I was going to make my first Aliexpress purchase tonight but I'm a little leery because they are asking for my mobile phone number. I get asking for a phone number it just seems odd that they specifically want the mobile number.

Another tip that i think was mentioned on another thread
Make sure anything with words on it are spelled correctly and going the right way. I just saw a die with the words on a circle BACKWARDS.

So I’m just in the midst of having my first real issue with Ali. I ordered an item at the beginning of August and haven’t received it. Purchase Protection was about to expire but it wouldn’t let me open a dispute until after it expired. Opened the dispute asking for a refund and the seller responded 2 days later asking me to continue to wait. From my experience if I haven’t received it after waiting for 2 months, I’ll never get it so I rejected their proposal. The seller is now ignoring the dispute but continues to message me asking me to wait. I contacted customer service today to escalate the dispute so we’ll see what happens. At the end of the day I’m out less that $5 but it’s a lesson.

Just wanted to leave a note about a positive CS experience.
I had a small problem with an order, but the seller corrected it right away. It looked like when they were packing my order, the packer grabbed and packed a bag with no die in it (the UPC sticker scanned. They just didn't notice there was no product inside.) I had placed an order for 60+ items including 2 alphabets, so the oversight was understandable. They sent out a replacement die right away.

I also had a problem that was quickly resolved. I ordered 2 dies from one seller - one arrived in a few weeks but the other did not. I thought that was odd that they weren't sent together, but waited longer to see if it would come. When it didn't I sent a message to the seller and they quickly sent out the missing die.
That being said, if I find the same exact item on eBay I will always pay more to order through eBay. Even though my Allie experience was positive, I have heard of too many others bad experiences.

Well, I placed my first order on Sept 29th. It has been stuck at some 'despatch center' since Oct 17th. Now my order says "if your package does not arrive by 12/10/2017, please contact our support team". *sigh*

Such a bummer although this was just kind if a 'test' order so I just ordered a few alphas and a stamp set. I have 17 other things in my cart but I'm just not sure if I want to place the order now...
