nicolep I thought of you recently when I was using the GB March kit from last year. That color combo was just perfection and I wouldn't have known about it if I didn't read your post about it!

I actually don’t mind the olive green and mustardy yellows. It fits her modern aesthetic and is not a common color combo in other lines. It’s always a nice change of pace in my layouts.

And it's an easy color to use if you take a lot of outdoor pics. And easy to spruce up with yellows and pinks. Dirty mustard is even easier. But even in the newest TN kit, you can just flip it over and use the non-green side (they're black and white on the reverse, and there are only two olive ones anyway). People complain about the preponderance of pink all the time, so I like seeing something different.

Another nay vote on the chartreuse olive color. It's so drab. It reminds me of baby poop. Another vote for hunter green or Kelly green instead.

So...is this card supposed to be this cut off? Mine looks almost unusable in comparison to what it seems like it's supposed to look like. Since yours is so drastically different, I would contact KP and see what she says. Yours is very different then what was posted on her site.

Good eye nicolep My card is also cut off. I thought it was simply an ugly design decision to cut off the design like that. 😂 Sadly I'm now so jaded by Studio Calico and Inked Brands that I assume mistakes are intentional.

I have clicked subscribe on her kits sooooo many times. I just haven't pulled the trigger yet. I am thinking I will have to let one of my other subs go in order to pick this one up and I am just not there yet. LOL

Regarding the olive green and other bold colors Kelly uses... I love them, in theory. They are so bold and different from what you see from other companies and they are printed with such vibrant quality. But... when it comes to using them I really struggle. I get my products from a variety of companies and rarely stick to just one kit when creating... but even if I do, I want my overall album to have a similar vibe. These cards are just so bold they don't go with anything else and there just isn't enough white for my taste to use them in every pocket.

I got my 1st KP TN kit yesterday and my stamps. At first when I opened my package I wasn't so excited, I think mostly cos I am used to buying things from SC at the sale sale sale prices, that to pay full price is hard! But I randomly used my stamps this AM in my notebook as I was listening to several conference calls, and I really enjoyed them. It was fun to layer the various stamps together. I am not so sure about using the TN papers in my TN book as I don't tend to do that and don't want to add bulk. But I do love the bold strong colours & designs. So maybe I will use them in my PL album as smaller inserts.....so, in summary, no regrets with my purchase! ++ I know that KP doesn't have that many sales and when she does, things go fast - so no point waiting!

FYI... I emailed Kelly Perky's customer service and they got right back to me and reminded me that I had the digital file of the cards that I could print from. Duh. I didn't even think of that lol.

I wonder if they were all cut like that and that's why they didn't offer to replace it? I don't mind the way it's cut, I've been a subber for a while and have noticed some just get cut more than others, but if it bugs you I would push the issue with the CS. For me, it comes down to knowing that sometimes the person our subscription provider uses for their stuff does mess up and with the amount they order, their choices are limited. So, throw a giant fit and lose someone who actually can make the stuff you need when the product is still usable or let it go? There are very limited resources out there for companies like KP's who will make the stuff that their customers want. She is not an Inked size company ordering loads and loads of product. This industry is shrinking so much, I imagine I'd have to pick and choose my battles, if I was the person ordering from the company. That certainly doesn't make it "fair", but it is what it is. We are in a love affair with an industry where people want want want, but have also seen it all, want it super cheap, and throw in a few freebies while you're at it. Sorry, Nicole, the last paragraph wasn't directed at you at all.

No worries dawnnikol! I didn't take it that way. On another note, I had a PayPal refund of $3.50 show up this morning from KP. That is more than fair. I didn't even ask or mention anything about a refund.

I know they don’t have the resources that Inked has, but KP absolutely could have had that card reprinted with her next order for her subbers and included it in their next kit. If she sent a properly aligned card to her printer they should reprint it for her because the printing error would be on them. I am glad that she handled it the way she did though.

Because they usually retroactively give the shipping refund the first week of the month. I think everyone's card will be cut off, I noticed it was on another YouTuber's process video the other day.

