With the Fresno Bee newspaper calling Nunes the president’s Stooge and the fact that he did vote for the tax cuts that could cause those living in CA to pay more in taxes maybe Janz can unseat him. Let’s hope so. Yes!! Does he need $$$ for his campaign? “When did they have their day? There’s been no due process for the 16 women who accused Trump of assault. Why hasn’t @chuckgrassley held a single hearing on this?” Must play the Access tape over again in Congress,YES!

linkThis article lists all the accusations trump has made. I forgot some of them. It really makes this trump tweet more ridiculous than most... trump. “Peoples lives are being shattered and destroyed by a mere allegation. Some are true and some are false. Some are old and some are new. There is no recovery for someone falsely accused - life and career are gone. Is there no such thing any longer as Due Process?” From The Atlantic... “ The False-Accuser-in-Chief”“On Saturday morning, President Trump posted an apparent critique of the #MeToo movement on Twitter. “Peoples lives are being shattered and destroyed by a mere allegation,” he declared. “Some are true and some are false. Some are old and some are new. There is no recovery for someone falsely accused––life and career are gone. Is there no such thing any longer as Due Process?” Within hours, his tweet garnered almost 100,000 “likes” as his supporters echoed outrage at the notion of serious accusations that harm people who are innocent of them. The tweet came the day after Trump said that his staff secretary, Rob Porter, “says he's innocent and I think you have to remember that,” and wished him well—even as he resigned in the face of multiple allegations of domestic violence. And it was written by a man who has himself been accused by at least 19 women of sexual misconduct. Of course, outrage at false accusations is proper, whether or not they “destroy” someone’s life or literally “end” their career. Whether a given American is a supporter or a critic of #MeToo, most agree that carelessly or falsely accusing someone of serious misbehavior in public is wrongheaded and deeply irresponsible. But how is it that so many people who purport to hold those common-sense convictions support one of the most frequent perpetrators of false and irresponsible accusations in America? Trump supporters who are outraged at such behavior are also complicit in empowering one of the worst offenders. When donning Make America Great Again hats, they affiliate themselves with someone who treats others as badly as Jackie treated that UVA fraternity. Donald Trump accused Ted Cruz’s father of helping to assassinate John F. Kennedy. He went on CNN and accused Ted Cruz himself of having an affair with a former staffer based on nothing more solid than a story in a supermarket tabloid. In 1989, when a group of minority teens were convicted of raping a female jogger in Central Park, Trump bought newspaper ads calling for them to be executed. Later, the teens were exonerated—Trump had unwittingly called for five innocents to be put to death. But instead of apologizing, he has continued to speak about the exonerated men as if they were guilty, doing so as recently as 2016. How would Trump’s supporters on the populist right regard someone who kept talking about the Duke lacrosse players falsely accused of rape as if they were guilty today? Even Mike Nifong apologized. Yet Trump supporters rally around the president as if he is superior. In famous and infamous cases, the hypocrisy is glaring––and Trump’s transgressions don’t stop there. Trump falsely accused Barack Obama of forging his own birth certificate and thus perpetrating an election fraud en route to his successful 2008 run for the presidency. Trump falsely claimed that thousands of Arabs were cheering the 9/11 attacks on the streets of New Jersey. Citing Ben Carson’s account of his own flaws as a much younger man, Trump said the mild-mannered neurosurgeon’s “pathological temper,” was incurable, adding, “if you’re a child molester, a sick puppy, a child molester, there’s no cure for that—there's only one cure and we don’t want to talk about that cure, that’s the ultimate cure. No there’s two, there's death and the other thing. But if you're a child molester, there’s no cure, they can’t stop you. Pathological, there’s no cure." If a liberal journalist, or a Black Lives Matter activist, or a Democratic politician made even a quarter as many false accusations as Trump, much of the right would be apoplectic, cite it as evidence of the moral bankruptcy of their opponents, and righteously insist on the perpetrator’s termination and shaming. Their acceptance of Trump’s irresponsible and blatantly false accusations is discrediting––a sign that they have abandoned the moral and civic standards that they purport to believe and in some cases still think of themselves as believing. It ought to jar them to discover themselves complicit in that which stokes their contempt when perpetrated by anyone besides Trump, who corrupts.“

