I just had a similar 8 hour pain that ended up needing emergency gall bladder removal. I drove myself to the ER and was in surgery shortly thereafter - that was 2 days go. It might be something like that.

I'm very glad that you're having an ultrasound tmw. That nausea is starting could be a few different things. Clearly you need medical attention. Please let us know what the scan shows. I'll wait w/you.

OK, I had my ultrasound this morning. The radiographer thinks it's an ovarian cyst that ruptured last Wednesday and is still haemorrhaging, hence the continued pain. The next step is the GP's review on Monday, hopefully. Meanwhile I'm happy to know that it's unlikely to kill me before then, what to look out for if it tries to, and that it's OK to keep the pain under control without masking anything important.
Isn't that interesting?

Oh my goodness! I would have voted for Kidney Stones prior to reading your result only because that is my current situation. Hopefully your GP can help you on Monday.

So first prize goes to smcast, with a to everybody else who suggested ovarian cyst, and a big hug to those who have been through it too. mymindseyedpea Thank you, that's interesting. The pain started on Jan 3rd at around 2pm GMT. Just after the wolf moon - relevant? I'm not usually a big cryer, but I definitely don't believe crying is a sign of weakness. I didn't cry while the pain was at its worse, when I was most scared. Not because I was stopping it, just because my body was busy. And I didn't cry after the worst was over either. Maybe because it isn't over. Maybe I will when it is? Thank you for your support, everyone. I really appreciate it. It's lovely here, with people being so kind and caring.

Hope you are starting to feel better soon and the doctor Monday can help get you on the road to recovery.
I'm curious if you just had an ultrasound? I'm not sure if kidney stones can be seen on ultrasound, so I'd ask for an X-ray or cat scan to rule that out completely. That pain can come and go and vary in intensity, then there's usually but not always nausea/vomiting due to the severe pain levels.

That pain can come and go and vary in intensity, then there's usually but not always nausea/vomiting due to the severe pain levels. Thank you. I feel just the same, pain-wise, only with a big bagful of relief thrown in to sugar the pill. Yes, it was an external abdominal and pelvic ultrasound. The radiographer was very complimentary about all my other organs, saying how easy they were to see and how healthy everything looked. He went round everything and pointed it all out to me on the screen. There was just this nasty jagged black ball where my neat little right ovary should have been. He thought it was pretty conclusive. The rupture would have accounted for the intense pain, and the bleeding would be the cause of the reduced but steady pain since then. There would have been blood in the urine (I had 2 tests) with a kidney stone, apparently. I asked lots of questions! That's the trouble with all the abdominal things in that area - they all have much the same symptoms. SaveSave

When I had my kidney stone, the ultrasound can kind of see the stone, it was more like a shadow of the stone. An xray will show most types of kidney stones, but not uric acid ones.

I’m so glad you found what it was! This may not be anything, but when I checked to see when your birthday was, I noticed at the time I checked, your amount of posts were 1,111. ( not sure if you’ve ever heard about anything cool about seeing 11:11 on the clock, but it is a thing for some Like a “why do I keep seeing that?” Anyway, I’m feeling that there was relevance to the Full Moon with your experience. ( the tv just said “at 11” twice back to back) This Full Moon that happened on 1-1- (2018 adds up to an 11-year) and it became full when it reached 11 degrees in Cancer. ( I have a new manager at work who is a Cancer and her life path is 11 (adding up all the numbers in your birthday) and she left a message for me Dec 11 at 11:11, which I didn’t find out till yesterday) This Full Moon was aligned with the star Sirius. And there is some signifance that Sirius has in Egypt with the Pyramids at the time it rises with the Sun. 11 in numerology means Healing. And Oprah’s speech at the Golden Globe Awards beautifully expressed what healing is needed for the collective at this time. And it’s about bringing balance to what is imbalanced. And at the collective level, I’m sure many would agree that what is imbalanced are the feminine and masculine energies. The masculine energy has been dominating. And it’s time for the feminine energy to get their power back. (I’m not necessary talking about just woman though. There is a big difference between feminine and female). And there’s something linked to what happened in Egypt and the masculine dominance. Like during the times Sirius was celebrated, maybe there was balance with both the feminine and masculine energies. And then power and control took over. And prophecies became hidden. Anyway, I don’t know if this has anything to do with your situation. But if you want me to explore it you can pm me your year of birth and I can see if you were born when any celestial bodies were in Cancer by the Full Moon

How in the world does an organ just die on you? I suppose it got blocked, leading to infection and then necrosis. But how it got that far without your having symptoms is bizarre. You were lucky! I had a couple of pain-free hours on both Friday and Saturday, and when I woke up this morning without pain I was thinking Yay this is the back of it. But it came back again in church at about a 3-4/10 again and has been bothering me all day. I don't like taking painkillers unless I have to, but this is getting old. Constant pain is so tiring! I'm hoping to speak to the GP tomorrow and get a referral to a gynaecologist. How are you feeling myboysnme?

It really brings me joy that others, even though they are also hurting, would think of me. I am noticeably better today than yesterday. I even started taking ornaments off the tree this evening (overdue but snow last week kept DH from bringing in bins). Anyway, I take off a few ornaments, take a break, take off a few... I also look forward to a kidney stone removal upcoming but no pain from that and plenty of percoset on hand if it flares up unbearably. Looking forward to Victoria tonight because endless Say Yes to the Dress episodes have made my eyes glaze over. Thank you and hope you are better or getting there!

I hope your family is supporting you and looking after you. Does the kidney stone have to be surgical too or can they blast it into bits so that you can pass it yourself? I'm the same: do a little, rest a little, do a little more, get tired and have to rest, get cross because I'm tired, get tired of being cross! I'm hurting again today. And irritated by all the hoops I'm having to leap through to get to the next stage. I was told last week that if I called at 8am today, I could have a telephone appt with my GP this morning. 157 attempts (that's not me messing about - I literally pressed the redial button 157 times for 20 minutes) to get through, only to be told that GP calls are between 11 and 3 (and I leave for work at 12) and my GP didn't have any slots till next week anyway. I only want a referral. Pfft. As I can't speak to my own GP, I've booked a face-to-face appt with a different one later this morning. Fingers crossed. SaveSave

What is the next step? Are you going to a gyn in order to discuss what to do about the ovary? Hoping you get resolution and relief from pain immediately.
