Chinagirl828, how long did it take you total for your layout? Those are wonderful photos. I'm not entirely sure as I went and had dinner in the middle of it... I know not exactly what I should be doing in the middle of a "20 minute" page. I would guess it took me about 50 mins but that included finding a website that had some details on the jumpsuits in the photos and writing my journaling. I started with a sketch because I thought that would make the process go faster (ha!). Next time I'm going to pull out a small pile of supplies to start along with the sketch to see how much of a difference that makes.

I have most of my photos with collection kits to use with them, some with embellishments too but I think 20 minutes would not be nearly enough time.

If I am up to scrapping today, I am giving this one a go. Wish I could do video, but I haven't a clue how I could get it set up to work. I will time myself though, and am going to pick out some supplies beforehand, not everything, but some

So I had another go at it tonight. I used the same sketch as a starting point and pulled out half a dozen sheets of paper and a couple of alpha options before I started the timer. And it still took me about 50 mins to make this page despite no journaling (it will be in the pocket page that goes with this one). Those of you who have been able to do this in significantly less time than me - do you have any tips? I was doing really well at the start, all my papers were stuck down by the 10 min mark, but then the rest which looks deceptively simple somehow took me another 40 mins. The colours are a little bit off in the scan (it matches the dragon much better irl) but here is tonight's page:

I don't know if I could do a page in 20 minutes, but I do think you'd have to work with a collection kit - like a scrapbook subscription kit - whether made up yourself or ordered or a collection including the embellishments to be able to glue and go. I can go down quite the rabbit hole searching for embellishments. Of course, I like going down that rabbit hole - that's the fun part of scrapbooking to me.

It would be fair to say I do not like being beaten by a challenge. This time I made a page kit with more embellishments than I expected to use. I tweaked the finished page a little this morning (I originally had a much larger green box at the top of the photos and no green near the journaling) but the rest of this layout took about 35 mins to make.

this is something I think I would be HORRIBLE at, unless I had a sketch, papers, and embellishments already picked out! You guys who have tried it, I really like your layouts! I give you alot of credit for attempting it; especially Chinagirl828, for trying it more than once!! I watched part of both videos-- the first one, and the one from Grace, the originator of the challenge. I couldn't bring myself to watch their entire videos, though, because without knowing what they're trying to accomplish, their moving the papers around and choosing / discarding / choosing again was kind of making me anxious, even though I wasn't the one scrapping! does that make sense? (just pick something, already! kept going through my head...) I think I might actually try a challenge like this myself, just for kicks, even though I know I will fail miserably!! I'll let you know how bad I did, if I do try it, lol.

Took me 25 min but it was an 81/2x11 size. I really wish I didn't add the dark pink droplets but what's done is done....unless I change it to white cardstock background lol

You ladies are doing an awesome job! I really want to try this, and when I do, I will have the photos, a collection complete with embellies and stickers, and a sketch all ready before I start the clock.
Can't do it today. Something that should take 20 minutes is taking me about 2 hours today. I would need to start the 20 minute challenge first thing in the morning when dh is out of the house and my mind is fresh.

I almost did it! Missed it by less than a minute. I ended up with a severe migraine last night. It had started when I was finishing up this page. When I finished, I just left it and went to bed. Coming in this morning to a desk full of mess and this layout, I have to say I'm much happier with it than I thought I was last night. The colors work well together. I did film it if you'd like to see. It's only my second process video - my first one doesn't even have any views. Lol Silly Sister Smiles Video
I think I'll try this challenge again. Maybe with a collection kit or my Bella Blvd warehouse box that I still have in my kit tray. I think it's the journaling that trips me up. If I took that out, I'd have time to spare.

lilacgal, that is an awesome page! You scrap well with a migraine! I love all the diamond and circle elements and the gold. Will have to check out the video. I had planned to attempt a 20 minute page this morning, but when I was all set up, decided to just scrap and not worry about the time. In the end I got 2 pages glued together, photographed and posted within an hour, so I call that close enough! (No video, though) Used KikiPea 's sketch as a starting point. july sketch challenge by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Thanks grammadee! I love your page. Awesome colors and I really like how you used the 4x6 cards. They work very well and don't distract from the photos.