John le Carre couldn't come up with a story like what is happening in DC right now. What we have is a shady businessman turned Reality Tv personally who decided to run for President and wins. During the campaign this guy surrounded himself with an interesting group of people, some in key positions within the campaign and later in the transition team. People that were not well known in mainstream politics. Which on the surface wasn’t surprising since the man was considered an outsider so it made sense he would pick outsiders as well. But then stories started to surface about some of these people like Manafort and his questionable ties to Russia and The Ukraine. Michael Flynn who was fired by the Obama Administration for cause. And then there was Carter Oage who has claimed he acted as an adviser to the Kremlin. As the campaign progresses Manafort leaves because of those questionable ties to foreign countries and is replaced by Steve Bannon a man known to have white nationalist beliefs and ties. Also it surfaces that the Russians don’t want Hillary Clinton to win the election and was meddling in the election to ensure Hillary didn’t win. And the dossier appears. A year later the information on the dossier hasn’t been proven and more importantly disproven. The man takes office. His NSA Mike Flynn has to resign because the acting AG Sally Yates advises the White House council there is information on Flynn that could compromise him. More stories surface that members of trump’s team meet with Russians during the campaign and during the transition time. trump’s AG recuses himself from any Russian investigation that involves the campaign and transition period. trump fires the FBI Director Comey and the tells Russian officials in the Oval Office that should take care of the Russia thing. Rob Rosenstein takes care of the “Russia thing” by appointing Robert Mueller as special counsel to investigate the “Russia thing”. Ever since then trump has been trying to get Mueller fired. He can’t fire him directly and at this point the only one who can is Rob Rosenstein. And since Mueller has indicted Flynn, Manafort, Rick Gates, and George Papadopoulos, three of who are willing to turn state’s evidence for lighter sentences, there is no reason for Rosenstein to fire Mueller. Well this frustrates trump to no end because as the shady businessman he is used to getting his own way. Our checks and balances were set up to stop presidents like shady businessman trump from getting his own way as president if it’s not in the best interest of the people of this country. But shady businessman turned president has a little stooge by the name of Nunes who is using his power as Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee to obain classified information, not normally given to these committees by the FBI or DOJ, to build a narrative to lay the groundwork for the removal of Rob Rosenstein and therefore pave the way for his replacement that will fire Mueller and end the Russia investigations. The Nunes memo centers around FISA warrants issued for one Carter Page. The narrative is there never should have been any FISA warrants issued for Carter Page because basis was the unproven Steele Dossier and since Rob Rosenstein signed off on a FISA warrant request he is no longer trust worthy and should be dismissed. Problem is Carter Page has been on the FBI’s radar since 2013 when he interacted with known Russian spys and actually wrote he was an adviser to the Kremlin. Then he pops up, litterly out of no where, as one of trump’s foreign policy advisers. And the. He made a trip to Russia, met with Russian officials and gave what was called a “pro Russia” speech. This put him back on the FBI’s radar, they put together the paperwork for a FISA warrant, and they included the Steele Dossier, presented the paperwork to the FISA judge who signed off on it. A FISA warrant has to be renewed every 90 Days. The FBI/DOJ had the warrant renewed 4 Times. Rob Rosenstein only signed the last one. The Nunes memo is nothing but a carefully cherrypicked memo to discredit the DOJ/FBI and specifically Rob Rosenstein with the goal of removing him and replacing him with someone who will fire Mueller. Friday two interesting things happened. First trump refused to release the Democratic version of the memo that sets the record straight. Adam Schiff & Company are working on it but the real question will it ever be enough for trump to agree to release it. The second interesting thing that happened on Friday is the number 3 person at the DOJ left. One Rachel Brand, a trump appointee who would have stepped into Rosenstein’s place if he was removed, left to go and work for WalMart. (She must have really wanted out to go and work for WalMart) The person who replaced her and possibly replace Rosenstein is another trump appointee by the name of Noel Francisco who by all accounts would bow to his master and fire Mjeller if he should end up taking Rosenstein’s place. Shady businessman turned president claims he is innocent but has done nothing but try and shutdown the investigations. And he has had help from Nunes and Grassley specifically and the GOP in Congress in general. But you have to ask yourself if he has nothing to hide why potentially break the law to shut down the investigations. And why were Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, Michael Flynn, George Papadopoulos, and Carter Page part of the campaign and some part of the transition team and admistration? Why these specific men? Is it a case of trump’s bad choice of personal or were they the only ones he could get? Or are they all connected and the dots lead straight to Mother Russia? I would think everyone who lives in this country would want to know one way or the other if the shady businessman turned president is in bed with a country that’s not our friend. But apparently not. And that I don’t understand. Everybody in America needs to read this. This is the very best summary of everything going on in America. It's frightening. Thank you, @fred I hear you. I appreciate @fred posting this . As a long term fan of John le Carre though, I have to wonder if he is the right man to (not) link with this awful script- a soap opera writing team, maybe? John Le Carre's books were elegantly plausible, IMHO.

