There are so many temptations out there, but I am not creating enough to justify more purchases! Anyone else taking a spending break for a while?

Yes, but not purposely. I am just not feeling the urge to buy what's out there right now. Also, some recent organizing and purging helped me to have a better idea of what I have. It also helped me realize that I don't need anything right now. I've been doing some scrapping lately, not a ton, but I've been happily using my stash.

No, but I haven't been spending as much as usual. I've passed on at least half a dozen warehouse boxes (when normally I would have caved on at least half, if not more) and haven't bought much at all. I've spent more at TM than online which is another rarity for me. I'm pretty proud of myself for showing restraint. Our budget kind of demands it, but I've always been good about being able to make my shopping fit even if it didn't look like we could afford it by just glancing. It's kind of nice that there is less and less tempting me because 1. I don't need to be spending money on copious amounts of supplies when I'm surrounded by copious amounts of supplies...a lot of which, I can't even find a place to put and 2. there are more things we want to do and if I keep spending that on stuff, those things don't get to happen...fewer things making me ooh and aah makes it that much easier to stick to a scrappy diet.

I'm frozen. I'm on a budget until I get my credit cards paid off. Im trying to cut my monthly payments down. I'm not sure how long I'll be frozen. I hate seeing all the warehouse boxes because I'm so tempted.

I am semi-frozen. I did just place an order with Cassie at Paper Issues but it wasn't near what I normally order. And the last time I ordered was months ago.

I guess I'm sort of semi-frozen and trying to be a bit more thoughtful about purchases.

Me. I'm spending most of my free spending money on summery fun stuff these days. I try to save our budgeted family fun money for the weekends when we're all home, so if the kids & I want to spend money during the week, we usually spend my personal spending money instead.

I was frozen for a couple of months and my thaw date was July 1st. I have not bought one single scrappy thing. I just haven't seen anything I want all that much plus I already have plenty of stuff I need to use up. I am going to get a stamp set I've had my eye on but only because I need to replace some older clear stamps. I had a couple of sets by Technique Tuesday and all of them got soft and gummy. Yuck.

I guess I'm sort of semi-frozen and trying to be a bit more thoughtful about purchases. Me too. I've got a few things coming but I need to cool it and start producing.

I have had the hardest time staying frozen this month. I blame it on all the Independence Day/Christmas in July sales, my birthday (sudden urge to spoil myself that spiraled out of control, and mostly, my MIL. She has been staying in our guestroom, severely limiting access to my goodies so i have been buying instead of creating. My scrappy urges remain unfulfilled bc i haven't been able to create, so I end up shopping more...its a terrible cycle for my scrappy budget.

I'm off to a scrapbooking retreat this weekend which will have a shop there so have put off my freeze until after I come back. Far too much temptation otherwise!
So as of the 1st August I will be frozen for a couple of months. Fingers crossed I stick to it!

Mid month I bought quite a few things, so I am frozen for quite a while. I splurged a little too much this month. I might pick up something here and there but it will be few and far between

I don't scrap but I do art journal, and the desire to purchase new supplies is equally strong. In June I decided to take an early retirement, and since then I've thought long and hard about every purchase. I'm finding myself to be more creative with fewer new purchases, and Lord knows I have enough supplies to last for years in my art room! When I do give in and buy something, I get one--not 15 as I used to.

I'm another "semi-frozen" one. I just placed an order. I only plan to purchase Steven Duncan's Country Kitchen line in the near future. I need to use what I have.

I put myself way back in the ice age. I want to put a huge dent in my stash so I am not shopping until that happens which is going to take a while. The only things I can buy are adhesive and maybe white cardstock. But I should be good with adhesive since I just bought 15 rolls of ATG tape and a wheel sized roll of foam adhesive - I'll need a glue pen at some point. I've been looking at some of the same stuff for a couple of years and since I like it enough to keep it, I must get it onto a project.

I would say I'm semi-frozen. I am not buying anything at regular price except my Felicity Jane kit. But I will buy on occasion if I find a really good deal. I ordered during last month's 50% off sale at Paper Issues, for instance. But that was the first time I bought anything for months. It feels good to be using my stash. I have a lot of stash left to use, though, so I stay semi-frozen.

I hope it's OK to say that my crafty business is semi-frozen. Almost all of my craft shopping is a business expense now, but I'm trying not to let that give me a free pass to buy everything I want, since I hope to actually make money at some point... and I'm definitely not at that point yet. I also have a few big purchases I'd like to save for, like a Scan n Cut, and the new colors of Distress Oxide inks (which I don't NEED but I really do WANT) so I need to avoid making too many smaller purchases and focus on making some money out of the products I already own.
I bought Xmas, Halloween, and adorable tea&coffee cardmaking supplies last month, limiting myself to a 6x6 pad + pack of die cuts + matching enamel dots for each theme - no stickers, no extras. I ended up with too many die cuts and not enough paper for the Xmas collection, so I made another purchase so I could make use of those die cuts. But I made ~50 cards, and used up about 80%? of the supplies in 2 weekends. So I figure that's good. Now I just need to get the business stuff done (photos, listings, etc) for the cards I already made, and then move on to the next theme. No shopping until I've used it up and listed the product. I LOVE using things up - that's why I get the supplies I do. I can actually use them almost all up in a fairly short period of time.
Staying focused is HARD! I'm trying to be really disciplined and not look at everything and think "oh, I could make some nice cards out of that" because, yes, I could, if I had more time. But I can't make every kind of nice card. So I'm trying to be really clear about what kinds of cards I'm going to make and what products I need for those cards. The rest is a distraction.

My retreat is over, had a fantastic time but didn't really buy much. And now the spending freeze begins, I promise not to buy anything for the whole of August.
Wish me luck 😫

I'm not tempted by anything at the moment, but I have given myself a small scrappy budget every month to get just a little something. My spending was out of hand some months, and I consider myself to have plenty that needs used up.

I want to be and need to be. I have boxes of unorganized supplies. But I saw a web site for a store in Gettysburg with some specialized local papers I will need for an upcoming project. I think I can let them go for now. Also sleepingbooty my ACOT Spellcast letters arrived already!!!

My brand of frozen is different than yours. I literally have nothing as I am starting from scratch again. I am just so completely overwhelmed with what's out there I don't even know where to begin. Picture deer in headlights. I bought two kits today. I subbed to one. I got my pictures in the mail today. I am eager to begin again. But it's just so overwhelming. When I think about all of the tools and page kits I sold many years ago I could just kick myself.

I haven't really purchased anything all summer, with the exception of a few pens for journaling which I needed since my sharpie pen has been unreliable lately. I also do not count adhesive and white/neutral cardstock among my purchases.
I absolutely LOVE the feeling of using a kit/collection up and being able to say 'another one bites the dust'.

They did a good job with them. The ones I have are black foam metallic. I think these will be easier to work with and I am in love with the font!

Semi-defrosted....being careful and thoughtful about what I add to my stash... That is me, too. I really WANT to use up a good portion of my stuff. I just canceled my FJ subscription. That hurt! But, I have a bunch to use up.

I'm kind of always semi-frozen.
I don't impulse buy anymore. I have to sit on it for a few days and decide if I really want it before I purchase it.
