Chinagirl828 I totally agree with you, some of the papers are almost too pretty to use! I especially love the florals.

Well, I bought the SC Jan doc kit for $5 (and promptly canceled the sub) and I signed up for KP's new traveler's notebook kits (it will ship for free with my existing sub), so that is not great. BUT, I resisted the allure of JoAnns 40% stamping sale that coincided with the extra $ off coupon, so that is a big win!
My beauty spending was bad this week, so back into the freezer I go!!

I’m still frozen. I’m not counting the post extenders I bought for an album.
I finally finished a gift album meant for a Christmas gift so now I’m free to dive back into my stash and get to scrapping. The more scrapping I do, the sooner I can shop again. Ha!

I forgot one other thing. 😳 I placed two orders with Kindred Stamps for their Galaxy series stamps. The first order has the 3rd stamp, and it is on its way to my house. The second order has the first two sets, which are on back order, but should be mailed around the 23rd. I love Star Wars, and didn't want to miss them when I am unfrozen.
I need to go deeper into the freezer!! 😨

If I'm super annoyed with DH and buy a bunch of stuff using his credit card, does it count? Ha ha ... tempted, but not doing it.

Thought I responded to this thread earlier but I guess I hadn't. I'm totally in for the entire winter season, except my AE sub (+ 1 add-on). We're booking a holiday so any extra is going to that. It was hard yesterday because a local online store is closing out this year ( however long it takes to sell off inventory) and without even trying I added $150 worth of stuff to my cart before the discount. I stayed strong and clicked the x 😥

I always make exceptions to my 'frozen' status when I travel, as I have no dedicated scrapstores near me.
I went to NYC and visited the Inkpad, where I got an assortment of NYC stamps and stencils. At least they're tools! I also got some vintage Christmas cards and tags on clearance.
I really want to make a dent in my paper stash and to use up those 'seldom used' embellishments like buttons, ribbon, and flowers.

Reporting in that I made it through the trip to my not so local LSS without buying anything. It was hard because this Doodlebug So Punny Bacon But I really don't need it. It's just so cute. And I was right next to an M's today, but passed.

Funny how the second you decide to freeze, the most amazing deals present themselves.
I work in a second hand shop, so all manner of stuff comes in. I have no hand in processing or pricing, just work on the floor and as cashier.
Wouldn't you know it, Making Memories foam alpha stamps, stampin' up! Stamp sets, and several other scrapbook related things came in this week.
I have had a will of iron, and chose not to buy them.
I just keep reminding myself, "Deeper, not wider."
But I do admit, I really miss that little high of finding treasure. I need to replace it with the high of creating layouts again, but shopping takes so much less time and effort, you know, so it is harder to achieve the same high while creating.

I've been holding strong this week and it actually feels good! AND I've decided to cancel my KP kit since I've got such a deep stash and the peeks are just OK to me. I'm going to a crop next weekend and I'm planning on working with my AE kits ONLY so I can start whittling that pile down. I have given myself a little shopping allowance for the crop since I'll be in a scrapbook store all weekend. I'm strong but not that strong LOL!

I have had the strong urge to shop, browsing a lot but nothing I really wanted. Im glad and now the urge to shop has subsided. I've been scrapping a lot and I purged quite a bit, so maybe that's why I felt the need to shop. I didn't gove in ,scrapped a lot of pages and my room looks better!

I've walked through Michael's and Joann's a couple times since my buying spree (see earlier in the thread) and couldn't find ANYTHING that I wanted at all-- I was going to buy an ATG refill with my coupon, but didn't even feel like standing in line for that.
Since my last (local to me) LSS closed, and I don't typically shop online for scrapping supplies, I've been going to M's, J's, and TM-- but none of what's there looks remotely interesting. I don't like the 80s-bright colors / childish look patterns that are popular right now, and the rest of the stuff out there seems to be planner supplies.

I did spend $7, but it was a diecut pack that goes to some Doodlebug papers I've had in my stash, so it was a good purchase in my mind.