How many more times can I say unbelievable? There are days when I seriously think all of them are on crack. What did Michelle Obama say about becoming president doesn't change you but reveals who you really are. (?) It seems many know who 45 really is and now it is revealing those who choose to work under/for him. In many cases ain't pretty.

linktrump voter..We want and outsider to shake things up in DC. We want someone to drain the swamp. Washington Post. - “ First-class travel distinguishes Scott Pruitt’s EPA tenure”
From the article... Just days after helping orchestrate the United States’ exit from a global climate accord last June, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt embarked on a whirlwind tour aimed at championing President Trump’s agenda at home and abroad. On Monday, June 5, accompanied by his personal security detail, Pruitt settled into his $1,641.43 first-class seat for a short flight from D.C. to New York City. His ticket cost more than six times that of the two media aides who came along and sat in coach, according to agency travel vouchers; the records do not show whether his security detail accompanied him at the front of the plane. In Manhattan, Pruitt made two brief television appearances praising the White House’s decision to withdraw from the 2015 Paris climate agreement, stayed with staff at an upscale hotel near Times Square and returned to Washington the next day. That Wednesday, after traveling with Trump on Air Force One for an infrastructure event in Cincinnati, Pruitt and several staffers raced to New York on a military jet, at a cost of $36,068.50, to catch a plane to Rome. The transatlantic flight was part of a round-trip ticket for the administrator that cost $7,003.52, according to EPA records — several times what was paid for other officials who went. The documents do not explain the discrepancy. In Rome, Pruitt and a coterie of aides and security personnel got private tours of the Vatican and met with papal officials, business executives and legal experts before heading briefly to a meeting of environmental ministers in Bologna. Pruitt departed the G7 summit a day early, before negotiations had concluded, to attend a Cabinet meeting where Trump’s deputies lauded the president’s job performance. In total, the taxpayer-funded travel for Pruitt and his top aides during that stretch in early June cost at least $90,000, according to months of receipts obtained by the Environmental Integrity Project under the Freedom of Information Act. That figure does not account for the costs of Pruitt’s round-the-clock security detail, which have not been disclosed. In an interview Sunday, EPA spokeswoman Liz Bowman said all of Pruitt’s travel expenses have been approved by federal ethics officials. Me - Just because it was approved doesn’t make it right when using tax payer dollars. “He’s trying to further positive environmental outcomes and achieve tangible environmental results” through his travel, she said, adding that in the case of the New York trip, “He’s communicating the message about his agenda and the president’s agenda.” On other domestic trips, Bowman added: “He’s hearing directly from people affected by EPA’s regulatory overreach.” As he enters his second year in charge of the EPA, Pruitt is distinguishing himself from his predecessors in ways that go beyond policy differences. His travel practices — which tend to be secretive, costly and frequent — are integral to how he approaches his role.Pruitt tends to bring a larger entourage of political advisers on his trips than past administrators. But while the aides usually fly coach, according to travel vouchers through August obtained by The Washington Post separately from the Environmental Integrity Project, he often sits in first or business class, which previous administrators typically eschewed. Last year, Pruitt promoted U.S. natural-gas exports in Morocco, sat on a panel about the rule of law in Rome and met with his counterparts from major industrialized countries. This year, he plans to travel to Israel, Australia, Japan, Mexico and possibly Canada, according to officials familiar with his schedule. None of those visits have been officially announced. Pruitt plans to meet with his foreign counterparts and U.S. and foreign business officials abroad, as well as tour energy facilities. These overseas trips are largely untethered to the kind of multilateral environmental summits that dominated his predecessors’ schedules, and Pruitt rarely discloses where he plans to be. In an interview Friday, Bowman said the agency doesn’t release Pruitt’s schedule in advance “due to security concerns” and because it could be a “distraction” from the trips. But she added that he has received government invitations for all his foreign trips. “There’s just a lot of international cooperation that the head of any Cabinet-level agency wants to establish with his or her counterparts,” she said. The agency records show that wherever Pruitt’s schedule takes him, he often flies first or business class, citing unspecified security concerns. EPA’s assistant inspector general for investigations told The Post in September that Pruitt has gotten a higher number of threats than his recent predecessors.

