By the way - he's wrong! It's those funny little stories that get lost. I like scrapping those the best. lemonella you may like looking back at their cute antics when they are teenagers!

My DH is sweet about it. Once in a while he'll make a suggestion that I don't listen to and he encourages me to buy supplies more than I want to. He knows it makes me happy and he never complains about how much it costs. I don't overspend, though.

peachiceteas, mikklynn, linda - thanks Ladies, for your kind words. I'm sure he won't remember everything and maybe he'll realize the value in the future. Even if he doesn't, these albums are mostly for me and our daughter anyway.

Keep doing what you’re doing. He will see the value in it a few years down the line when you’ve documented things he can no longer remember. ^^^ yeah, he will. we don't have kids, but we forget plenty about the things we do and places we go. Kids growing up would make 100X the amount of things to change and forget about! At the last crop I attended, I scrapped an afternoon trip we took to the AZ State Fair. I had to go back and look up the date that we actually went, and I was amazed at how long ago it had been-- so I asked him about it when I showed him the pages... he said, "oh, I don't know- a couple years ago, maybe?" Uh- no. It was back in 2011!! It was a visual example of how quick time flies and we don't realize it. We don't look through the albums very often, but I was adding pages (I scrap out of order) to one of them and doing the 'oh, I remember that' or "hey, look at this!" thing, and he was doing it just as much as I was (he kind of had to, I was showing the pages to him- but he was interested, once he started looking, lol). Which was nice. My albums aren't for anyone to save for posterity or family history, they're for me to remember the things we do, the places we go, and the moments, people, and pets that make up our life. But they're from MY point of view. So if YOU want to remember those things about your daughter, keep it up. Your husband will enjoy having it later; he just doesn't realize it now.

My DH stopped commenting about my hobbies after he complained one too many times about how I was “nickel and diming us to death.” I got really mad and started adding up how much he spent on his fishing boat, snowmobile, ATV, fishing gear, hunting gear, truck and trailerS (plural) to haul all this stuff, gas to run it all, weekends away to do it all, and, and, and... Needless to say, he shut the hell up and hasn’t had a thing to say about any of it since! Boat docking fees and gas for a month can cost up to $500-600 a month. "We" don't say much anymore about our wife's hobby. He's also on his third new vehicle while I drive my 2005 SUV. Sometimes one just has to be reminded that they are spending more $ than they realize. To be fair, I could easily spend $500 a month, but I don't.

I don’t even know how much real money he has spent on a virtual game over the last couple years. It’s nuts! Whatever, I let it go and don’t say a word. At least he’s not hanging out at the bar!

mine is an enabler, lol. He's worse in HL, Joanns, Michaels etc... than I am Mine is too. He'll be the first one to pick up things he thinks I might like or tell me I can't leave the store until I've spent a certain amount. He also likes to set me challenges by pulling out the most random combination of things from my supplies and telling me I have to use them all on my next page.

My DH used to offer suggestions on how to place my embellishments on my pages, but now only if I ask. I think he did one page himself in the last 15 years. He does save things and take pictures when out without me for scrapbooking and will do journaling for pages. He also sent me an email a couple of months ago with the journaling and ideas for a page he wants me to create about our son. He will still comment on my journaling as he likes things only to be happy.
When Archivers was still around he'd get me a few things for Christmas or my birthday from there just so I'd have something different than I would choose to work with because he thought it would be fun for me. If I start to lament over the $$ I've spent, he brings up his own hobbies and their costs.
Oh, and he buys me ribbon at his auctions/rummage sales all. the. time. I told him that I don't really use ribbon anymore after last week's box. One box he brought home last year was all gift wrap ribbon, so he clearly doesn't understand the difference.

I would fail miserably at that challenge myself, but I'd be interested to see how other people would do it. It sounds like the Food Network TV show 'Chopped' where they get a basket of random ingredients, like pigs feet, chocolate bars, and cheese puffs, and they have to make a dish using all of the ingredients.

Thank you so much for saying this. I was doubting myself a little after I heard his comments but after all the nice responses here I realize you're all right. These albums are for me and I want to remember all these little things because I'm 100% sure I won't. p.s. I'll be sure to report back later when he admits he was wrong and that he enjoys them.

I tweaked my back and simultaneously came down with a cold so I've turned into a sloth, and have been watching a lot of Youtube process videos and most of the people I have been watching scrap from kits. I might have binged watched too many with DH in the room because he looks up from his book to say "I don't get it, isn't scrapping from a kit sort of cheating?" I just thought it was funny... I have been thinking of getting a kit subscription (or at least an embellishment kit), maybe I won't tell DH I also think it's funny when DH (while "reading" a book)mumbles "no, don't put that there!" If he thinks kits are cheating, I’d love to hear his thoughts on scraplifting!

While my husband has zero interest in scrapbooking & never stepped foot in an LSS or general craft store (& probably couldn't even tell you where they're located), he once opined about a decade ago that it seems ridiculous to want an inventory of "$0.05 papers." I've never thought of a good reason to clarify the cost of single sheets of cardstock/patterned/specialty papers & risk giving him a coronary!

My DH is very supportive and always encourages me to go to crops, events, etc. I secretly think it makes him feel less guilty about all the money he spends on hunting, fishing, motorcycling, his truck....

Sometimes I'll watch YouTube videos of scrapping or cardmaking in the same room as my husband, and every video seems to start with "Hey guys", so now my husband says "Hey guys" to me all the time, imitating a woman's voice, just randomly throughout the day.
