And, can we get a grandma line without gray haired little old ladies? With active Nana's who love their grandkids? Who also work? And bake cookies? And are tall and grey haired and not little? (The list could go on and on... )

I keep looking for themes that apply to the rest of life: work themes, starting a business, office stuff, meetings, morning routines, business lunches, etc I love themes and I try hard to make things work when I see them but with so many of my photos scrapped the themes I need have become much more specific. However I can honestly say I never had photos for mermaids and unicorns. Maybe if I have a grandchild someday?

The unicorn stuff comes in handy for princess dress pages and her My Little Pony phase. The mermaids still come in handy for swimming pictures (which I have a ton of since she has been in swimming lessons for the better part of three years, plus we have a lake cabin so we’re in and around the water a lot). There is hope for you yet, LOL.

You guys don't cavort with unicorns, mermaids, and zebras?! When I'm not making tacos for my tigers and flamingos that's all I do. Me too! I recently welcomed llamas & sloths. I must confess, however, the grass is not always greener on this side (ie between the zebras & llamas, they've eaten all the grass!). The unicorns make a mess with sprinkles, sugar, & fruit juice; they play doughnut toss with their horns, when they're not using them to spear holes in pineapples. The mermaids are constantly taking selfies, spritzing all the mists on their hair, adding bling to their tails, & arguing over who gets to use the cameras next. The tigers & zebras chase each other & often need first aid/washi after playing amongst the cacti. The llamas are creative & use/spill/misplace decorative clothespins/paperclips, ribbon, stamps/ink, & emojis. The sloths are hanging from the chandeliers. Note the flamingos are the most popular (color); everyone rushes to sit next to them at the taco table.

Yes! I would love some Office Space/The Office humor - like about irritating co-workers or technology fails. Or even a little more stuff about the chaos and mistakes in life, like around the house and cooking - more realistic like "oops burned this" or "oh how i hate to clean bathrooms". In reflection, I don't really buy kits anymore. I look through for paper I would like, and usually end up with the basics or "B" side. I generally go on scrapbook.com and just add single sheets I like to the wishlist - dots, plaid, watercolor - generally nothing too themey. I kinda like that part, it's sorta part of the creative effort for me, I guess. But I hear ya... for me its the pinks/brights/pastels - just not my flavor. But do people actually take photos of that stuff? The annoying co-worker, tech fails, meetings? I could see taking a photo of an epic Pinterest fail (I’ve done that), but most of the other “adult” themes mentioned wouldn’t be anything I would bother photographing (or by extension, scrapbooking) for any reason. Having said that, I will readily admit that I work from home, by myself most days, and any work lunches I might happen to have would be with my DH so maybe I need to just back out of this conversation right now to go cavort under rainbows with my unicorns and mer cats dogs... LOL! ETA: There is NO WAY I’m going to use the poo emoji paper I just bought to make a page about cleaning my bathrooms! 💩 I personally wouldn’t take a picture of the annoying coworker, but I have taken photos of our office and desk without anyone in them, and I could pair one of those with a story about an annoying coworker or other more specific work stories. I wrote a lot of little work stories on journaling cards and included them with and without pictures when I did PL. I always include what’s going on work-wise on my monthly roundup/Currently layouts. Lucky you to work from home! And I literally laughed out loud about cleaning the bathroom/poo emoji layouts!

Kelly Purkey, Elle’s Studio and Ali Edwards all have had work-related products in the past. It would be nice to have a whole paper and embellishment line available though. I’ve been planning to use Fancy Pants Take Note collection for some work photos, although I think it’s a school-themed line.

I scrap about my family. No unicorns here. Well except for a purse that my daughter got for christmas that is also a unicorn, but it hardly deserves an entire line. It will either make it into a pocket in PL or not get scrapped at all...it wasn't so life changing to need a page or several about it. I am a sahm recording children and even I don't get it.

I'm (mostly) right there with you. There are a few exceptions, but they are getting harder to find. It seems to me like there is a definite trend towards the juvenile - in patterns and colours as well as themes. I don't necessarily need themes, but I would like more mature, crisp, elegant colours (saturated, but not bright) and designs.

I would like more mature, crisp, elegant colours (saturated, but not bright) and designs. Exactly jennyap. I just finished my December Journal and used Pinkfresh's red blue and white collection this year. When I bought it, I loved the cool, clear designs, but using it has been tricky. Where are the plains, the solids, the self-coloured textures? No, every sheet was full of personality and I had to work hard to make sure my story/photos were the focus and not the design of the paper. I've decided to think very carefully about buying any themed papers for now - if I need pattern I can stamp/cut shapes/draw/use washi tape. Actually, I feared that might happen and tried to buy some solids to match the collection, but everywhere I tried (I'm in the UK too) no longer sells single sheets of Bazzill or similar (I don't have a LSS) Do people not use solids any more?