You know what Mary...you're right. That's exactly what that $3.50 was for. I also bought a stamp and some alpha sheets to ship with my kit. Ugh. Well, I guess I'll just print the card from the PDF afterall. 🙄

Hi guys, happy Tuesday! Wanted to just take a minute to reply to a couple of things. Doing this from my phone so sorry I can’t tag usernames but fingers crossed you’ll see this or someone can help me out later. I have a new gal taking over customer service from my assistant this week. Thanks for your patience. NicoleP - I took a peek at Laura’s email to you and she does mention sending a physical one if you need it, apologies if that wasn’t communicated clearly. Shoot us an email back if you’d like. Dawn - thank you for your post. This industry is tough and it’s getting harder as it keeps shrinking. One of my main goals with my products is to put out great products that you will be excited to buy and use and love what you make with it. Not excited because it’s cheap or you feel the FOMO. That’s just something I believe in but then again, I can never walk past the dollar spot at Target without stopping to look Consumer mentality is a fascinating thing and I don’t have it all figured out but I do try to do the best for my business right now. Puke green! I personally love the olive / pea soup / camo greens. Maybe it’s because I am in the PNW and that’s what’s right outside my window? But I also tend to love colors that can act as neutrals, which I think is why I chose that shade of green. I am a Spartan through and through so nothing beats that bright green, but I often think it’s just so... loud. I think some people make projects that are more bright and widely colorful, while my personal style veers a little more quiet and neutral. Hopefully over the span of the year the color palettes for the kits appeal to both tastes but that’s just a little insight as to why you probably are seeing the puke green pop up a lot from me.

kellypurkey You are absolutely right and my apologies for overlooking the last sentence of that email. When I saw your post I got a knot in my stomach and opened my email right away to reread the email from this morning. Laura certainly did offer to send the physical card in the mail and I completely missed it. That is not necessary but I do appreciate the offer very much! My apology also to anyone else that read my post stating that the offer of a physical card to be mailed was not offered. It indeed was and I simply overlooked that last sentence of the email. 😔 All is well!

nicolep I hate that feeling! I'm glad you're happy with the CS reply. kellypurkey Thank you again for taking the time to post here. I'm sure it'd be easier for us to utilize the "puke green" if we saw more of your PL pages using it. /cough /cough

I wish she'd use a kelly green now and then (come on, it's her name and she went to Michigan State!). That would really punch up the palette. Yes! As a Spartan grad, I could really use some kelly green in my life! I still have the SC stamp she designed with East Lansing and the cow on it.

I think it's less that people don't like the puke green and more that it would be nice to see some more variety. Dark colors just don't look as happy in spring as brighter ones. But every designer has their go to colors. For those used to altering digital files, since there isn't a ton of shading in her aesthetic, it shouldn't be too hard to select a color and change it when you really like a design but the color doesn't work.
I personally REALLY love the fact that Kelly uses such a nice primary red and her regular use of navy makes my heart go pitter patter.

I love the color scheme Kelly uses - it’s a refreshing departure in an industry currently oversaturated in pink. Plus, it’s consistent kit-to-kit, so they mix well. I like that March always has a little extra green for St. Pat’s and that it’s not your typical kelly green. I also love Kelly’s style and am glad she stays true to that. Now for dawnnikol’s suggestion of more projects with those colors/products cough cough I agree!

I actually like Kelly Purkey’s palette.
To me, it’s more modern, sophisticated and mature. There are plenty of other options that provide sweet, primary and “trendy”.
The color schemes of KP’s Kits offer a different option and I appreciate the option.

I don't think any of us are saying that we hate all of her colors every time, I just feel like there's been a ton of the "neutral" green (as she calls it). Spring is almost here for me and I'm ready for bright bright bright. I totally understand not everyone feeling that way though. It's impossible to make us all happy.

More sophisticated and mature? So that makes those asking for variety in color...what then...uncultured and immature?