The paper(His local big city paper) in Utah went after Hatch for saying nice things about Porter. ETA: ‘A shocking disgrace’: Orrin Hatch’s hometown paper rips him to shreds for defending alleged wife abuserDavid Edwards DAVID EDWARDS11 FEB 2018 AT 15:53 ETThe Salt Lake Tribune took aim at Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch (R) over the weekend after he sided with a White House staffer who was accused of domestically abusing two ex-wives.
In an piece published on Sunday, the paper’s editorial board attacks Hatch for saying that no newspaper should print allegations against Rob Porter, the former White House aide at the center of the abuse allegations.
“Shame on any publication that would print this,” Hatch told the paper. “I know Rob. I’ve known him for years, both as a close friend and as a personal advisor. He is kind and considerate towards all. The country needs more honest, principled people like Rob Porter.”
“Now now that Sen. Orrin Hatch has announced his retirement, it appears that his handlers have taken the muzzle off,” the paper’s editorial board writes in Sunday’s column.

linkI have said this before. There are 2 types of businessmen. Those who look at regulations as the cost of doing business. And those who look at regulations as standing in their way of making as much money as possible. trump is the businessmen who hates regulations and as president he is systematically shredding protections put in place to protect the American People just so he can make a buck. And the GOP in Congress is just sitting there watching him do it. From the NPR... “Trump Administration Plans To Defang Consumer Protection Watchdog” The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau was created after the financial crisis to protect Americans from being ripped off by financial firms. Now, President Trump's interim appointee to run the bureau Mick Mulvaney is making radical changes to deter the agency from aggressively pursuing its mission. An internal memo obtained by NPR says the CFPB will on Monday unveil a new strategic plan to that end. A "revised mission and vision of the bureau" for the years 2018 through 2022 will call upon the agency to "fulfill its statutory responsibilities but go no further." It also says the bureau should be "acting with humility and moderation." This new direction is consistent with Mulvaney's other memos and statements and formalizes his plans for defanging the watchdog bureau and reshaping its mission, according to insiders and experts that NPR has talked to. The CFPB is considered a powerful and independent watchdog. But many Republicans have wanted to shut it down since day one because they think it's too powerful. Mulvaney is one of them. As a congressman, Mulvaney called the agency a "sick sad joke." He drafted legislation to abolish it. So people at the bureau were shocked when the president appointed him to run this consumer protection agency. Within weeks of coming on board, Mulvaney has worked to make the watchdog agency less aggressive. Under his leadership, the CFPB delayed a new payday lending regulation from going into effect and dropped an investigation into one payday lender who contributed to Mulvaney's campaign. In another move that particularly upset some staffers, the new boss also dropped a lawsuit against an alleged online loan shark called Golden Valley Lending. The suit says the lender illegally charges people up to 950 percent interest rates. It took CFPB staffers years to build the case. "People are devastated and angry — just imagine how you would feel if years of your life had been dedicated to pursuing justice and you lose everything," says Christopher Peterson, a former Office of Enforcement attorney at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau who worked on this particular case early on. Peterson believes that had the lawsuit been pursued and the CFPB won, it could have clawed back money to help thousands of people who've allegedly been hurt by the lender.“

