Do you use them or bring your own? Trying to pack light, and wondering what others do....

I use them and just remember they are not as strong as my home hair dryer

Same^^
I know going in they aren't going to work as well but I don't want to lug mine from home.

I use them or just let my hair dry. Hardly use a dryer at home anymore anyway.

I usually only wash my hair every 3rd day. For a quick weekend trip I usually wash my hair and style it on the day I leave so I don't have to do my hair at the hotel. If I am taking a longer trip I bring along my travel baby buttercup dryer.

I always use the one in the room. Too much of a PITA to bring mine.

I used to use them (one less thing to pack!), but recently read an article that they are filled with germs and bacteria. So I bought a small travel dryer. I shouldn't have read the article on that or hand air dryers because I can't use either without thinking about it and won't use them, LOL!!
Don't buy the Babybliss travel dryer. We are headed out of town next week and I pulled it out yesterday to make sure it was all good since I haven't used it in while. Turned it on and it started smoking! It totally burned out and I only used it maybe a dozen times. Thank goodness for Amazon prime!!

I travel all the time. Will not pack a hair dryer. I use the one in the bathroom - germs be damned. LOL

I usually take mine. The one time I didn’t there was no little spongy thing under the screen in the back of the hotel dryer and a big chunk of my hair got sucked into the motor. It had to be cut with scissors!

I always bring my own because the one time I trusted a hotel to have one-it didn’t.

I use the one at the hotel. The few times they didn't have one in the room, I was able to get one from the front desk.

After having my luggage dumped at the Beijing airport in 1995 with my boss standing next to me (my first business trip there), I leave it at home. My nicely packed clothes were dumped on the table, pawed through, then stuffed back in my suitcase. (this was before I found packing cubes! although they probably would've opened those too.) They left me my hair dryer but confiscated my curling iron.

I always take my own, either the normal one or a travel one. I can’t be doing with a drier that just whispers a breath of air at me or is too hot or too cold. I don’t like the ones that are wired in either and usually too far from a mirror for me to see what I’m doing. I think I need to sit on the fussy bench.

I use the one provided by the hotel.

I rarely wash my hair on vacation, but when I do I use the hotel hair dryer even though it's not strong enough. I like to think it's hot enough no germs can be inside it. I also worry that a hair dryer in my suitcase would look like a gun on the x-ray machine and would result in an open bag check.

I use the ones in the room ... The only thing you have to remember is that they aren't as "long" as the ones at home so if you have longer hair, it can get sucked into the back of the hotel hair dryer!!
ASK ME HOW I KNOW THIS! LOLOLL UGH.
Our suitcases are usually WAYYYYYYY TOO full to bring along a bulky hair dryer!

If I'm travelling by car, then I bring my own. If I'm flying I use the hotel's.

I use them. My hair is fine and it doesn't take long to dry.

I bought a travel blow dryer and foam-type diffuser for my curly hair. Hotel provided hair dryers just don't do the job for me.

Unfortunately I bring my own, and my huge diffuser. My profile pic pretty much explains why

If I will be there more than 1 night, I bring mine own. Or if I am going to a wedding or something, and my hair needs to look nice-I bring it just in case. Too many times (years ago), I would be in a room with a tiny little blow dryer and a short cord and be extremely frustrated. My hair takes a really long time to dry. I also bring an extension cord, because more often than not-I end up sitting at the writing desk to do my hair and make up. I also have an international blow dryer and a screwdriver in a pouch that I use in Europe. Have to turn the wattage to different settings depending on which country. So yea, I bring one.

Depends on my hairstyle. If it's super short I just use the hotel one. It only takes a minute with any blow dryer. And straighten after.

Murphy's law says that if I bring one they have one, if I don't pack one they don't. I find the ones in hotels work just fine for me and my daughter.

They suck! They have two speeds, fast and not quite so fast, but sure as heck not low.
However when I fly if I have to pay for luggage then dh and I will share a suitcase and I just use the hotel blowdryer. If I don't, I pack my own.

I try not to have to wash my hair when I travel. I can usually go 4 days and be fine. Beyond 4 days and I take my own. It takes me about 45 minutes to dry my hair, and that's with my good blow dryer. Hotel ones don't cut it for me.

I always use the hotel one. My hair isn't long, and normally takes 5-10 minutes to dry (depending on how fussy I'm being.) The germs in the hairdryer are the least of my concerns in a hotel room, LOL. I was annoyed last week in Atlanta that the vanity didn't have a plug anywhere near it, and I had to dry my hair without a mirror. But bringing my own dryer sure wouldn't have solved that one.

I never even thought of germs from a blow dryer, although one friend won't use the hand dryers in restrooms for the same reason. I no longer take my own. I use whatever I find in the hotel.
