I am up to the 23rd. Only eight more days to go! I am really feeling the push to finish soon, I am getting sick of the sight of christmassy things and the project will probably be abandoned if I don't get a wiggle on! (well abandoned until all the chat about DD18 starts up again in September anyway but it would be lovely to get it completed now.)

Phew. Can I say a (quiet) ta-dah!! So glad to put it all away again, even though I love it whilst it lasts. www.elegantsufficiency.org/blog/2018/1/11/enough-technologyjoblackford I too am writing notes to myself (in fact, that's really why I blogged about it), in particular about my choice of papers! I didn't journal very much this year and wish I'd done more. I like your remark that we'll get another go at it next....ermmm...this year, though It looks lovely! I love your handwriting, the pic of the tire tracks in the snow and the stockings on your bed (how fun!)

Thanks nicolep - I believe read somewhere that December wasn't going too smoothly for you and can only hope that life has made a turn for the better since then! joblackford, I added a note in my diary on a sticky note and put it in July when maybe the first inklings of next year's Christmas designs might be appearing. I know that when I come across it I'll think "whaaaat?" but at least it will bring the list to the top of my mind. (I do the same thing with the "order turkey" postit note which is usually around October.... I appreciate your kind words....I felt so pleased to have finished the darned thing, I just had to tell someone <gg> (and however supportive dh is about such things, he doesn't count on this occasion!)

I was actually super proud of myself, I spent all day (until about dinner time when I got ready to celebrate) New Years Eve scrapbooking and finished up BOTH my December Daily and my One Little Word album for 2017. I have never done that before and it felt amazing, and a perfect way to wrap up the year!
I haven't taken photos or shared my album really, although I absolutely love it. Maybe I will film a quick flip through for instagram or facebook but I feel like most people are "over" sharing DD photos after Christmas. I might wait until next year and share it when all the DD hype starts up again... I have been toying with the idea of starting a blog, I just don't have the time to add something else in...

elegantsufficiency I love your album! Thank you for sharing with us. Your blog post made it all the more special. Your handwriting is lovey and I loved what you included in your album: the tea, stamps, the shopping list. And the forever in my heart photo. That reminded me of a loved one; maybe I could make a page that would make me cry, but bring back happy memories at the same time.

Maybe I will film a quick flip through for instagram or facebook but I feel like most people are "over" sharing DD photos after Christmas. I might wait until next year and share it when all the DD hype starts up again... I meant to do a quick flip through too, for Instagram and for the JYC forum, but of course I haven't gotten to it yet (it's SO dark and drab here and I'm catching up on all the things I set aside over Christmas). But now I'm feeling the same way - will anyone care at this point? Most people are so over the holidays by now. But every year people randomly view/like my Christmas-project-tagged posts long after I post them, so I feel like it is worth doing. Maybe I'll just let it go for now and, as you said, do one when everyone is excited about the project later this year. Not that it's about popularity or anything. But that would also be a really good chance to review the album and how I feel about it before starting the next one. And if I never get around to it? SHRUG. Maybe next time. I did take my own brilliant advice right away, before I forgot, elegantsufficiency and printed out a second copy of my "notes to self" to stash with my Xmas supplies. I usually look in that box when everyone starts planning their shopping. A note in the planner might be in order too. Future Jo always appreciates when I leave her clear instructions.

I really appreciate your sweet comments too scrapperal and Chinagirl828 - thank you x I love to see how other peoples journals/albums turn out, having been around during their gestation, so to speak! Please do go ahead and share...at least one of us would love to see them.

Surely it's time to just go ahead and resend it, I agree.

I just wish she'd send me a new order instead of fluffing around trying to chase it with the post office. Oh, good grief! That's ridiculous. Ideally she should have sent a replacement when you contacted her to say it was lost, long before the official "lost" date. But after, what was it, 45 days?? IT'S LOST! She should have sent you a new order with a bonus something to apologize, even though we all know it's probably not her fault. Especially given that it was a seasonal item!! In the end this is reflecting very badly on this merchant because of the way she has failed to make it right. Postal losses are a fact of life. As a merchant you either work with postal insurance to get some money back (behind the scenes and AFTER you make it right with the customer) or you self-insure (take the risk of losing some money) when you ship goods. Adding FJ to my list of companies I'll not be shopping at.