Bet they are all so proud!!! But their friends the bankers will be very happy! WE will pay for it! Mulvaney says rising deficits could spike interest ratesBY SYLVAN LANE - 02/12/18 10:15 AM EST White House budget chief Mick Mulvaney said Sunday that rising federal deficits could force interest rates to spike after President Trump signed a bipartisan budget deal with $300 billion in new spending. Mulvaney told Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace that the spending boost could drive up interest rates, but that the economic growth unleashed would eventually pay down the debt. “If we can keep the economy humming and generate more money for you and me and for everybody else, the government takes in more money, and that's how we hope to be able to keep the debt under control,” said Mulvaney, the director of the Office of Management and Budget. Mulvaney’s comments come as Wall Street frets over what an improving economy will mean for inflation and the Federal Reserve’s plans to raise interest rates. U.S. stocks plunged during a two-week sell-off before rallying on Friday to recover some of the losses. Investors fear that rising wages and potential increases in inflation will prompt the Fed to raise interest rates.thehill.com/policy/finance/373405-mulvaney-says-rising-deficits-could-spike-interest-rates** Mulvaney on if he would have voted for budget deal: 'Probably not'BY REBECCA SAVRANSKY - 02/12/18 11:54 AM ESTWhite House budget chief Mick Mulvaney said it's unlikely that he would have voted for the budget deal President Trump signed into law last week if he were still a member of Congress. "Well, probably not," Mulvaney said during an interview on CBS's "Face The Nation." "But keep in mind I'm not Congressman Mick Mulvaney anymore. I'm much closer to Mr. Meadows, who you're going to have on the show in a little bit, when I was member of Congress." A former Republican House member from South Carolina, Mulvaney was known in Congress as a fiscal hawk focused on reducing federal deficits. But the law signed by Trump last week eases restraints on federal spending, almost certainly leading to larger federal shortfalls. The bill lets Congress boost spending for both defense and non defense programs by $300 billion over the next two years while suspending the debt ceiling for one year. thehill.com/homenews/administration/373421-mulvaney-on-if-he-would-have-voted-for-budget-deal-probably-not

Newsweek.... “The U.S. military has added thousands of names to a gun ban list after the Texas church massacre bit.ly/2ElVadt” Why is it so hard for people to acknowledge that some people shouldn’t be allowed to have guns. Especially by those who can do something about it? a meme-like video but I saw this shortly before reading your post and it came to mind. youtu.be/yJqfNroFp8U

I had to look up this definition - “Definition of Anglo-American. 1 : an inhabitant of the U.S. of English origin or descent. 2 : a North American whose native language is English and especially whose culture or ethnic background is of European origin.”
So I could understand how “White Nativism” this remark by Jeff Sessions is.
Jonathan Jayes-Green....
“Wow. Jeff put it so simple and concise:
"The office of Sheriff is a critical part of the Anglo-American heritage of law enforcement.”

You only have white sheriffs when you only let white people be sheriff. That heritage is nothing to be proud of.

Another lie from trump.
Even Rosenfeld..
“WaPo: As ICE officers get wider latitude to determine whom they detain, the biggest jump in arrests has been of immigrants w/ no criminal convictions. ICE made 37,734 “noncriminal” arrests in the govt’s 2017 fiscal year, more than 2x the number in FY 2016”
Mathew Yglesias..
“It can’t be said enough: For all the talk about MS-13, Trump’s main contribution to immigration policy has been getting ICE to focus *less* on capturing violent criminals.”
