It got a little warmer here, so the chicken that was living in my garage has been sent to live with the rest of her people.
Well, kind of.
The Rhode Island Red has decided that Marie Antoinette is not worthy of living. Therefore , Marie is now living in the chicks cages. Unfortunately for Red, Napoleon the rooster and his girlfriend Josephine have been banished to the cages too, to keep Marie warm. Red and her sisters are now stuck with Tupi, Napoleon's brother. They are not find of Tupi.
The drama is real.

You have to do what you can to stop the bickering , right? The kids want to get out of hand and to many times they just got to go to time out. You can cluck til your feathers get really ruffled but that does not seem to stop their antics...What is a mother hen to do but put them in time out...their choice you tried to tell them...darn kids...

more snow coming today.
we've been surprised that we haven't seen any dogs outside while were taking our (short) walks. Neighbors must be tired of me.
it's been so cold we've had to fight with the great Dane to go outside. he's got no time for this nonsense.

Some folks in our town have set up warming and feeding stations for feral animals. This is a suburban community, but the stations are set up in wooded areas. I have a few bird seeders in my back yard, and I know they are grateful through the winter, including the largest “birds,” who bear a striking resemblance to squirrels and raccoons.

We went out yesterday and checked our bee hives...theyre doing pretty good, still heavy and they haven't taken much of the winter feed we've given them. Now if I could just get the cat to stay in when it rains...
