I was searching Pinterest for some fall nail ideas and found a few pics that I like but they don't give details on color or technique. Can anyone help with how you would achieve these looks?

There's a vid on youtube showing how to do the half-glitter- I found it on Pinterest but have no idea of how to find it. I think I was searching Halloween nails. I watched it and basically after she applied the color coat she took a tiny bit of glitter polish and coated either the top or bottom (depending on which way you want it to go) and then drug it. Added a little more and kept dragging until she thought it looked good. Now it looked easy but I would probably make a terrible mess, especially with my left hand. But the key was using a small amount and then going back to layer.

I would use a makeup sponge to dab the glitter on top of the base color only where you want it. Right now I have on Sinful colors Bite Me. http://instagram.com/p/BZtT_nhgkCN

The gold glitter polish looks a bit like a Deborah Lippmann one - I can't remember the name off-hand I'm afraid.

I'm wearing a burgundy color called Pep Squad. pin.it/9eh9YUoI have a manicure on Saturday and want to pick a dark gray color. No ideas on the gradient glitter approach...other than the same recommendation to check YouTube videos.

The top picture looks like loose holo glitter applied over acrylic. That might be more than you're willing to take on, but you can get a sort of similar effect with Revlon Holographic Pearls over base colors of your choice. The second pic is using glitters that I haven't seen available in mainstream polishes in a while, the copper glitter in particular, though you might find something close enough. Finger Paints Fall of Surprises fits the bill though I don't know how easy it is to find.
I think your best bet is to take these pics with you to Sally's and look at the China Glaze/OPI/Essie selection to see what colors go together for the look you're after.
Getting the glitter on only part of the nail like that is very easy. Just apply where you want it, or sponge it on with a small piece of makeup sponge if the glitter isn't very dense when brushed on.

Oh and glitter can be rough and topcoat-hungry, so you might want to pick up a bottle of Gelous at Sally's. It's a thick top or basecoat useful for this purpose. I make sure to top the Gelous with a quick dry tc like Seche Vite or whatever you prefer. I also hear good things about Essie Gel Setter (it's not actually gel, but a thick shiny tc).

Well, you could find a red and a gold glitter and add them on top. Just a bit more work. I run into problems rec'g specific shades that are ETF in person because I've got so many that I don't buy very often anymore That's why I think you'd do best by picking them out in person. Plus it's fun. (Enabling mode on! Lol)

I went and had a manicure today and picked OPI Im Not Really a Waitress gel. Honestly? It isn't the color I remember it being but I thought it would be a bit darker. Oh well.

No idea how to achieve those looks, but I love them.
I'm wearing Essie Merino Cool on my fingers and Essie Ladylike on my toes.

For the glitter gradient, I agree with using a disposable makeup sponge wedge to pat it on, then use a thick top coat. I have a couple partial bottles of the Sally Hansen miracle gel "no light" top coat that have gone thick and gloopy, that I use over glitter. It gives the perfect glassy finish.
This week I'm wearing the Sally Hansen miracle gel polish in the shade "Proper P-rose". It's described as a dusty rose, but I describe it as a dark carnation pink. It's one of the few pink shades I own that really feels Fall-appropriate. And the formula/coverage is great.

I have that on my nails right now. It's light pink with half glitter on a few nails. I get dipping powder at the salon so it was a bit complicated but I like the look. This is the picture I asked to copy:

You might like OPI Black Cherry Chutney 🙂 I like black cherry chutney as well! I have not used China Glaze much since Ulta doesn't seem to carry many of them. But Last night I got sucked into some review videos and now I have some that I "must" get. I stopped at Sally's and got the happily never after mini set and opi vampsterdam. The other day I bought opi topped with a beau. I also ordered Lubu Heels from eBay. There are a few from the holiday line that I want but I will wait. I didn't find the glitters that I was looking for but I probably shouldn't be enabled anymore.

I just had my nails done yesterday and went with OPI "Yoga-ta Get this Blue"
I had a hard time getting the colour to look right in a photo and this was the best I could do. It's a nice dark blue that doesn't end up so dark that it just looks black.

I was just looking trough my polish and now I can't find the bottle of top the package with a beau that I thought I bought the other day. But I did find a bottle of my private jet that I don't remember buying. I wonder if it was in the wrong spot on the display? But I remember looking at it....it's going to drive me crazy now.