And my thinking for the realistic lines like that is more along the lines of travel notebook, journal type pages, where maybe you are just reflecting on mood, daily life, routine, etc. Also I travel a lot for work, so I have great travel photos, but I don't really treat them the same way I would treat vacation photos. And literally, some trips are survived due to said irritating co-workers!. So more from a journal approach, everyday life stuff. Which even for you, like was said, work from home, small business owners, etc.(another lunch with my favorite co-worker: insert photo of your dog I feel like people are just tired of the America Crafts-type canned releases of just change from a sea animal to a jungle animal and brighten that shade of pink. which is why it is cool there are some newer, smaller, independent companies and finding things on etsy, stationery stores, bookstores, etc. Like I said before, sometimes not having a theme/kit is actually more the fun part for me. The hunt for the "perfect" supplies.

How do we get our voices heard? Are there design team members on the board who will take our thoughts back to the companies? What else can we do? Because I sure don't feel like posting on American Crafts' Facebook or sending them an email does any good. I really am curious about this.

We all need to send PaperAngel our "Best Day Ever" project life cards, stamps, and paper! While I appreciate the gesture (I think ), I don't pocket scrap or use such trite phrases on my pages. I'm just being silly about random trends, not risking burial under a mountain (or ten) of all members' unused "best day ever" embellishments...yikes!

When I taught, I took a ton of pictures, but those were kid centered pages and themed paper worked really well. (I have three giant albums of teaching 1987-2015.) That being said, what kind of papers would everyone like of work? I have a cubical at the office and mostly work from home. I probably go into the office 8-10 hours a month.

The hunt for the "perfect" supplies. I can appreciate what you’re saying. I only do traditional layouts. No pocket scrapping, no WITL, no Scrapping 365, no travel notebooks. Very few mini books (although you’d never guess that from my giant drawer full of empty mini books). My last two real vacations were Disney vacations, my next real vacation will be a Disney vacation. There isn’t a lot of variation in my life at the moment, LOL. And I get it too that people get sick of the oddball themes, I get sick of seeing them too. The funny thing about them is, no sooner do I think, “I’ll *never* be able to use THAT!” And the very next second my kid will decide out of the blue that of COURSE she wants to be a fox for Halloween, or she will get cast as a llama in the school play. And there I am, looking for that weird stuff to use in my scrapbook! I also do a lot with my electronic cutter like original titles, custom paper piecings, custom overlays, etc. so it’s easy to always come up with something.

"Do people really take pictures of that stuff?"
YES!!!! I go to conferences several times a year. I take pictures w/colleagues and friends. I take pictures of interesting slides from their presentation. I take pictures of office parties.
I scrap. I buy product. I have a life and it includes work. Sadly, most paper companies either don't get that or don't give a cr(#$ about that.

I have very similar feelings! I came from quilting where fabric collections would have a Wow fabric or three in varying colors then supporting fabrics that would generally be small prints or tone on tone. Then I started digital scrapbooking and was most attracted to kits that had a similar feel to them. Graphic 45 seems to do things this way too but they tend to be too ornate for everyday stuff. I'm starting to head back to the digital scrapbooking world and doing print and cuts on my Silhouette Cameo may be the way of the future for me.
Oh, and let me add that I'm super frustrated by the distinct boy/girl separation to so many of these themes! Echo Park Once Upon A Time is driving me crazy because I've got two daughters, one of whom is into archery so the Prince ones are more appropriate but aside from a few papers I'm not likely to invest in much.

This is exactly why I miss Basic Grey and Chatterbox.
I also got a lot of mileage out of that office supplies being popular phase too.

Tom Cruise and Mia Sara, cavorting with unicorns (unicorns come in at around the 2:30 mark...) from Legend-- one of my favorite cheesy 1980s movies, and one of my favorite soundtracks EVER! Unicorns are real they're just fat, grey, and called rhinos. Real unicorns have curves.

I understand where many would be able to use some office themed supplies, but I can't imagine scrapping that much of my work life.
I work in an office and have never scrapped any work photos. There was even the life-changing time in 2013 when the company I worked for 19+ years closed its doors and I had to start over and it still hasn't made it into my scrapbooks. If I did PL, it would have, but for the types of things I document, I have never been interested in documenting my work life.
Now this past Halloween, our staff did an amazing job decorating our front office (pirate ship, skeletons, treasure chest, fog machine) and I actually took pictures at the office. Then my phone decided I didn't need them and I lost all the great photos. Had I even been able to scrap the photos, I still wouldn't have used office themed supplies, it would've been a Halloween theme. I also lost some great photos of the travelling Vietnam Wall at the same time. Those I wanted to scrap, but again, not from a work theme perspective even though the travelling wall was right outside our office building.
