I hope you all had a great holiday. It was so nice to go to the mailbox today and receive seven more cards! I have enjoyed every one of them. I sent a card to everyone-- I hope they all got there. I don't trust our mail service any more. Our mail is sent to another state, and then local mail is sent back to us. The turn around time is three to four days.

I love every single card I've received and appreciate you sending them. Unfortunately I did not yet send any myself.
My daughter was hospitalized at Childrens Hospital a couple hours away from home near the end of November for almost a week. I was going to address the envelopes while she was admitted, but she was far too sick. Then she landed in the local ER twice, and was still ill. My son had influenza and was very sick for the next week. And I caught a cold and the man had bronchitis. Then the daughter was readmitted to children's December 18 and got out on the 21. I found out my mom had been admitted to the local hospital, on the 21 and I wasn't notified until she needed a the ride home on the 22. And then my sister passed in her sleep that night.
Im lost. Totally lost. My mind is just spinning. I kept telling myself to just get through Christmas , ustget through Christmas, but now that I have, I'm just numb.

My dad winters in the Venice/Nokomis area. I love it there! I wasn't able to participate this year, but remember opening my mailbox to all those wonderful cards. Merry Christmas! It is a great spot. My friends property is actually in Nokomis. I had only been to Florida (Disney) once before. I can't wait to go back to Nokomis, lovely beach, great shopping in Venice and the outlets at Ellerton, great seafood, really friendly people and they can spot a Canadian in a heartbeat. It was great. Small world! If you'd like, let me know the next time you go. My dad, two uncles and an aunt live in Nokomis. The guys regularly go to Caspersen beach and look for sharks teeth. Then they like to give them to the tourists there. They've meet people from all over the world. You could dig for, and get some sharks teeth from them! My dd and I are going down to see him over my spring break. A friend has a second home in North Port that we get to enjoy. I can't wait!

Arrived home last night to the mailbox stuffed with cards. Thank you everyone so very much for the Christmas blessings. I truly loved the cards and it added so much to my home and each day leading up to the holiday. I sent to everyone on the list and received just about the full amount back, give or take a few. My family room is decked out with beautiful, thoughtful and creative cards. Nice to know that in this crazy world, a bunch of women (people?-we are all identified as women here, I think) can trust folks at a message board, and bring joy to others with and old time tradition of sending cards. Hope you all have a restful week and a happy, and healthy New Year!

AussieMeg, your card came yesterday; thank you so much! My DD1 had them in her hand and asked if she could open some, and I told her togo ahead. She said, "Oh, this one's from Australia," and I responded, "Oh, is it from Meg?" LOL, and it was. I was so excited! I got 10 more cards yesterday, the 26th. None today, I don't think. I've just loved this.

Wow, I'm surprised mine took so long to get there. I will definitely have to post them earlier, in November, next year. I also got another 4 cards yesterday. This is one part of Christmas that I am happy to drag out a bit longer! I wish that I could have sent cards to more people. I had planned to start buying the postage stamps early to spread out the cost a bit (it's $2.30 per stamp) but the Christmas postage stamps weren't available until November. I had to wait for them because they are cheaper (usually $3). Sending to everyone on the list would have broken my budget. I think this year I will put a bit of money aside each month so come November I will have the money for postage ready.

This was my first year with the card swap. I've always been too intimidated by the thought of sending to soooo many people. I have to say that this was one of my favorite parts of the holiday this year. DD & I would open the cards together and admire all the pretties. She punched holes and strung many of the cards into banners that dh and ds hung. She then put up the rest on every horizontal surface she could find. Looking around the room through the season just made everyone in the family happy. So thank you to all the swap participants! and to @leowife for coordinating this.

My friend, who is a Creative Memories consultant, and her DH came over on Tuesday night for gumbo and to play board games. I proudly showed her my collection of cards from the Swap and she was blown away! (I had worked on my cards in October at her semi-annual crop.) She would exclaim over one card, then find another to exclaim over, then another, then another...
You can see where this is going! She was amazed at the different designs and creativity.

Thanks to everyone who participated, even if you didn't send a card. Even sitting down to work on them really helped get me in the Christmas spirit, which I really needed. Each weekend, I'd take the list and a box of cards with me to the bookstore on a Saturday or Sunday and sit and address them while I drank a latte and read magazines. It was fun. If you want to get a head start on supplies for next year, Colorful Images has most of their holiday labels and envelope seals on sale for $2.99 or less. (That's 70% off.) And if you use code ERPN2X before I think January 2, you get $2 regular shipping. I got two sets of labels and two sets of envelope seals for less than $15. (And I am sorry I keep promoting them, it's just the only label company I really know of and they keep sending me emails. )

I'll add my thanks to everyone who participates in this wonderful tradition. I was able to send out just over 100 cards and hope I can get to the whole list next year.
This week I picked up a big pack of Christmas paper for next year. I like to put it away and pull it out again next fall, wait for some holiday inspiration and get get started on new cards.
Happy New Year!

I'm making a new year's resolution to make 5 cards a week in 2018 and to stash away cash for postage so I'll be ready. This has been so much fun and I enjoyed going through the mail.

I took several photos of my card display and am going to make a collage page. Then enter all the Peas name who sent me a card into Wordle and surround Pea swap 2017 with everyone name. This way I have a way to save everyone's card without all the added paper.
