I think it is weird that they say they won't take a photo if you don't pay. In my experiences with Life Touch, every kid got a photo taken because that is what was used to create the lunch cards that the kids used to pay for lunch. It was like a credit card for lunch. We also got little proofs of each child that we often used to create little Christmas gifts of Mother's Day gifts. Life Touch only does so well because they offer the school some decent incentives for going with that photography company. Now for the spring semester, they don't take photos of kids who haven't paid.

Lifetouch does ours too. In the fall they take them (we pay for what we want ahead of time). If you don't like them, you can return and they'll retake on retake day. In the spring, they send home a huge package, you pick what you want and pay for them, sending the unwanted ones back. This bugs me because I usually don't buy spring pics (a lot of parents don't) and it's such a huge waste of paper and ink!!!
