights that say SCAM ARTIST in 8000-point font. And yet people believed in him - and many still do. He's exactly who he's always been. He's not going to pivot, or change his ways, or mature. He's 71 years old. He's going to be the way he is until he dies. Keep in mind that HE never said that he was going to change his behavior. HE never said that he was going to follow presidential customs and norms. He never hid who he was because he didn't have to - there were enough people willing to overlook who he was - or who liked him because of who he was that he didn't have to change a thing. Eventually, people will recognize him for a con man. It doesn't matter how he tweets or talks about his greatness - as a wise man once said, reality hits you hard. When you are still out of work, or you can no longer go to the doctor because you don't have coverage, or when you drive past the coal mine and it's still shut down, the promises are going to fall flat. You can't pay for your groceries or mortgage with promises. Save

People have underestimated Russia and Putin and I hope that they are finally waking up to the danger Russia poses. I don't understand where the яepublican party's love for Russia comes from, but I sincerely hope that smarter people than them are still manning the wheels in the IC. I do believe that is the case from all of the testimonies I've heard so far.
Putin is not our friend. He is smart and ruthless. He has a looooooooooooooooooong memory and the collapse of the USSR is something he's not going to forget, ever. People in that part of the world tend to hold grudges for a really, really, really long time.
We let our guard down. We thought that we had won the cold war and we put down our weapons - or looked for new targets to point them at. We didn't realize that the war wasn't over, and the Russians have been fighting it this whole time. They aren't interested in conventional weapons - why would they be, those are expensive and deadly! They found a new and much better, cleaner weapon that is harder to defend against. It's harder still when the country you're fighting against doesn't even realize they're in a war.

Joe also said a senator called him after his visit to the Whitehouse with a group of other senators that were there to discuss healthcare. This senator was creeped out that trump was going on and on about Mika saying blood was coming out of her eyes, ears... etc. He just randomly brought her up in front of the group in the middle of a talk about healthcare. He was creeped out enough to call Joe and tell him about it.

They found the perfect patsy to do their dirty work and get them into secrets and how the government operates. I would bet money that Piutin has been stalking and plotting for years about Trump. Studying him and stroking his ego, knowing full well the man is so easy to manipulate! My, God, his wife said so on national television! Putin knew he had to wait for a pathetic, glory hunting, egomaniac with no backbone or experience to get into the WH. I wouldn't even blink if it comes out that Putin put the bug in Trump's or someone close to Trump's ear to run. If not, then Putin has to be the most lucky SOB in the world. He is giddy with glee now....

This is your President, folks. Every single day, I think...this can't possibly be any more of a nightmare...he can't do anything more appalling, more morally bankrupt...and every. damn. day. he proves me wrong. I have no words anymore. That is exactly how I feel.

Frightening, but I guess not unexpected. He doesn't seem to have a line of decency that he won't cross. Everything is open to him, whatever it takes to get his way. I don't know how this is going to end, but I can't imagine Trump remaining in office for the entire 4 years. My guess is something is going to piss him off or embarrass him to the point where he just quits. At least, I hope so. I can't face 4 full years of this crap. I don't believe the GOP plan is to have him in office for 4 years. I assumed the real goal was to use Trump to have a GOP win and then boot him out so Pence could take over. Now I'm thinking they are giving him just enough rope to hang himself and they will cut all ties and be done. Back in the day when I did communications training with political candidates, one of my main points was "when your opposition is self-destructing publicly ... let them."
