So DH and I just booked a spur of the moment cruise - one of our stops is Costa Maya, Mexico and Cozumel.
If you've been there, are the Cenotes worth going to? Whats your favorite excursions? We've been to Cozumel before, but we didn't do an excursion. We just took a cab and went site seeing on our own.
Anyone have any recommendations?

We went to Cenote Multum-Ha on an excursion from Cozumel. We took a ferry and then a bus ride to get there. We loved it! We had gone to see some Mayan ruins first. We were so hot and then to jump in the cenote was so refreshing and beautiful. My kids (teen-young adults) loved it!

We were there last summer and went on a tour with this company www.thenativechoice.com/LOVED it. We visited ruins, learned the history of the area and had a meal prepared by a Mayan family, in their home. The tour office is a bit off the beaten path (it's a little walk from the main cruise terminal hub) but the touring vans are comfortable and air conditioned. The company is owned and operated by people indigenous to the area, which I appreciated. This was the only tour we booked that was not associated with the ship. The online reviews on Trip Advisor were really good, so we went with it. The ship sponsored tour we took in Cozumel was meh. We visited and art museum, a chocolate factory, and a small village. Have fun!

Visit some ruins and yes, the cents are awesome. We've gotten there by dune buggies. Snorkeling and diving is good in Cozumel.

We love snorkeling and diving so I am sure we will find a company to do with, as well. We were wondering if the Cents were over rated or not. I have read mixed reviews online. There is just so much we want to do and not enough time!

We were the in May. Booked with Natives Choice as well. We went to Kohunlich Ruins. It was the full day w a meal provided. We were the only 2 on the tour so had a private guide and driver. We didn't go to a Cenote on this tour. Great tour operator. They guarantee you will be back to the ship on time...I asked. Will use them again if I'm back there.

We were in the Mayan Riviera over the break, you can see Cozumel from there. Our resort had a gorgeous cenote we walked through almost daily.
It depends what you want from vacation and what your priority is. This was like a jingle with wildlife / water. I don’t know what else is there to see. It wasn’t exciting but it sounds like some others in your area have more going on.

We've been to cenotes in several Caribbean islands and have enjoyed them all. I don't remember feeling like we spent too much time there.