I succumbed and bought 3 sets from Concord and 9th I've had my eye on for a while. Arrgh I was really hoping to make it to the end of January. And after seeing some fabulous felt ornament patterns by MMMcrafts, I'll be splashing out again next month to buy a couple of patterns, some more felt and some embroidery floss. However, the felt ornaments are mostly going to be gifts, so I feel better about that. Guess I'm out of the freezer and into the fridge

I like the idea if a new thread each month! I’m refrigerated. I have my Elle’s Studio kit and my AE SbtM kit, plus I’m setting a limit of $25 for other purchases (mainly for addons at Elle’s), but I really don’t need more stuff - I need to make a dent in what I have! Spent $14 at Elle’s Studio release, but kept it well under the limit I set! Ali Edwards 30% off deal got me yesterday - I picked up a stamp and got free shipping, so I only spent $11ish. I’m still at the $25 goal I set, so feeling pretty good about it. I don’t expect there to be anything else this month that tempts me, unless Pinkfresh A Case of the Blahs is available on preorder at a discount at ACOT. Hopefully that will go on next month’s spending. I haven’t made much progress in actually using up stash though. I need to get on that!

don't like the 80s-bright colors / childish look patterns that are popular right now, and the rest of the stuff out there seems to be planner supplies. Me neither. And it is ridiculous the amount of planner stuff Michaels has. Like 4-5 different brands/lines including their own. Really Michaels? you are so greedy you have to copy every brand of planners out there? (Mambi, Erin Condren, Traveler's Notebooks, etc). My store has at least 4 sections and all of them are huge.

When I became frozen this month, I completely forgot that I was going to be on the lookout for a sold out, discontinued stamp set from SC that I really, really wanted. It was sold in their recent mega sale. So without a thought when I found it, I bought it. It was free shipping and cheaper than the original price to boot. I am good with that. No regrets!
On the other hand, I have been doing really good about deleting emails without even looking at them.

I went from being frozen to thawed to refrigerated to melted. It was really not my intention, but a week of bad cold+ new online stores + big sales (in France, it's roughly twice a year) + new craft space + zero interest in the new 2018 lines coming up, well--big expenses. I'm torn between happiness and buyer's remorse.

I am in the freezer this month although I did receive some wonderful Graphic 45 Nutcracker for some layouts that I have already scrapped and used most all of it. It was free from a generous pea.
I went to an LSS in my mom's town the end of Dec and bought some paper that I didn't need but I have used some of it already and that was Dec, right?
I am going to Hobby Lobby and a retreat with scrap vendors in mid Feb so I am not going to buy anything until then. I am going to only use cash as well so whatever I can earn with a sewing commission or two I will use for that weekend.
I got photos developed and have more on the way, but I am having them delivered to my house instead of one hour so I saved about $20 on photos. I do not think of them as SBR anyway because I have always had my photos printed right away even before scrapping.
A girlfriend got out of scrapping but hadn't really bought much in the first place and nothing in the past decade. I gave everything away at my weekend crop including the rolling tote except for some cardstock.

Where is everyone? Are you out shopping? I have been lazy today, but now have to start getting things done. Still frozen, other than that stamp set I talked about earlier. Probably has helped that I have not spent too much time looking at the new stuff coming out.
How about everyone else?

I confess I bought a digi kit (for half price though!). I'm not frozen but trying to really watch what I spend on supplies and this one was on my wish list and I have plans for how I want to use it.
I've spent plenty of time looking at the new stuff but I am not that excited by most of it but it has inspired me to get back into my stash so I've been busy creating.

And I've scrapped a few layouts this month too. It's getting easier to not buy when I really take a few minutes to look at all I have (and all that I haven't used yet).

I bought a couple paper organizers this week. I want to sort all my Christmas paper, so it will get used.
I'm also putting things in and taking things out of my shopping cart at ACOT. I'll break down at some point, but so far I'm good.

So far so good! But we just paid for our trip so no extras right now. I still want to pick up a couple of things for our vacation so I'm committed to staying frozen to at least the end of April. I have started scrapping a bit more ( always take a break after DD) using up some of my stuff from the SC mega mega sale, like the color theory acrylic paints before they dry out on me.
