I decided that it’s time I got back into planning my meals rather than have DSO or DD call me at work every afternoon to say “What are we going to do for dinner?” So yesterday I asked everyone to give me one dish that they want to have this week. DS chose chicken burgers so that’s what we’re having tonight: southern fried style chicken breast fillets, avocado, cheese, tomato, bacon and mayonnaise.

Dinner was good. There was steak and sesame steak sauce for me and coho salmon for my dad with salmon sauce. The steak sauce was as good as the local Japanese dive steak restaurant without all the salt. That was a win! I went to a farm to get corn and it was so so at best. We have had a long, dry summer and it could have been sweeter I think. It was ok. Two types of tomatoes, smokies, pickled beets or dirt as bff calls them and broccoli. Best part was the steak sauce I think. I am so glad it is so similar. Someone may have ice cream later as this is the norm now.

I love roasted chicken/veggies so I have that a lot. I use bone in chicken pieces and whatever veggies I either a) have on hand or b) caught my eye at the market. I found a great rub to use at Trader Joes ( they do sell it on amazon, at a much higher price) www.traderjoes.com/digin/post/bbq-seasoning-with-coffee-garlicrubbed that on the chicken, and tossed some roasted potatoes, sweet potatoes and a carrot and onion with a little olive oil and some of the rub. Well bummer we don't have trader joes here. That rub sounds like something I would like to try. We do I can send you some if you'd like. My nephew had me pick him up from osu to do laundry and have Sunday dinner. He and dd requested fajitas. I made steak, chicken and veggie. Dd didn't get to come because they had a residence hall meeting and she picked up a tutoring shift.

I picked up a Greek chicken pasta salad at Costco for dinner. I add lots of chopped romaine and it makes a nice, light supper. It hit 100 degrees here today.
