I also think Sentell should have been safe over Shawn, even though both outfits were hideous. She didn't willingly acknowledge the help everyone gave her, and to me that's a huge red flag for a group project. One of the main goals in group projects is for the team to help each other, which he did. (They sometimes ask contestants, "Why didn't you help him/her? You're on a team together.") He stuck his neck out for her and got axed. Metaphor intended. I didn't care for the winning look by Ayana. I thought her model looked like Captain Kirk meets the car wash walking down the runway with those straps swinging and that triangle pointing at the waist. I would have picked Batani as the winner, hands down.

There is one thing about Project Runway group challenges that always irritates me. During the judging of the worst collection, the judges always ask who should go home. Yet as soon as one of the designers starts talking about another designer and giving their opinion, they make remarks like "oh, here comes the bus". Excuse me, but you requested that bus. Don't ask who should go home and then chide them for telling you how they feel.

I can't wait to see the first team or partner challenge where the twins are on opposite teams. I think this may be the cheating thing. I bet they are on separate teams and they help each other.

Tell them to be honest, then slam them for their honesty!

I think Brandon should have won because it was the print he created which made the winning collection cohesive. I thought his teammates should have given him more credit for that, although it is possible they did and their comments were edited out.
The drama on Project Runway seems to get more and more scripted each season. As soon as I saw Episode 1 and the twins were the first to arrive and greeted all the other contestants, I knew the whole season was going to be about them. I've always felt like Project Runway was different from other reality shows because it really was a true competition and the drama was just a side note. It seems like now its all about the drama and the competition is becoming a side note.

I think Brandon should have won too, I didn't like the winning look as much as I loved his. And the twins are making it hard for me to enjoy this season. Hopefully it will get better.

I used to love this show so much when it was a competition and not a reality show. The first several seasons were who made the best design out of what you bought at Mood, not who can make a gown out of trash or a swimsuit when you've never made one before.

It has always been a reality TV show and nothing less. I do think that the designers are selected to fit certain "roles" and that overall production has some say in the mix of who stays and who goes...it's not all about the judging as we see it. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it, but it is not about "fashion" or creating a new designer. The only person who has built a long term full time career in fashion seems to be Christian Siriano
You are wrong about the first few seasons, the very first episode of season 1
episode 2:
No shopping at Mood there.
episode 6:
Season 2:
episode 1
episode 2:
episode 4:
and in season 3 they made outfits for dogs! It's always been the same and there have always been unconventional materials, making swimsuits or lingerie or outfits for ice skaters or wrestlers or service staff of some sort.
I think the passage of time may have 'improved' your memories slightly

They have gotten super obvious with their products volacement though. Lol, which I think does a disservice to the products. But I think it's funny. And I'm not really even talking about the wall, or the make up sponsor or the sewing machines but they other things they randomly shill now. It's rather funny at times.

I think it was some kind of flavored water last year and it was really ridiculous hearing them talk about how refreshing xyz water is between spurts of sewing.

I've been put it my place. In my defense, with the exception of the supermarket, the other things you listed were muslin, jersey, their own clothing, all things actual material. Only the supermarket episode was unconventional material. I should have said actual fabric instead of saying Mood.

They have gotten super obvious with their products volacement though This doesn't bother me...they have do that these days, it pays for the show. I remember Jeff Probst from Survivor talking about this after they were criticised for product placement, he basically said that it's either an episode featuring Sprint mobile or Coca-Cola...or no episodes at all. He said he's willing to make that concession in order to keep the show on their air. Advertising pays for TV and these days of recording and streaming etc the traditional commercial break can easily be skipped, so they have to find other ways to keep that money coming in. n my defense, with the exception of the supermarket, the other things you listed were muslin, jersey, their own clothing, all things actual material. It wasn't to "put you in your place" - it's called a discussion and I made some points that showed your memories weren't accurate. I just picked a few examples from the first few episodes. I could have gone on. You said they didn't use unconventional materials, they went shopping for fabric and at Mood and they didn't make things they had never made before like swimwear. My memories were the complete opposite, but there is no point in simply saying that - so I looked at the episode guides and got some examples from the first few episodes of the first two seasons. There are plenty of "non fabric" examples, there are lots of times they didn't go to Mood to buy fabric and there are many times that they made stuff like swimsuits, bras, costumes or uniforms. I remember unconventional challenges from every season and I have seen them all and there were also parts from new cars & at least two episodes where they using living material from the flower markets. I enjoy the show and I've watched every regular season and every all stars, but they do what they do to make a TV show that people will watch and to make money for the network, but let's be honest they are primarily a reality TV show where people can sew (and sometimes not even that!). That's why people like ChaCha with soft toys hanging off their clothes or the loud moth twins make it on. Siriano was the exception rather than the rule.