I think this is what peeves me off the most. I get its not her fault, and I get that sending a replacement order is a direct hit to her profitability, especially as this has international shipping, but I also get that I paid for these products in good faith and it's been nearly two months since the last shipping update and I still don't have what I paid for!! I've already decided I will give her until early next week (when she'll have had a full week to chase the PO) and then I'm asking her to either resend or refund.

Oh Lordy, I am almost done with my December Daily. I am now on Dec 25 - and I go through Dec 31. I have come to realize that the later in the month I took less photos. Which makes it really hard when your project is photo based. Oh well. I am getting it done. My goal is to finish by the last day of January (Wednesday).

IMO she should have made it right long before now. I agree. This has not been a good customer service experience for me. I was not happy at having to wait 45 days before I could even claim it as officially lost, and good customer service would have sent me another parcel when it was quite clear from the tracking that no one knew where it was. Chinagirl828 Have you had any resolution to your FJ woes yet? Will your DD be arriving as a Valentine's Day gift or maybe in time for Easter/April Fools? >.< It's funny you should ask this as I've just received the final part of the refund today. I will say that although I love her stuff this has seriously changed my perspective on her company. If I could buy her products elsewhere I would happily never shop direct with her again. So here's what happened since my last update. It had been ten days since she started chasing the lost package with no updates so I emailed her and requested the order be sent again. She replied by saying they don't cover lost or missing orders but would provide a refund in this instance. Note, I didn't ask for a refund. A refund was processed immediately, against the wrong order. The refund amount was roughly 2/3 of the amount I paid on my missing order. I emailed her back, thanked her, and requested she process the balance of the refund, noting my intention to repurchase the items to finish my DD. (I've already built my whole project around this kit with gaps for specific products from this release. It would have just annoyed me at this point to rework it with alternative products.) The next day she put the Christmas collection on sale for 50% off. So I bought what I wanted for 50% off. And then I chased her for the balance of the refund because after ten days she had not responded to or even acknowledged my last email requesting the full refund. I considered walking away without the balance of the refund because at this point I've still paid less than my original order. But I woke up this morning and I was pissed off that she hadn't done anything so I sent a "when will this be done" email and within hours I had the balance of the refund (but no email from her, only automated ones from her site and paypal advising the refund had been done). The tracking shows my new order arrived in Melbourne on Sunday and I'm hoping it will be delivered tomorrow. So the moral of the story is she's fine to deal with as long as you don't have any shipping issues.

So the moral of the story is she's fine to deal with as long as you don't have any shipping issues. Oh my goodness! I'm glad that you're getting what you need and even happier to hear that you got it half price, but geez. I'll definitely steer clear. I mean, bad stuff happens, no matter how you run your business - ship happens! ;P But how a shop owner responds to problems is the real test, and she failed.

I am finished! Although I was done with the whole thing, days 27-30th have all been mashed together into one big entry. It works though, those days were spent taking things VERY easy. Really pleased with how it's all turned out. Just need to photograph a few pages and tuck it away somewhere.

As I wrote on another post in another thread, my computer crashed and I lost almost all my pictures from 2017. I have resumed working on my DD a couple of days ago and all that is left is the journaling. I am up to day 4. So if you feel behind, don't!

This was my first December Daily and I learned a lot and enjoyed it. I'm almost done, just a couple of days that I need to start (have the pics and journaling ideas already) and probably another 5-6 that I need to add little details/embellishments, then I'm done! I'm a member of a scrapbooking group and we meet this coming Friday evening. We've all worked on these together so our goal is to have the albums done to share. I can't wait!

The worst thing is, I was saving to buy an external disc and there was only about a month left. Now I try to see the positive (there's nothing left to do)--I still have all the people around me to make more memories with.

Thank you nicolep . Please don't worry, I wrote about it a couple of days ago even though it happened two months ago (let's call it denial). It feels good to know you and mom understand the feeling. I was devastated. Even though my niece's big events were saved, which is some consolation to me; it's the mondane pics that I miss the most. My WITL wasn't finished and I'm still kicking myself for that. ETA: I don't want to spoil the atmoshere of this thread, though! More memories are in the making, thankfully. I took my relatives' pictures of December and found another way to document DD.
