I have all 24 and love them. I was a lucky girl to attend Stampaway this past weekend and had a two hour class with Tim! Try heat setting, spritz with water then dry again - oh the magic! He also has a Creative Chemistry that started August 1 -

I'll order the second set when Joann's.com gets them in stock. I just bought 11 of the colors for 36.00 shipped. They should be here tomorrow. I sold all my distress inks and reinkers so I could replace them with the oxide ones. I think I will get more stamping use out of them. I didn't like the ink pads on the distress inks. Oh, no! I ordered a bunch on the Joann special yesterday, too, but I also bought an embarrassing ton of regular Distress Mini sets (I have only 2 Distress pads, and I got a bee in my bonnet...) - maybe I should have waited for the new Oxide pads and a sale? I was thinking the regular Distress inks have a bit bolder color than the same ink in Oxide. At least, that's how it looks on YouTube. *groan* From Tim Holtz's videos it does seem true that the regular distress colors are darker and richer colors. The oxides have a different look to them which is awesome in a totally different way. Which is better partly depends how you tend to use them. The video where he introduced the 2nd line of colors was really helpful for showing how the colors vary between the two formulations.

The regular ink won't look as bold on colored cardstock as on white, whereas you get the opaque qualities of the oxides, the color of the cardstock doesn't matter, you'll be able to see it on anything. At least, that's how I look at it.

Do we think they'll get them? I have been checking here and there hoping to at least get salty ocean, twisted citron and black soot. All of the distress inks that HL was carrying have been clearanced out (and most are gone from my store) so I'm wondering if they are going to stock the oxides exclusively or if they are getting rid of distress altogether.

I read that someone found the second set of oxide inks at their Hobby Lobby today. My HL clearanced out the distress inks as well and the spot is still empty. So hopefully mine will get them too.

They are all at Hobby Lobby now. Got some last week at 30% off when all the TH stuff was on sale. They have all the new colors and some of the older ones, but not all of them.

Fingers crossed. After seeing everyone posting about new paper there, it took me randomly popping into the furthest one after a month of looking at the one right down the street (I was in the area as my sister lives right across the street or I never would have driven that far out of the way) to find it. This week is a 50% paper sale and my store FINALLY has the new paper out, but were sold out of the one paper pad that I wanted (it was truck day, so they might have gotten more on it). Just about all the other aisles were merely on markdown. It appears they aren't stocking PL anymore at all. The store really far away had it on an endcap (easier to remove than in the aisle) and it's ALL on clearance at my closer store. I hope that the Oxides are the right price and not marked up like at M's and with even more luck, they'll have it online at J's with a 50% off sale (inks and stamps go on sale for half off quite frequently there...excluding LF) soon. I'm happy to have picked up the originals there for $2.99 each.

Dumb question from newbie, but what is the difference between Distress inks and Distress Oxide inks? I picked up some mini distress inks at JoAnn's. But they are not the oxide variety.

It certainly isn't the end all be all of oxides, but if will give you a feel for some of the properties of the inks (some similar/the same as regular distress, but many different).
